Is navori second actually good?

Hey im a high gold player, new to lucian (around 30 games) and i dont get why every guide suggests you to buy navori second everytime. Every game when i build collector or shitbow (against burst mages bot) second i straight up one shot everybody, but with navori he feels super weak. Yes your abilities have way less cd and you have some attack speed but i feel like the 45-60 ad from other items that basically turn into 65-90 with your 50% crit chance completely outvalue the cdr from navori.

How do u play into lucian milio

As a ezreal with supp braum, I have no idea how to play this match up, i feel like even if i try to fight with stacks i get cooked early, he shields my poke he put heals my all in and he can free lucian if he ever gets ccd. I feel like even if i play safe and farm they have so much pressure to do things and im still playing catch up and i just lose whatever strengths i have for playing ezreal.

I want to flip a table when I get 0 experience nami milio

the amount of times i pick lucian and my support who half the time doesn't even play the role suddenly decides they are no longer vanguard/mage players and pick nami/milio with 0 game sense and no clue how to use their abilities is fucken crazy. The amount of times i dash in just for milio to bowl the adc that outranges me to where they are just outside of my auto range while wailing on me, all the while their w is on cd because they used it to heal themselves because they dont use their shield to block poke, instead the shield's sole purpose is to help me shove wave with increased auto dmg to minions.

I have over 1k games played on Lucian

And honestly I’m probably never playing him again.

This champion is complete and utter dogshit. The stars have to align for this champion to be remotely good. His Q does laughable dmg. I honestly think leveling up his w in lane would be more and than his Q does.

So he’s not an early game champion anymore. He’s a hopefully I can survive until 3 items and my team hangs in there before I can actually kill people type of ADC. And the best part is, once u get to those items. The power spike is mediocre at best.

Riot has failed this champ design and they don’t care to admit it. No range, no dmg, passive is locked behind someone else helping you. No other champion in the game that I can think of has their dmg locked behind someone else doing something for you.

The only way to fix this champion in my opinion is something as simple as giving him more range on his Q. That alone would make it feel like u can reliably poke someone down in lane with the little 100 dmg it does. Otherwise ur just at the mercy of terrible champ design.

Every other short range adc can actually do dmg when they are in range. Samira, kaisa, fuck even sivir can probably dish out more dmg than a Lucian can early game.

It’s sad because I used to have tons of fun playing Lucian. But now it’s borderline griefing.

So goodbye Lucian. Maybe one day riot will fix u

is this build optimal? no. BUT if you run this in a swiftplay game as lucian support it is a LOT of fun and clears lane disgustingly fast.

the core idea is to abuse his passive to clear lane/pressure map as much as possible so we go tiamat first item and max out dashes for general support utility. runannes is our next item to really cash in on the passive + combo with stridebreaker. hullbreaker is to burst down towers after. the rest doesnt super matter we just need attack speed. last is GA for when you plow through all of top lane and reach nexus

Build recommendations

So I used to play a lot of Lucian and then stopped playing him for a while. Now I started playing Lucian again because he is very fun to play, but I always wonder about his buildpaths.

I'm currently master 50 LP and I always go one of these builds:

- ER->navori->LDR/MR->IE (ldr or ie depends on gold income)->BT-> GA/QSS (depends on enemy comp)

+ Gluttonous greaves

-stormrazor->IE->LDR/MR->RFC->BT/BORK (depends on enemy comp)->GA/QSS (also depending on enemy comp)

+ Gluttonous greaves

The first build i usually go when i can't afford a bf early, otherwise always second build.

I was curious what the community builds on Lucian since I feel like he's very versatile with items.

And I'm also curious whether these 2 builds have a huge dmg diff?

New to Lucian - Input Requested

Good afternoon summoners!

I have recently picked up Lucian and have really been enjoying him. Based on OP.GG, Lolalytics, etc. Navori 2nd is his best build but I always feel it really hurts my damage. I have found going ER into Collector to be much more damage particularly on squishies. Does anyone have insight into when building Navori 2nd is appropriate?

Lucian is “Fake Hard” - Low Winrate Delta

I started spamming this character to learn him since I’ve always thought he was the coolest ADC and climbed the ranks pretty quickly until I got stuck in Emerald. Noticed the games are just way harder to do anything on whether I do well in lane or not which means I’m at my rank right? Great.

Then I started watching some high level vods to see what I can pick up from high level players to add to my own games. While the gameplay has cleaner moments, I was surprised to see how many times I saw a “bad engage” from the challenger Lucian, where he face tanks abilities while dashing forward just to get a trade in. The enemy almost always respects him and backs off which makes the trade favorable for Lucian. Like they think he has a hidden trick or jungler ready to gank for him, but he doesn’t. If the enemy just stood their ground and fought back, the Lucian would be inting.

Then I looked at the winrates and noticed the delta or difference between a really good Lucian and the average Lucian is only ~2%. He’s actually the lowest winrate delta of any ADC. This at first seemed totally counter intuitive because he seems very high skill/mechanically intensive. But I think it clicked for me. If you’re bad at Lucian but you have a Milio/Nami, and/or he’s strong in the patch. You’ll still win lane. You’ll still have a good early impact. You don’t need to play him super well or extract any extra value from him because even just dashing forward and smashing your keyboard is enough in the right game because of how much damage just gets pumped out by just pressing everything. In the wrong games, on average, you aren’t trying to win more you’re just trying to lose less. Your skill on Lucian doesn’t seem to translate well into changing the outcome of a bad matchup. And Lucian isn’t the type of character you can play to “stop the bleeding” and play for scaling.

