Question - P-10 F SR

Post image
23 Upvotes

Just got the P-10F the other day. Shoots awesome but I never got last round hold open with the factory mags. Is that how this gun is? I was shooting federal 115 and blazer 115 range ammo. Using the factory 20 or 21 rounders??

Won a P10C Ported COA in a raffle and …

I really didn’t want to like this gun so much because I planned to sell it but it’s really, really nice. The COA sits so low in the slide and despite its bulky appearance it has a very thin frame and feels fantastic. It’s nice that it’s ported, too. It shoots almost as flat as my Ramjet Glock 45 but without the extra length. Overall super pleased with it and I think it’s going to be a keeper.

Modification - I Self Cajunized. Was it worth it?

Post image

When I got my P-01, I did the same thing all of us do: shoot a few hundred rounds and fantasize on all the upgrades we can make. I have a 2011 I've done a tiny bit of upgrading to, and I decided I wanted to learn more about the mechanism and gain a little skill with gunsmithing. How hard could it be, right?

Hard. Stupidly Fucking Hard.

It took me 2 months. My disconnector had to be hand fitted, which means I had to shave off a thousandth of an inch with a diamond file then rebuild the sear cage and see if the hammer would drop. When it wouldn't, I had to pull the sear cage apart again and shave another thousandth of an inch. I lost count of how many times, but after the twelfth or thirteenth, I questioned my life choices.

I had to order special tools. I broke 2 springs and lost 2 more, along with most of my patience, some of my sanity, and even a little of the color in my hair. Everyone says how tough of a job it is to work on these, and they're not joking. Everything is finicky and tight and small. But today, I finally got everything fitted and back together, and ready for the range tomorrow.

All told, I actually spent more to do it myself than it would have cost me to send it in, but I learned a ton, and it feels good to have done it.

Was it worth it? Yes. I built some skill and knowledge and understanding. I now feel like I can work on something else with a lot more confidence.

Should you do it?

Do you get frustrated easily? Do you have a good 20-40 hours of disposable time and a few hundred dollars to spend? Do you have a place you can leave it torn to pieces for weeks at a time where it won't get touched by anyone? Are you a little bit crazy? .....do you believe in a God?

EDIT: Just to say how awesome all of you are. Keep getting after it my dudes.

Dream build is finally complete

I was finally able to snag a CZC threaded barrel for this thing. Conveniently they came back in stock a week before my Spectre 9 was approved. Install was a little tricky as I have the CGW 10x bushing, had to do a little smithing to get them to work together. I'm beyond happy with how this gun turned out.

Older CZ75

Yesterday I picked up an old CZ75. I assume that it is from before 1993, since that is when Czechoslovakia split.

It is pretty rough, and I have a few questions.

I have been experiencing a lot (several per magazine) of failure to ejects. I have found on older guns that tends to be caused by one of two things: insufficient lubrication or weak recoil springs.

Which brings me to my first question. Is the spring from this gun the same as current production? Is the weight the same? The guide rod is also pretty short, while disassembly videos seem to show a substantially longer one. Is this a drop in replacement, and is it worthwhile?

The grips are pretty worn, and one is chipped. Are there any compatible ones available?

Thanx for the help.

Tanfoglio questions

Since the Tanfoglio subreddit doesn’t exist I’m just gonna go with this being the place to go. But I bought a Tanfoglio Witness P-Defender today but have no clue if any of it is aftermarket or not on the gun but it’s a 45 ACP with a short slide and long barrel. Really just trying to get more info in relation to the gun if anyone has any. Only thing I know is that it was imported early 1998.

Post image

I need help finding a good kydex holster for my p-07 with the 20 round mag that conceals decent, I know it’s difficult with the extended but I wonder if anyone has found one?

Beginner here. 6 rentals. Shopping for a pistol. I think I have to buy a P-10F now.

I know my accuracy is poop but relatively it looks like CZ worked best for me.

The rental had gold trim, which I think means it’s competition?

I think next step is to rent a non-competition model? Are they somewhat similar or totally different feel in trigger?

Sounds silly but the gold showed some wear and looked kind of cheap, aesthetically would like something simpler.

I dont love it but cant get rid of it!

Bought a P07 just about 4 years ago. I have always been a bit ambivalent about it. It was "okay" but I never loved it.

I changed the hammer to the CGW which made me like it a bunch more because of how much sweeter it makes the single action and while I was at it I did the extended firing pin and 15# hammer.

Made me like it a bunch more but it still is not my favorite and like many of you, I have plenty other guns to play with.

So today .. ONCE AGAIN .. I brought it to the range determined to just hate it and finally put it up for sale locally and buy something else.

BUT ... good damn I shoot the stupid thing so well. I loaded up 4 rounds at 7 yds and my first shot of the day was off and to the right of the "X"

So I aimed at the hole from the first shot for the next 3 and here is the target.

The lower lonely hole in the chest area was me shooting at 25m. That was the only shot outside the smaller lighter colored rectangle you see poking out of the bottom of the pic.

63 damn years old and no optic so ... the gun was saved from resale once again and back into the safe it went.

Did a bunch of 4 shoot strings starting in double action on another target at 5 yds .. the gun is actually pretty awesome. About the 10th time I have taken it out to evaluate whether it stays and its still here.

Walked into my lgs and found this for $500. It appears to be barely used. Already own a Shadow 2 and CZ 457 and had heard many things about the Rami. I think I might be part of the CZ fan club. Would y’all have picked it up too?
