I know it’s often mentioned how the Nibbler-Fry plot was planned from Space Pilot, because you can see Nibbler’s shadow from when he (later revealed) pushed him into the freezer.
Watching the first Anthology of Interest just now, I noticed for the first time that in the segment where Fry doesn’t get frozen, Nibbler’s shadow is missing!
Maybe everyone already knew this but me, but it’s crazy to me that they put this much effort into the details of that plot. Like - this was a what-if scenario in an anthology episode; there was no need to remove the shadow because a) by that point in the series Nibbler’s identity hadn’t been revealed, and b) it’s a detail that even after countless rewatches I only just noticed, which I assume to mean most fans might not have either - i.e. so insignificant that its absence would equally have gone unnoticed.
Anyway, just blown away at the level of detail Groening and Cohen put into this show.
Who else already knew about this little detail?
