I was out looking for a S&W MP 2.0 at pawn shops today. Instead I found a 1982 559. It’s one of 1,626 made in nickel from 1981 and 1982, the only 2 years they were made. Has that Miami vibe from my party days. I just couldn’t walk away from it.

4.25" to 5" upgrade

I loved the 5" when I tried it before buying, and was disappointed when only the 4.25" was available. Finally correcting that discrepancy.

Waiting until after I shoot it to move the Night Fision sights and Holosun SCS-MP2 over.

Scored a Model 39-2 with original paperwork and receipt. Was purchased new in 1977 for $249. Got it for $160. Need it… absolutely not but the price was too easy to pass up imo.

LGS has this. Seriously debating and could use guidance. Already have a 36, Model 10 HB, Model 10 Pencil, and a Model 19 classic. Nothing in stainless though.

Metal HD Magwells

Hi all,

Recently picked up the metal HD. Magwell that comes with is not blended super well to the frame. Recommendations for competition sized magwells that blend better? I’m aware new baseplates are likely required. Thanks!

Just won a 52‐2 for $880 plus transfer. Epic get or did I just get hosed?

Having a rough go of things and impulse bid. Whats the consensus for 1 mag and an ok condition 52-2 for $900 otd?

M&P Metal part identification help

Post image
26 Upvotes

Does anyone know the name of this part and/or part number in the M&P metals? It is the polymer housing for the sear housing block in the frame and is directly above the rear backstrap.

I recently bought a Competitor HD and this part was disintegrating inside the gun. The rest of the gun is amazing, though! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Holosun scs with ca compliant 2.0

Im trying to install a holosun scs on my mp 2.0, but it's a ca compliant model. Will the scs work or do I need to remove the LCI?

If the lci will work, is this the correct configuration? The lci dropped out while taking off the plate so not sure if my picture is correct.

need help - does the sear spring with competitor HD have a detent?

I am installing the Overwatch Precision TAC trigger following the instruction video for MP2.0 now. And I open up the sear assembly I only saw a spring (rounded both sides, see picture), I did not see the spring detent. The one in blue circle is the factory spring, and the red one is Overwatch one.

but the instruction video said there is a detent. I am not sure if I lost it. Can anyone share the information? thanks a lot!

Removing Barrel Nut on S&W 422

I was adding Hughes Precision threaded adapters to my two 422 pistols. I didn't have the original barrel wrench, nor did I have a flathead to unscrewdriver wide enough to bridge the notches.

Turns out, the "keys" to those tigger locks that they give you with all gun purchases (the metal circle with two pegs) fits perfectly in the barrel notches. Now, my pistols are pretty old, and the one barrel nut was corroded to the barrel. I used an adjustable wrench to grip the key and provide leverage to free the barrel nut.

Hope this helps someone.

5,6 inch threaded for the HD

Do ya think that this barrel would work on the m&p 5 inch HD model? Should not be any change in the interior, simply just a steel frame instead of poly?

M&P 9 vs Compact

I already have the full size M&P in commander length but it has the old curved trigger. So I’m already planning an update. Also have the a Shield Plus for EDC. So this is more of a want than a need.

I want to setup another EDC but can’t decide between a full size or the compact. The difference from the shield would be the ability to have a light and dot. My thinking is that if I’m going to carry a bigger, thicker gun, why not just get the full-size?

Seems like the slide length does not matter for appendix, so I’m more worried about the additional .5 inches in the grip. Not seeing the benefit of the compact to have less rounds and a smaller grip, I have larger than average hands.

If I go compact I think I would go for the 3.6. It’s supposed to be more difficult to carry but I love the aesthetics. Is it worth it to get the compact? Or should I just carry the full size?

Wife and I went shooting her S&Ws (and a couple other handguns)

My wife and I went to the local indoor range and shot her two S&W handguns, a .380 Shield EZ, Model 19-6, and a couple of my handguns (G19-2 and a Ruger LCR.22lr). I hadn’t shot her Model 19-6 in a while and I forgot how damn accurate it is regardless if I was shooting DA, SA, .38, even .357 magnum (and a flinch). My wife’s brother got her Crimson Trace laser for her EZ and this was her first time shooting with it. By the end of the session she was shooting so well with it. I spent the whole evening cleaning them, which is a form of relaxation for me.

I work construction and needed something comfortable and easy to carry that I can just throw in my pocket and so far I love it.