I’m curious what other people think of this?

I think while Lucian appears really flashy and cool, the way his kit is designed means he’s actually just pretty 1 dimensional. He’s fake hard. I’m pretty confident anyone who plays ADC can perform on him if they have the right support and just shouldn’t touch him if they don’t. I’m sad to come to this conclusion after playing ~200 games on him this season. I’ll still play for fun but I’m moving onto something with a higher skill ceiling and less dependance on my support. Maybe they’ll change his passive one day.

Is Navori necessary for Lucian?

Hi everyone,

I am seeking an advice for my build path.

I have just recently started playing Lucian and even though I am familiar with ADC role, I struggle to be efficient during late game teamfights with Lucian’s difficult mechanics. I normally build ER - IE - Navori as almost every other player. However, it is too challenging fot me to rotate the basic spells quickly so I do not use Navori’s passive as effectively as better Lucian players do.

Lately, I have been thinking about not playing Navori and try RFC as a 3rd/4th item instead. I understand that it will reduce my DPS significantly in a world where I can play perfectly, but because I cannot, it should not be that bad and it would open other opportunities for quick poke/trades with E - AA with RFC.

Do you think that this is a relevant approach?
Would you recommend me to try RFC or stick to Navori and try to work on my spell rotation mechanics instead?
If I try RFC, are there any changes in runes setup that you would recommend?

Thanks for your help! ♥️

Hexoptics rush with RFC?

Just looking for opinions on taking Hexoptics first item on lucian instead of ER.

My reasoning is just simply more range on lucian just seems to be a better stat than spell blade with CDR. Less expensive and gives you more windows of opportunity to turn a fight around.

Ideally u want Hex into IE then a RFC as this makes ur mid game pretty good. I also take dorans bow and alarcity for the AA speed, helps throw down consistent dps without being to reliant on your mana. I also think manaflow and transendence is needed here to make up for not having reaver or navori, tbh dont think u will really notice to much of a difference as now one spell rotation should do more dmg than ER IE with the gold efficiency your getting from 2 very cheap items.

I also go triumph and last stand as these 2 runes compliment each other pretty well and help you snowball ur lane very early. You would also want 2 points in AD runes since your taking dorans bow which gives you more ad than one atk speed rune and dorans blade

I just been trying to find builds that are cost effective and helps lucian do better late mid to late game since i feel his dmg drop off is significant compared to other adc

Lucian is the Worst ADC Current Patch

https://lolalytics.com/lol/tierlist/?lane=bottom

Now that the enchanter item nerfs hit he is the lowest(actual) ADC played in the bot lane. This is the first time I’ve ever played a character whose winrate dropped substantially because other characters got nerfed. Is it time for a rework of his passive? It’s horrible he’s so tied to a couple champions while being completely useless with like 95% of the rest.

I Think I Have A New Build For Lucian

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hi Everyone!

I think I found a build for lucian that makes him really strong with the new item changes

The build is:

-The new vamp boots are really strong here giving you a lot of omnivamp and survivability

-Stormrazor first for the burst of movement speed

-Voltaic for the dmg and procking stormrazor with abilities

-IE/Armor pen on third and fourth based in what you need first into enemy comp

-Navori because you only get 10 AH from items

-Last item is whatever you need for enemy comp (GA, BT, Mercuriam, ect.)

For Runes:

-I go PTA with POM for mana and Blodline for more vamp

-Beacuse the build is expensive i go cashback

-JOAT for AH (you can get 10 stacks at 4 items witch this build witch is not optimal but the AH is the main reason to take this)

This build makes Lucian spike insanely with 2 items doing insane burst. The main interaction what you have to learn here is using your abilties to proc voltaic (and stormrazor) running down your enemies easily catching up to them even it they dash or disengage. Really good for outplaying enemies and you are not as reliant on your support.

I consider the main issue with lucian to be having to go ER every game for mana and dmg being too small on 1 item leading to not being able to snowball unless you have a support like nami or millio to amp you all game witch is very unlikely in lower elos.

In this build you dont go ER leadin to mana issues but if you can snowball POM is enough for you to stay in fights long enough. Essencially you have to reset more often and have to learn when to reset (this is an important thing to learn anyways) in order to make this work but the payoff is great because you really become a monster after 2 items and you only become stronger as the game goes on with great sustain, dmg and mobility.

Could also work with first stike and the korean lucian build just inserting voltaic as the secound item still going POM, blodline in secound tree

I'm really interested in other people's toughts on this build. After all I'm just platinum and I'm not that good of a lucian player so I might have overcooked.

hey yall I really love lucian the mf is so badass and i got such fomo not playing the game when he was on the loading screen. i got a question, is there a methodology to knowing when your E is back up? the cooldowns change so much depending on the combo and the build you have it’s not set like the other champs i know so seeing that i could have played it better sucks. how do yall know when ur E is reset? and then with navori all ur abilities? is there a trick or is it just game time ? and is there anyone i can watch to learn how to play him better? for reference im a silver 2 player and this is my first season
