I'm not really big on ships in this show, but i've noticed a lot of people say that Dean and Jo wouldn't have worked because he saw her as a sister and i'm just confused because where was that ever implied on his end lol?? There's been discourse about her age but according to wiki, she was born in 1985, so that would make her 21 at the time, and six years younger than Dean.

He flirted with her from the get-go and she reciprocated, but then he basically told her he was in a bad place at the time because it hadn't been long since John died. Then Jo found out about the mess between her dad's death and the connection to John in 2x6, got angry, and Dean decided to step back because it seemed like she was kinda blaming him for it...? Then in 2x14 after Dean gets shot, she stitched him up and offered to help him find Sam, but he replied with "i'm not getting your blood on my hands". Of course he said that because he didn't wanna put her in danger, but i've always thought it also had something to do with Dean not wanting to repeat history and being the reason Jo dies or gets badly injured, like what happened between their fathers. And i'm pretty sure that's the last we see of Jo and Ellen until season 5.

In 5x10, literally the night before Jo and Ellen die, Dean pretty much gives her the whole "last night on earth" speech making it very clear he wants to sleep with her, but she rejected him ofc. Then he kisses her right before she takes her last breath, and it was very much a romantic kiss imo. They also share another intimate moment in the later seasons (i don't remember when)...but ig i'm just confused as to why people say Dean saw her as a sister when he very much did not.

He was so college boy in them I love it. But then after hitting the road with Dean he ended up picking up Deans style with all the flannel.

Personally, I really don't like them. I don't hate them, but I don't like them either.

I know some people find them funny, but they just don't work for me. Every time they show up, I feel like they interrupt the flow of the episode instead of adding anything to it. I never found their humor that entertaining.

They do have a few funny moments, but if their episodes were removed entirely, I honestly don't think the show would lose much. That's unlike other funny episodes, such as "Changing Channels" or "The French Mistake," which are hilarious while still being memorable and important to the series.

I'm curious if I'm in the minority here, because I often see people who seem to enjoy them. What do you think?

I got into SPN just about a month ago because of Tumblr fanfic, but in the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that everyone in my age demographic and younger is all of the sudden watching SPN for the first time!

Not only watching it, but also starting to dress like Sam and Dean Winchester lol? And listen to the music as well?

Is there some kind of a trend I’m not aware of? It’s literally EVERYONE all of a sudden!

I don't have anyone to talk to about this, and I just think it's a huge similarity. I rewatched Supernatural, season 4, episode 8, and it's about people whose wishes are granted but go wrong. There's a gift similar to Professor Crocker's who's with a really beautiful woman. He also wished, in his own words, that "she would love him more than anything in the whole world," and that struck me as incredibly similar. I thought it was a huge coincidence, but just like Nikki, she loses control of her body and only thinks about him. When the Winchesters try to undo the wish, she tries to stop them. She doesn't focus solely on them specifically, but it seemed like a strong parallel to Obsession.

The choice of traveling to the future (Even if Henry goes back later) makes John grow up without his father in that timeline (because all those years in John life his father was in the future nit with him) so in that future his father has disappeared anyway

if he travels back to the past, that timeline is rewritten but while Henry is in the future his son is never going to be a "Men of letters"

Do you guys think Duane was possessed by a demon the entire time? Do you think his crying/pleading for Dean to not shoot him was all an act or was that actually him and the possession happened after?

Croatoan was filled with a lot of plot twists. Duane looking like a potential bad guy from Sam's visions to Duane looking like a good guy when Dean didn't shoot him to Duane back to being a demon who killed the last remaining survivors in the town.

Did we also ever find out why Sam was immune to the Croatoan virus? Was it because of the demon blood? I assume it is but I wonder if there was another explanation for it. And we never found out what happened to the rest of the townies, right? I'm assuming the demons offed their real counterparts and then had them dumped somewhere like Lucifer had possessed townies buried in a later season

Literally this is who Dean saw as he held Sam in his arms after Jake stabbed him. Not the giant 24 year old moose but the little boy he raised.

