New Hires click here

This is going to be the new stickied post on the sub. With the influx of questions here from new hires, usually asking about the same thing. Ex: interviews, hiring, onboarding, pants, shoes, and more. I thought I would make a stickied thread for this.

I would also appreciate help from anyone if they can help search for good posts that would help new hires.

For the time being, please use the search function at the top of the page. I know Reddit's search function sucks.

In-N-Out is one of the only chains I will eat at. I get a grilled cheese with no tomato (so with lettuce, onion, pickles, spread) and then if Im going back home I cook up a boca burger patty and slap that on there. Its soooo yummy! šŸ”šŸ„¤

ā€œI heard it’s on the menu nowā€

For past/current employees, what are some of the funniest items customers requested or asked about?

Here’s my list - monkey style (adding chilis to fries) - roadkill style (not sure about this one) - ā€œI heard you guys have bacon!ā€ - ā€œdid you guys still have chili?ā€

Question Craziest reasons why you’ve seen Associates get fired

I got two, one overall and one at my Store

First, this Associate at a Store in my division who everybody liked who was known among the Managers for being a jokester was telling his fellow Associates on his ten how he was outside on handheld and a first-timer customer asked him what his favorite shake was. He responded, ā€œMichael Jackson style. Start with chocolate then add a little vanilla.ā€

The customer thought it was hilarious, as did everybody else, except for this one Associate who was bent on going into Management and would resort to anything she could to become the DM’s teacher’s pet. She overheard the conversation, then when she got off, she posed as the customer and called Customer Service telling them how offended she was and how her first visit to any In N Out ever was ruined. Long story short, he got called into the office at the start of his next shift two days later, and he was never seen again. This was around three years ago. From what I’ve heard, she went into Management shortly afterward and recently became a Second.

Personally at my Store, around two years ago when our DM came in, our Store class clown loudly hummed the Star Wars Empire theme song as he walked into the Stand. He told my Store Man in these exact words, ā€œHe MUST be gone by the end of the week.ā€ I still follow him on Insta and he took getting fired pretty hard, his last post was around then and it was a baby picture of himself sitting in a swing at the park saying how he wished things were simple again and how he needed to ā€œreflect.ā€ I hope everything’s okay, I think about him a lot. He was a cool and smart dude. Life can be so unfair, it’s horrible

Lost In n Out Sticker

Post image
14 Upvotes

I went to the new In n Out location on the Las Vegas strip, and it super nice. When I was there an employee handed out some In n Out stickers (picture above) of that design. I unfortunately lost it. I live on the east coast so I physically cannot get to a location unless I fly. Is it possible for someone from In n Out to send one out 🄲🄲🄲.

I’m currently a level 3 and really needing my level 4 I’ve gotten some training but I need tips on how to not get overwhelmed and how you guys mastered fries. Like how do you reach flow state and stay efficient also what are the times for all the fries? Like light wells, wells, and extra wells?

Burger modifications

Hey y’all, figured I’d share some In-N-Out modifications you can try next time you go.

I worked there about 8 years ago, so these are the ones that come to mind.

Bread swaps/modifications: - Protein style (everyone knows this one) - Tomato wrap (way less common) - Onion wrap - Extra toasted bun - Light toasted bun - Toasted bun on the side

Add-ons/customizations: - Chopped chilies - Raw chop (diced raw onions) - Add pickles - Ketchup or mustard - Mustard-fried patty (same thing they do for Animal Style) - Whole grilled onion - Cold cheese (sounds weird, but don’t knock it until you try it) - Cut in half

My order in the past: Double double, animal style, add chilies and raw chop, whole grilled onion, extra toast, cold cheese

There are honestly a lot more things you can customize than most people realize. These are just the ones I remember off the top of my head. If I missed any good ones, drop them below.

Question Is the lettuce safe?

apparently in n out doesn’t get their lettuce from Taylor farms but I can’t say I’m an expert on produce distribution. Has anyone eaten in n out produce and gotten sick? I’m craving a burger so bad but don’t want to remove lettuce and tomato

Question Just graduated high school. Any tips for getting hired at In-N-Out?

Hi everyone!

I just graduated high school and I’m really hoping to get a job at In-N-Out. I don’t have any official job experience yet, but I have experience working with people and in fast-paced environments.

Some of my experience includes:

Student Store Worker (food service, cash handling, customer service, and POS)
Student Office Aide (helping students, parents, and staff while staying organized)
Color Guard, where I learned teamwork, communication, discipline, and how to perform under pressure.

I’m a really hard worker, I learn quickly, and I genuinely enjoy staying busy. From everything I’ve heard, In-N-Out has high standards and a strong team culture, which is exactly the kind of environment I’m looking for.

I’m planning on writing a cover letter because I really want to stand out.

For anyone who works or has worked at In-N-Out:

What does the hiring process look like?
What qualities are hiring managers looking for?
Are there any keywords or skills I should include on my rƩsumƩ?
Is a cover letter worth submitting?
Any interview tips or things that helped you get hired?

I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Free fountain water

So we had a discussion. For free water, is plain carbonated soda considered to be free water.

What about lemon wedges? Okay to have with water?

I’ll never understand how people go anywhere else for a burger if they can go to in and out.

Double double, animal style, extra grilled onion and chopped chilis. Perfection on a red tray. I could eat this every day. No fast food burger comes even close.
