Anyone ever notice how Kevin just completely moved the goalposts in this discussion?

Not ten minutes prior to him saying what he said in the above pic, Stanley said “hot, beautiful, attractive, what’s the difference?”

Kevin replied “huge difference. A painting may be beautiful, but I don’t want to bang a painting.”

So by Kevin’s own logic, “hot” is defined as “would you do her.” The literal opposite of his argument in this frame. Jim just could not win with this one

There are work emails. Files. Cards. So many things he could’ve just looked up.

Jim is lazy sometimes and his charm gets him places until it blows up in his face

The office superfan blu ray collection costs

This is probably a stupid question, but I wanted to get people’s thoughts. I’m in Australia and the blu ray (region b) box set is being charged at between $375 and $450, but the American box set you can get on websites for $100 Australian dollars with the catch being you need a universal player. Which version would people recommend I get?

Watching Michael with Pam's baby

It was such a sincere moment - Jim takes Michael's phone out of his pocket, which was primed for SO. MANY. JOKES. Instead, they share a quiet, joyful moment. But watching Michael talk to the baby was like, THE SWEETEST!! made my ovaries hurt lol (s6e18 superfan episodes)

they're fine with a guy harassing and throwing things at a group who was hosting an event who rented the space, but Pam drinking sneaking drinks was a huge problem?? I say we boycott that establishment until they apologize to Micheal.

I always love it when they play board games on sitcoms - Darryl, Andy and Kevin playing the Dallas board game is gold!

Also good to see a board game that isn't Monopoly featured

Most wholesome moments/qualities from otherwise crappy people on the show?

Jan: genuinely trying encourage n inspire Pam by saying "theres always a million reasons *not* to do things" during women-in-the-workplace

Ryan: not the best example, but in spite of being very whiny about it he seemed to have fun with Pam and Michael during the michael scott paper company. I always love when Michael has a mouthful of cheeseballs (thats what she said) and tries talking on the phone, Ryan smiles and points at him as if to say "my hilarious boss right there!"

Creed: his respect for Michael by calling him boss all the time. Also showing up to Andys play and seeming to cheer and encourage him after the "i try to say goodbye but I choke" performance

Angela: Her friendship with Kevin and Oscar, specifically her ability to overcome her homophobia toward Mr. Actually and call him a friend. Let's pretend the kneecapping didnt happen... lol

What about you guys? Opinions, thoughts?

Season 1 Tier List & Mini-Review

Post image

This season is often considered the worst out of the first 7, and while I haven’t completely seen 4-7 in it’s entirety of my rewatch yet, it is so far the weakest out of the first 3, but does that mean it’s bad? Absolutely not! Even during the show’s semi-humble beginnings it still had reached a new high for all sitcoms, and as the show went on the high became even more higher!

I will say that one pretty big flaw in a lot of episodes from this season overdo the ”cringe factor.” Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for cringe comedy done right, which is why Scott’s Tots has always been among my favorites episodes of the whole show, but some scenes just had a disproportional ratio of cringe to actual comedy. A few examples I can point to is the scene from The Alliance where Roy catches Jim with Pam, while another example is the ending of Health Care, where I found the resolution of everyone walking out on Micheal more somber than actually funny, and the ending to Basketball was just plain anti-climatic in my opinion.

The real biggest flaw in my opinion was that the pilot was just really slow-paced, and while it is saved by some hilarious bits, like for example, Micheal fake-firing Pam, and of course the first Jello prank of the show, but even with all of these, the pacing still just really starts the whole season with an odd foot.

Luckily, Diversity Day did not suffer from any of these issues and overall maintained a great joke ratio, with each and every one hitting the hammer right on the nail, while also maintaining rapid fire pacing, which is why it is easily my favorite episode of the season.

Despite the few flaws mentioned above I overall thoroughly enjoyed this season, and on a scale of 1-10 I would definitely give it either an 8 or a 9, which really just goes to show how even a weak season of The Office is still an excellent sitcom season overall.

The episode where Kevin makes baby noises trying to get Pam to make breastmilk is cringey and creepy as fuck.
Kevin was such a likeable silly character until then, when he slowly starts turning into a sex pest
Agree?
