Question Why are newer drive through coffee place so expensive ?

Places like dutch bros , scooters, & 7 brews charge like $ 8 for a large frap. Yet, offering no elevated lounge setting & bathroom access as starbuck do. Why are they so expensive & opening new location? It makes no sense. 7brews doesn't even show price on their menu. Their lack of amenity like Starbucks do is a huge negative for these drive thru places

Comparison Northern fast food outposts in Fairbanks, Alaska

Post image
• Upvotes

These are August 2025 Google Street View captures of the northernmost locations of select U.S. fast food chains, all in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Shown here, clockwise from top left, are Arby’s, McDonald’s, Panda Express, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Sonic, and Raising Cane’s (which mysteriously still hasn’t opened yet).

Other fast food chains not shown here have their northern outposts in Fairbanks as well, but the Google Street View imagery was old, so I didn’t include them. These include Cold Stone, Domino’s, Fatburger, Firehouse Subs, KFC, Papa Murphy’s, Starbucks, Subway, and Wendy’s. Also, Burger King, Papa John’s, and Popeyes have locations at the Fort Wainwright military base, but they’re not open to civilians (other than families of service members).

Review SUBWAY FIX YOUR BREAD 😭

• Upvotes

I used to be a huge subway fan, but nowadays, when you have things like Jersey Mike’s and Publix for around the same price. it just isn’t worth it anymore. I can get a publix sub that’s nine dollars twice the size twice the amount of meat, vegetables and stuff are still free. And I can put it in my fridge for two days and it still taste just as fresh as when I got it. Meanwhile at subway? no matter what you get forget taking it home, even if you eat it right there in the restaurant the second you get it by the time you’re done with the first half, the second half is already soggy as hell. No matter what you get. even if you get a basic sub with something as simple as mayonnaise. Soggy. If you get a cold cut combo with no vegetables mayonnaise or anything. Soggy. I can’t even imagine getting a meatball marinara nowadays I won’t even attempt to. if you’ve had similar issues with your local subway chains please like this post and share it so hopefully subway will do something about their bread. They used to be good and they still can be good. In my opinion, (Besides some pricing) their bread is really the only issue I have with them. It used to be so much better 😭.

Rant/Rave Why are we not McFlurry-ing the McFlurries?

It seems like ever since they switched to those weird paper cup with the flaps for a lid, they stopped actually swirling the ingredients. They just get layered if you’re lucky or if you’re not, they throw toppings haphazardly on top of some soft serve and that is it.

I thought maybe it was a fluke until it happened at 2 different locations.

Why are we not mixing these anymore?

Review I tried the poutine from Druxy’s Famous Deli 😋

Post image

The poutine from one of the fast food restaurants in Markham Stouffville. This was actually better than all the other poutine Iv tried.

McDonald’s poutine used to not be that good, but it’s better than Harvey’s.

What I like about the one at Markham Stouffville, the fries are the exact same as Costco. Iv had poutine from St. Louis Bar & Grill and the sauce, they put too much effort. (If that even makes sense 😂) But what I like about St. Louis is that they use Gold Yukon Fries which are my favourite Fries for poutine.

But this, 50,000% accuracy in terms of flavour. Everything just blends.

Rant/Rave Does subway not let you choose your toppings anymore? Was told I could only get lettuce and tomato on my sub today.

I think the lady is part owner and is trying to charge for certain toppings SMH.

This breakfast item jumps from $1.50 to $8.79 (saying this in case the pic doesn’t come through). To just add the item with the drink and side separately comes out to be under $6

Question KFC Nuggets vs KFC Popcorn Chicken

Call me an idiot if you must but I saw an ad on YouTube and am now curious. I visit KFC maybe like 3 times a year so I'm not exactly familiar with their menu. What on earth is the difference between the Nugget and Popcorn Chicken? Are they not both just small piece of chicken, seasoned with the typical KFC seasoning, dredged and fried? Or have I lost the plot and missed something?? Genuinely curious.
