I’m rewatching it and some parts just got me like “this just isn’t realistic at all” like the fact after the prison when they are “struggling” they find clothes that fit them perfectly or almost perfectly like how is this realistic? along with the fact everyone’s hair just always looks perfect like they got product or something in it

however, watching that tiny ass plane fly from America to France with only (seemingly) one stop is completely unrealistic ain't it?

I stopped watching TWD when Carl died. I read **some** of the comics when I was growing up in the early 2000's.

Anyway, I remember the pilot episode. Jesus H christ, I was HOOKED. When Carl died, I was actually pissed. Like irritably so. I stopped watching the show out of defiance.

I tried to pick it up again, but it's just not the same & doesn't haven't the same effect on me, and some of it is utterly boring. (post Carl death)

Is it worth it to try and get back into it with all the new spins off's?

Or is it blended holloywood shite that reminds you of TWD?

I always thought this was the obvious direction for the series.

Instead of making Tales of the Walking Dead an anthology centered mostly on brand-new, one-off characters, why not use it to show us what some of our favorite survivors were doing before the zombie outbreak? The series was built around standalone stories anyway, so each episode could've focused on a different character.

I would've loved episodes about Rick's last days as a sheriff, Daryl and Merle before everything fell apart, Michonne with her family, Maggie growing up on Hershel's farm, Glenn before he met Rick, or even Carol before the apocalypse. These are characters we spent years with, yet most of their pre-apocalypse lives are left to our imagination.

Instead, most of the season focused on characters we'd never met before and would never see again, with Alpha being the only major exception.

To me, that's a much more interesting anthology. The Walking Dead already had a cast of fan favorites with years of unexplored backstory, and it feels like the show completely passed on the opportunity to tell those stories.

But I am actually quite bored. Which is kind of crazy. It’s a story about a war torn Manhattan filled with zombies and an invading army. That premise has so much potential, and that’s not even getting into the main characters and all their personal history. Now I’m not saying it’s awful. It has its moments, but as much as it pains me to say, it feels like a slog to get through more often than not. I must admit, I’m a little bummed. I love Maggie and Negan’s dynamic (at this point, probably the only one lol). I know I’m probably not the first to post something like this, but I just gotta say it.

So, I was trying to come home from work at the night time, Walking Dead was coming on AMC I guess for some re run or something, The Traffic was absolutely insane. Shit was like the Purge. Everyone was swerving around each other in a rush. Trying to not be hurt. Ladies were screaming at me out their heads with their windows and saying “WALKING DEAD IS ON I GOTTA GET HOME” Saw 4 car accidents... Nearly crashed myself 6 times. Got confused and lost on the way home once i got through the 3 hour plus traffic cuz i Was taking an experimental pill inspired by Bendy and the Ink Machine that my friend invented that he also called Bendy. It was supposed to make you Feel or see that you’re like in Bendy and the Ink Machine so i when i got home i turned back on the TV and the episode of the walking dead everyone was talking about the re run of was on. Turns out it was that scene with Glen and Rick in the early days early seasons. Turns out it was the part where Glemm sends off the car alarm on accountident and the Werther’s hair it and swarm the fck outta him. But all the Walker’s were Lost Ones from BATIM And Glennn and i think Maggie were made of ink.

So, i was in Five Below on Bendy and i was browsing the five dollars and below section. I found a whistle that was for the walking dead merch and i blow into it, 75% of the time its negan yelling about Walkers and what not. Other 25% its Glemm getting his head squached or dying or his yells when he alerts all the Walkers in Season 2 Episode 6 at 32 minutes and 53 seconds with the car alarm. I play with this whistle a lot in the stoire. Makes me feel like a child again. So i buy it and some of those purple popcorn chips theyre always really trying to push on you.. When i step outside i notice theres a piece inside of it like a metal peace and it looks like more electric than most of those beeping things when you steal. I think what is this and cant get it off. A guy in a low effort negan Cosplay followed me from South Boulevard to Magnolia St and th whole time hes swinging a plastic bat. checking his phone and humming, Talked to the police when i relaize that my house was broken into twice and my familys boat where my dad keeps his beer was turned over. All the beer was either gone broken or missing. and the police said Yeah you guessed it. Surprisingly Enough there was a tracker inside of the whistle. The guy custom made it. It was confiscated because he left two weird thumbprints on a rubber ball that bounces by the sour pickle gummies. The fingomoid prints on the tracking device matched the ones on the ball. He was arrested and it was documented you can see it on Explore with us #353 at 27 minutes and 42 seconds. I reccomend watching it while you eat in the mall food court cuz thats what me and my friends did when we went to Santa in July

Which was your favorite, if you HAVE to choose? And why?

Are they similar, in your opinion, in terms of overall realism and cinematic variability: scenes, style, plot?

Personally I feel like Fear The Walking Dead is the best of all of the collections of TWD, including the original series... don't get me wrong I would not erase anything!

But if I had to rewatch either series again today, I would choose to watch Fear The Walking Dead.

Same thing with the Z Nation series: Black Summer was EVEN BETTER than the Z Nation OG series. It was far more serious than Z Nation and provided a plot that really had me invested to the point that I had to binge without passing go or collecting $200.

He is the goofiest character in the whole of the walking dead. Every time he appeared on the screen I was laughing just by him standing there. One of the most over-hated characters in the whole show. I don’t quite understand the hate. I found him to be the most realistic characters. I don’t think most of us would show up like Shane or Rick the first day lol. Most of us would definitely be like Eugene. He also redeemed himself a lot later in the show. I really don’t understand the hate.

I get it's his wife but come on she was right there, plus his son would be alive aswell and he wouldn't be all "Clear" mode and shit.

I remember people thought the big dogs of FTWD would be them eventually linking up (or even against) Rick's group

it kind of sucks that it never ended up going there imo. a war between these two players had some REAL potential

Didn’t realize recently how much TWD influenced a lot of the running jokes, or even random bits that are in Z Nation.

Understand this might miss since it’s TWD Reddit, but comment any of z nation parody moments that come from TWD that you’ve noticed.

(If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it. Great for a good amount of seasons and then goes on a weird path but still a good watch)

What is the name of the martial art Brandon Carver uses when fighting Maggie and Negan?

Obviously season 2 is already considered good but IMO it is one of the best seasons of TWD ever. The story telling, character development, and pacing of the season is done so well. It captures how everyone is facing the reality and adjusting to the apocalypse. Shane's descend into darkness and obsession with lori is written and captured so well. The Rick, Lori, Shane dynamic is unmatched. Hershels realization of what the world has come to and facing the truth. Dale trying to hold onto Humanity. And so so many good character arcs. It feels like the most realistic season of any post-apocalyptic show I've ever seen

I’m on my second watch, nearly done with S11. I only got to S9 on my first go.

A cool detail that I’ve noticed is that nearly every time the main characters are about to walk into a trap or ambush, there is a quick shot of a spider and its web.

It’s a fantastic bit of cinematic foreshadowing that HAS to be purposeful.

The Walking Dead seems to make a lot of use of repeating themes and symbols, like the letter “A”.
