Barry and his friends decide to form a boy band and try to reclaim their youth. They do a warm up routine in a dance studio and Barry sings a song with the lyrics "If you are under 18 then I am just not your guy." It is exactly as funny as it sounds. Hilarious

I found their homages of "Cheers" and "The Golden Girls" to be the funniest, and they were able to bring back four original cast members for the former. It turned out to be one of the last screen roles for both Kirstie Alley and George Wendt.

"The Wonder Years" also got a great nod in one of the final seasons, complete with Dan Lauria guest starring as a neighbor.

It's a shame that they never referenced "Full House", from my knowledge at least.

Which of their 80's TV show homages did you like the best?

In my opinion, Dana and Rowan Blanchard's Jackie were Adam's best girlfriends, since they had cute moments, and Sean Giambrone had decent chemistry with both Rowan and Natalie Alyn Lind.

But while Dana was his first love, he seemed to have more in common with Jackie #1, since they were both self proclaimed nerds, and she was able to keep him grounded.

Who did you like Adam with the best?

In my opinion, part of what caused the show's humour to dwindle in the later seasons was the characters standing around, explaining exactly why the joke was supposed to be funny, instead of allowing the audience to understand it by themselves.

It's probably because I'm a fan of subtle humour, and that the earlier episodes didn't really rely on this. I noticed that they used it more as time went on.

It's probably a silly nitpick, but did it slightly annoy anyone else?

Completely forgot they got Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger, Kirstie Alley, and George Wendt all in one episode. Geoff trying to start an 80s UberEats and sending Murray for a cheesesteak was hilarious. Classic episode.

Which characters outside of the family did you think were the funniest?

My personal favourites were Mr. Glascott, The JTP and Coach Mellor. They'd always guarantee to get me chuckling at least once an episode.

If I had to pick a character whom I didn't find funny, it would possibly be Johnny Atkins, though maybe I'm just not a fan of the character's deadpan humour. Ditto for Carla.

Which supporting characters made you laugh the most?

Legitimately I think this is my favorite episode of The Goldbergs.

They've tackled 80's nostalgia with "The Goldbergs", and gone back to the 90's with "Schooled", so what do you think a hypothetical show harkening back to 00's nostalgia would have consisted of?

In my book, there'd probably be a few references to Mean Girls,The OC, Gossip Girl or Destiny's Child, with everyone wearing uggs, cargo pants or tons of denim.

Would you like to see your favourite characters navigating the 00's?

What are your opinions on the closing montages, where the characters make up from that episode's conflict, Patton Oswalt preaches about the importance of family, and an upbeat 80's song plays on the soundtrack?

Some of my friends find them to be a little cheesy, and simply skip over them, but I personally enjoy them.

After 20 minutes or so of comedy, it's nice to have the heartwarming moments of the characters forgiving each other. It reminds me of classic 80's sitcoms, which plays into the nostalgic factor.

What are your own opinions?

What if Community, The Goldbergs, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, The Blacklist and Brooklyn Nine Nine existed in one universe?

I always liked whenever Uncle Marvin would turn up, Dan Fogler really had excellent comic timing with the rest of the cast, especially Jeff Garlin.

Even when the quality started to drop in the later seasons, his episodes were typically the sole bright spots.

Which is your favourite Marvin Moment/Quote?

Does anyone else cringe at the ending scenes or am I just cold hearted? They feel so forced and inauthentic. They're all being clowns the whole time then suddenly get serious for an emotional/lesson learned scene? Especially Barry who goes from dumb as rocks to suddenly being so wise.

So my wife and I are finally watching season 9 for the first time. (I know it’s extremely late. We didn’t have Hulu or cable for a long time.) I love The Goldbergs! I’ve enjoyed it for the most part. But good heavens! What the hell happened to this show?! The quality drops off tremendously at season 9! It was already starting to go bad in season 8. But this season is worse. Did anyone else notices this, or feel the same when they watched it? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Who was your favourite JTP member?

I liked Matt Bradley the most, as he was the sole voice of reason to Barry's schemes.

I would be down for a JTP spinoff, it'd be neat to see the actors reprise their roles. They were always fun to watch.

I can remember a machine that they used but I don't know what it's called and I hope they still make them anyway it was a white machine that was printing stuff as Erica wrote there was a small screen so one could see if they made any mistakes so hopefully if anyone here knows what I'm talking about please tell me

reading this book homeschooled by Stefan Merrill Block and the mother in the book reminds me of Beverly Goldberg.

I've watched all of "The Goldbergs", and none of the 90's set spinoff, "Schooled."

Would you recommend watching it to see the characters again, or is it the exact same, only with 90's nostalgia?

I liked Erica in the first few seasons, but then after she got together with Geoff, most of her storylines revolved exclusively around him or their relationship issues.

She spent most of the first seasons ignoring his obvious crush on her, and then when he's in a relationship, she moans over no longer be able to be with him.

Once they became a couple, Erica takes Geoff for granted, especially after they get married.

I honestly wish that they'd kept her ambitions to be a lawyer, and give her something to be, other than Geoff's wife, and Muriel's mother.

Does anyone else agree?
