I just got my new Ruger 10/22 and took it to the range today to try it out. I'm loving it, but I noticed it shoots a bit high and to the right, using CCI standar velocity 40gr and also RWS club 40gr. I'm shooting at a target 50m away (almost 55 yards for my American brothers, I'm from Spain) with iron sights and just putting the gun over a table, no bipod or anything.
My question is how do I zero my iron sights (I heard that 20 yards is the best), since I'm somewhat new to this kind of rifles. Thank you in advance and any suggestions are welcomed.
By the way, I also bought a 25 magazine, the BX-25. I heard mixed opinions about it's reliability, but I will see when they arrive.

Mossberg Mavericks are going for $250+ these days. Would y’all recommend any particular brand sub $250 or should I just go used?
Thanks!

Foxtrot mike products, Mike-102 16f, side fold rifle. Picked this up on Friday, attached the afg from Magpull, random vertical grip, budget red dot. Went to the range Sunday, had a blast. Love the side fold, barrel quality, overall compactness, full top rail, index tab handguard, 7 sided M-lok, forward charging handle, and ejection port cover. The safety is left and right handed, polymer lever. Magazine well accepts ak556 magazines, they recommend AC unity, and circle 10 (some others may fit). Really want the slap mod handgaurd, makes the forward charging handle into something like the MP5 or G3 bolt lock back.
Friend brought a Sub2000, he said the Mike-102 recoil may be less than his Keltec. Went through about 150 rounds. This rifle is rad, love the controls, the feel, the low recoil, the adjustable side folding stock, love it. 10 out of ten would buy another.

Has anyone ever had a large company ask for a box of ammunition that they wrongly sent be returned? I’ve spent probably $4,000 there this year and my last order has a box that I didn’t order instead of what I did. Mind you it’s less than $20 for the wrong one, and a little more for what they owe me.
I’m definitely taken back for them sending a tag to return what they wrongly sent.

Hi, so my boyfriend's birthday is coming up and he recently bought his first gun (Glock 48... I think?). If it's not obvious I know next to nothing about guns but they are something he's really into, he's going to school for forensics and criminal justice so guns are just part of his day to day. I'm not comfortable buying ammo or new modifications for the gun bc I don't know much but I want to get him something he can use. Any ideas are helpful, I've been looking at a range bags and ammo boxes but I'm not sure how helpful those are, please give any feedback! Thank you

I’m going to get into long guns soon or just guns with 3 points of contact in general.
Whenever it comes to the conversation of barrel length, the main points/arguments I always see being made are about effectiveness at range. Shorts barrels suck blah blah.
My question is, what barrel lengths are peoples default, and how far of a defensive shot do you think you’ll actually HAVE to take as a civilian? How far do you NEED a rifle caliber to be useful out to?
I hear people say a gun is useless/bad because of its ballistics at an absurd range like 400-800 yards. Could this be LARP? Or just personal preference?

Building my own ought six, interested in what you guys are running. Primarily hunting black bear in the pnw, but I’ll have a spike elk tag in my pocket as well. Curious to see what you all think/run.

I’m looking to get rid of this old Mossberg but I don’t know what it’s worth. I haven’t seen many exactly like this one and I’m not completely sure what is at the end of the barrel. Please help!

Just curious—which of these two reticles do you guys prefer: the clean circle-dot or the one with cross marks? I’m leaning toward the cross-marked one because my eyes seem to pick it up more easily, but that may just be personal preference. Is there any practical difference between them?

So I recently changed out the sites on my AR from a vortex Spitfire 3x to a red dot 3x magnifier combo. When I mounted the red dot in front of my spitfire I found that I could co-witness the two as the spitfire sat at the same hight and had the same level of magnification as the magnifier, so I thought that would let me zero the red dot off that, however that was not the case as they were way off, now that I got my red dot zeroed I put the spitfire back on and doubled checked that they are in fact way out of alignment despite both being zeroed on the same rifle, same distance and in the same section of rail when they were zeroed. Picture for reference.
Anyone know why this is?

So, I've been working on cleaning a Rock Island Arsenal 1903 rifle, but I was unsure how far down I should disassemble it for cleaning for the first time. I presume that generally it would be just remove bolt and clean the chamber, bolt, barrel, but I am unsure if it needs to be taken down farther for the first cleaning. My father mainly just inherited his firearms or purchased new as need be so is not of much help on this. Guidance/advice is appreciated.