Oh how that shit hurts. Any time Sam is unconscious or injuries or on the verge of death that is who he sees. Like? It hurts but it’s so beautiful too? Like??? 😭💔

These two, their codependency and their brotherhood holy moly

12 and 13 were the weakest part for me, the story elements just felt very random even for supernaturals standards - from mary returning to british men of letters to parallel universes and jack trying to be human, the plot was a wildcard at this point introducing a lot of different things but not fully sticking to one.

S14 gave me hope again, even if michael/dean was a bit poorly excecuted overall - i still liked jensens performance a lot - especially the opening scene of S14 where he speaks arabic. Nick missing lucifer and going crazy was also exciting to watch - didnt know mark pellegrino before but he is an amazing actor and stole every scene he was part of from S5-15. Chuck was one of the best villains and i really appreciate that his presence brought back high stakes again which were just missing in 12 and 13. Both Seasons also had great finales, i know many dont like Carry On and even if deans death felt random and his monologue before dying was comedically long, it still gave me a satisfying ending with sam moving on, having a family, growing old and becoming the first hunter that was granted a natural death - leading to the brothers and the impala in heaven.

My intention was to stop after season 5 because i read that this was supposed to be the original ending, but i‘m glad i watched every season. What a great show.

I hate how John treats Sam and Dean in two completely different shitty ways.

With Dean, he always expected him to stop being a child and act like a responsible adult. In S1E18, he blames Dean for being a kid for one moment instead of being Sam's father... which was John's job, not Dean's. Then again in S9E7, he leaves 16-year-old Dean in a boys' home for two months like he isn't even his son.

On the other hand, with Sam, it was the complete opposite. John never seemed willing to let him have a life of his own. He treated him like a child who had to be watched 24/7. When Sam wanted to go to university and have a normal life, John wasn't supportive at all. Instead, he pushed him away for years.

He was a horrible father to both of them, but it still amazes me how he managed to fail each of them in completely different ways, as if being a terrible dad in one way wasn't enough.

Watching Supernatural with my teen. Did anyone else notice the screaming kid in the Cub Scout picture? Like that poor kid had nothing to do with the story?

I've been getting the sense that quite a lot of people are doing the same thing I'm doing, which is- Binging Supernatural.

I think there's a perfectly logical reason as to why Supernatural has resurged in popularity while somehow appealing to quite a lot of people- I started binging AFTER I finished Season 5 of THE BOYS.

Did I go to Supernatural because I was hoping for something more satisfying? Did I go to Supernatural because it looked interesting while having a die hard fan base? Little bit of Column A, lil bit of Column B.

One of the funniest things about rewatching Supernatural at this time is coming across shows like "Wishful Thinking", a case that involves a nebbish dweeb using a magic wish device to make a girl fall head over heels in love with him. coughOBSESSIONcough (Not saying that Obsession ripped off SPN; the director has said directly that it was a SImpsons episode that helped the plot click into place for him.

(Even funnier- The first thing the boys encounter is a giant, depressed teddy BEAR. Name of the main character in Obsession? Baron AKA "Bear". The similarities don't even stop there lol)

The Colt was literally THE mythical object in the Supernatural universe. It was there since S1, it was found by John Winchester, (decades before by Sam and Dean 2×) shot by him and his sons in multiple eras, killed Azazel and even tho they lost it more than once the Colt always found the way back to the Winchesters.

There was always as special relationship between the Colt and the family.

I really don't know why they didn't implement it in the finale. It could've been such a great story. Sam spending multiple seasons repairing it, wich would be perfect because he was the only one who had some kind of relationship to Samuel Colt. From his time with Rowena he could've found a way to infuse it with the power of an Archangel or so, to at least hurt Chuck in the finale.

The final showdown could've had this epic moment where Sam draws the Colt out of nowhere and shoots one Final Bullet with it.
