I mainly want to discuss the crit armor pen option vs Serylda on a bruiser build, as I never play lethality Kled.
BC is maybe good when you play for your team, but I think it's probably worse in solo queue because you need way too much time to fully apply it, especially against squishy targets.
I feel like people on this sub tend to agree that Mortal Reminder is the best option, and maybe LDR when healing isn't an issue, but Serylda is rarely part of the conversation.
Let's talk about the pros and cons of both options. Serylda costs 3000 gold, the same as MR, but gives +10 AD, +5% armor pen, and 20 haste instead of 25% crit, along with a slow on abilities against low HP targets.
In a typical Kled bruiser build of Titanic + Hullbreaker + armor pen item, Kled ends up with 0 haste whatsoever. And the less haste you have, the more valuable each point becomes in terms of cooldown reduction. So having 20 haste is not negligible.
On the other hand, MR provides the mandatory Grievous Wounds against some teams, as well as 25% crit.
25% crit is basically equivalent to 25% more AA damage on average. Against a squishy target, Kled can pretty easily kill them with Q + AA ×4 + E + Ignite + Titanic. In such a scenario, maybe less than 50% of his damage comes purely from auto attacks, which means crit translates to roughly a 12.5% increase in total damage on average. And if the target is tankier, AAs will represent a larger percentage of his damage, making the value of crit even higher.
Now, are the additional stats from Serylda more interesting than the crit and Grievous Wounds against a typical solo queue team without a lot of healing? There's almost never no healing nowadays. Most supports tend to run Heal, most ADCs buy some lifesteal, and most top laners have some amount of healing in their kit or items. But the actual healing reduction against those champions can be pretty small. We're talking about maybe a few hundred HP in a full teamfight, and often even less in a 1v1 situation.
Those 20 haste equal roughly 16.7% CDR, which brings his Q from 7s to 5.8s, W from 9s to 7.5s (not forgetting that it's also reduced by AAs), and max-rank E from 9s to 7.5s. These are all spammable abilities, and getting them back sooner is always valuable, especially W.
And then there's LDR. Against heal-less tanks or bruisers like Sett, Mord, Sion, or Ornn, the damage will be even higher thanks to the same armor pen as Serylda plus the Giant Slayer passive, which can grant up to 15% increased damage. Against a team with lots of HP stackers and no meaningful healing, or when your team already has plenty of Grievous Wounds, it's probably the best choice.
But outside of that relatively rare scenario, I think Serylda can be good. Against a typical solo queue team with assassins, a mage support, and generally squishier champions, Serylda is honestly a pretty solid option. Currently, the item is only built by a few (very few) lethality Kled players, so maybe it's worth giving it a try?
