We all heard about the original plan for Sam Witwer the tank character and having a black hawk down style episode in the pov of the military showing just how lost the situation in Atlanta was, and while it sadly never happened the idea should have been the entirety of Fear the walking dead

Not to discredit the first few seasons of Fear as they are beloved for a reason but it genuinely would have been so interesting to have a actual soldier as our MC, you already have the main show that shows how normal people handled the undead why not have made Fear a series about the government first responce. Doing this solves one of twd most questioned aspect and that is just how the military fell in the first place. If you gave a series decent plot lines and fleshed out characters you could have had such a unique and nuanced prequel show then what fear did end up becoming

He is the goofiest character in the whole of the walking dead. Every time he appeared on the screen I was laughing just by him standing there. One of the most over-hated characters in the whole show. I don’t quite understand the hate. I found him to be the most realistic characters. I don’t think most of us would show up like Shane or Rick the first day lol. Most of us would definitely be like Eugene. He also redeemed himself a lot later in the show. I really don’t understand the hate.

Sam clearly was babied and sheltered by his mom throughout all of his childhood and has severe trauma from his abusive dad

What does Carol do? She threatens the boy in the worst way possible. She was completely wrong now that I’m rewatching it

There were much better ways to approach him. Would they have died anyway? Yea most likely. But Carol made matters much worse

The scene where he panics and hears carols words in his head clearly solidifies this. She absolutely fucked up his mind

We all know we're all going crazy for Daryl reuniting with Rick but aside from that which Reunion would you like to see? Now i don't know what's going to happen when the spin offs are done, but if amc really manages to make this new TWD show with the entire cast together i can't wait to see Rick reacting to Negan and his redemption arc

Which was your favorite, if you HAVE to choose? And why?

Are they similar, in your opinion, in terms of overall realism and cinematic variability: scenes, style, plot?

Personally I feel like Fear The Walking Dead is the best of all of the collections of TWD, including the original series... don't get me wrong I would not erase anything!

But if I had to rewatch either series again today, I would choose to watch Fear The Walking Dead.

Same thing with the Z Nation series: Black Summer was EVEN BETTER than the Z Nation OG series. It was far more serious than Z Nation and provided a plot that really had me invested to the point that I had to binge without passing go or collecting $200.

I always thought this was the obvious direction for the series.

Instead of making Tales of the Walking Dead an anthology centered mostly on brand-new, one-off characters, why not use it to show us what some of our favorite survivors were doing before the zombie outbreak? The series was built around standalone stories anyway, so each episode could've focused on a different character.

I would've loved episodes about Rick's last days as a sheriff, Daryl and Merle before everything fell apart, Michonne with her family, Maggie growing up on Hershel's farm, Glenn before he met Rick, or even Carol before the apocalypse. These are characters we spent years with, yet most of their pre-apocalypse lives are left to our imagination.

Instead, most of the season focused on characters we'd never met before and would never see again, with Alpha being the only major exception.

To me, that's a much more interesting anthology. The Walking Dead already had a cast of fan favorites with years of unexplored backstory, and it feels like the show completely passed on the opportunity to tell those stories.

Hi! So according to an older employee, this was filmed in my office in June of 2019. According to her, it was the house of an old cat lady. These are pictures of it after it was done filming so they had started to take the bed and stuff apart. Was it ever used? My coworkers and I would love to watch the episode. It’s used as our marketing office now! Apparently they also used an old barn we used to have on campus, but no photos of that.

Quick edit: apparently it was for an offshoot series. Not sure which one! Would still love if someone recognized it though.

But I am actually quite bored. Which is kind of crazy. It’s a story about a war torn Manhattan filled with zombies and an invading army. That premise has so much potential, and that’s not even getting into the main characters and all their personal history. Now I’m not saying it’s awful. It has its moments, but as much as it pains me to say, it feels like a slog to get through more often than not. I must admit, I’m a little bummed. I love Maggie and Negan’s dynamic (at this point, probably the only one lol). I know I’m probably not the first to post something like this, but I just gotta say it.

Went to watch The Odyssey today and I was pleasantly surprised to see Samantha morton in it! I had no idea she had a role in the movie lol. She did a splendid job with a very little screen time she had, a role which she absolutely owned. I had no doubts regarding her acting prowess after watching her effortlessly play Alpha and I always we wished she'd appear in the bigger projects. Glad that she's finally getting the chances she truly deserves.

Also It took me some time to recognise Corey Hawkins lol. When I first saw him, I kept on thinking I saw him somewhere, it clicked after few minutes that he is our very own Heath. Bro casually disappeared from TWD and spawned in The Odyssey.

I’m on my second watch, nearly done with S11. I only got to S9 on my first go.

A cool detail that I’ve noticed is that nearly every time the main characters are about to walk into a trap or ambush, there is a quick shot of a spider and its web.

It’s a fantastic bit of cinematic foreshadowing that HAS to be purposeful.

The Walking Dead seems to make a lot of use of repeating themes and symbols, like the letter “A”.

Are there any other examples of this that you can think of in TWD?

Even if you’re not ending the series, a grown up Carl looking for Rick would’ve been a nice final arc. Could have an angle where his family and Judith are mad at him for leaving

And if you don’t want to get rid of chandler Riggs, you can include flashbacks of him with adult Carl reminiscing
