I find it kinda hard to find one centralized place to look up detailed Cho'Gath's matchups that actually guide you through level-by-level laning, kill thresholds, teamfight strategies, and other more knowledge-based parts of the game (backing for items, when to chunk hp to set up a future kill, etc.), so I decided to make a website to consolidate the information I can find around the internets. I can't say I'm a good player by any stretch (plat at my best), so all of the content will need huge improvements over time, especially with the help of this sub. This website is a very very early alpha prototype, but I hope to soon be able to cover all important matchups for Cho'Gath. It would be absolutely amazing to get your feedback on how to improve this Cho'Gath database and website :)

The cooldown hit doesnt seem too bad since I dont feel like you use rocketbelt as soon as its off cd.

IMO having 10 ap less for 50 hp more seems like an all around nerf. I mainly play toplane though so having the extra hp in the buildpath isnt all that bad into the matchups that will just run you down.

General thoughts?

I looked up a 2 hour guide on YouTube that was 1 year old. He was using a movementspeed build starting Shurelya's every game into dead mans,...

I would like to know if this item is still good enough to build first?

Also items like abysmal mask and spirit visage and cosmic drive?

Howdy All, Just wondering what everyone's thinking for Cho builds in Classic. It's not clear to me that he will even be on the starting roster, but still wanted to see what others think.

What's going to be your League Classic build?

I play Cho jungle emerald/dia mmr, runes are always HOB, cheap shot, grizzly mementos, ult hunter, with axiom and celerity. i take attack speed, move speed, and either scaling hp or tenacity shards.

when is it better to take inspiration second for boots and approach velo?

i always play rocketbelt into full tank, only ever taking riftmaker 3rd item or later since i feel that not having a tank item second delays your early spikes too much and you dont get as much benefit from the hp scaling on riftmaker.

When Playing vs tanks alot of people go tank cho aswell because there is less kill pressure so they play to scale, is it a good idea to just go first strike and farm on him aswell with poke and get a lead this way?

just realized i made the million and lost my lane horribly to the tham bc i would cheese him lvl 1 just to push too much to get farmed by the sylas. so my lane was pretty much over very soon, couldnt face the tham anymore, died some more like a true noob and i got flamed and bossed around by hecarim and pyke. but after a million xp you know you just need a sweet shutdown and pour some sweet cc into the game to make a comeback. so i snacked the sylas when i could, he kind of didnt see it coming... they never do. too much cc for some...

i am just silver 2 right now, but i grinded my way up from iron 4 to s1 and love my cho a lot. lately i been hiding as ap sup and just q'd for a flex top to get back into a lane... i still dont know how to really carry hard with cho, but i feel most comfortable playing my evil dino :)

Are there any streamers thpat play cho top lane?

had to basicaly int a game as malphite because chogath wouldn't let me do anything .

I havent played Cho in a while (or league) and getting back into it. I love my big cho boy, and the usual magic pen build I used to go feels worse in Midlane, I tried the reccomended OPGG build, and I did pretty well. But he felt like an awkward AP brusier/assassin. I was good at one shotting squishies if I could land a Q and they were alone. And I could do well with the tanks. But I feel like the plan is to hide, catch off guard, kill and leave. Especially since while you build some tank items, it dosent feel enough to be in the middle of a fight.

Which might be how you're supposed to, but I am hoping to play him like the Tanky Burst mage that I am used to :(

Any build/playstyle advice would be great :D

Should chogath's passive scale with his feast stacks?

For example:

healing = (18 - 52) + 50% stacks

mana restored = (4.72 - 9.48) + 5% stacks

I looked at the ladder and I saw a couple of choices of what top players play - mostly either HoB or Grasp. I honestly have no idea when would it be best to take each rune, and also I have no idea what items are optimal on him - I saw some master Cho building rod of ages first item, which i guess makes sense on Cho?

Also, isn't riftmaker a MUST-build every time? since he gets so much value off of it, even if you wanna build tank?

I did also try heartsteel but it just feels so weak to me, idk why people build it - currently my favorite options is Rod of Ages -> Riftmaker -> Warmog's, but if they have mobility I would go rocketbelt instead of Rod.

What do you guys go if they are heavy AP, or heavy AD - do you rush hollow radiance/sunfire?

In my personal opinion its broken covenant with rose quartz chroma.

I've been playing cho support for quite a bit now. I usually run guardian but sometimes in a game that lasts similar time it will block like 3k and another game only 800. When should I run guardian and when should I not.

My build is good just having issues on which rune to run, for which type of matchups.

I just played a game where I was no doing expected feast dmg. The dmg I was dealing was around half of what I thought I would deal. I attached some pngs that show what was happening.

With the announcement of League Classic making a return, wondering how our void boi was back in the day? Was he viable in different roles/builds back then? Cheers.

That preview is all I'd have wanted, but them not even bothering with the in-game model for the Wild Rift release makes me think they don't want to bother anymore besides few people at Riot that care a ton about Cho still.

So yea let's enjoy Cho as he has been all this time for many more years to come.

I've been a chogath player since season 5, so more than a decade. I've mostly topped and floated the idea of mid and am high emerald low diamond ELO.

I just can't fathom why people go Chogath jungle. There are SO many other picks for jg that are:

• More versatile
• Scale better (although he doesn't scale bad)
• Have more mobility
• Faster clear

What is it that is driving more people to JG with him in mid-level ELO?

With his arrival in Wild Rift he has a new model (well, for the champ preview at least). When you do a close-up and wait for a bit, his idle animation reminded me that little move he did back in the OG trailer.

Cho on that trailer was THE reason I wanted to play League, so that little thing, gave me goosebumps and brought back some good memories.

Just wanted to share it with someone who may also appreciate that.

Also we're getting League-Classic so I guess we are kinda back ^^
