Yes, The Originals was not based on any of her books but she was responsible for the creation of Klaus. And without her, Klaus Mikaelson would not exist today. RIP.

[SIRELINE] The sireline situation explained FULLY.

This is being asked ad nauseam so I thought I would spell it out for you all to stop the constant posts about it.

The sireline is the connection between an Original, such as Niklaus, and his (or her!) progeny who he creates with his blood. This applies to all vampires (but not all hybrids) and goes on down the line as more are made by each vampire that came before. This connection stems from the spell that Esther Mikaelson used to create the Originals in 1001 AD, as explained by Kol Mikaelson in Season 3 of The Originals.

Sireline status:

Niklaus broken / NOT destroyed - his sireline was severed by Davina and the Strix coven in Season 3 (Episode: A Streetcar Named Desire ). It resulted in him having no connection to his progeny anymore (and also the resurrection of Kol thankfully!). Characters such as Caroline are under no threat of death if Klaus dies.

Elijah broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated when the Hollow killed Elijah in Season 4 (Episode: Queen Death ). He was later resurrected but his sireline remained dead.

Rebekah intact - her sireline is intact, the only remaining one from inception in the year 1001, as of The Originals finale (August 2018).

Kol broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 4 (Episode: A View to a Kill ). Could possibly create a new sireline beginning now...

Finn broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 3 (Episode: The Murder of One ).

Mikael broken / destroyed - his sireline would have certainly been eradicated in TVD Season 3 when Klaus killed him with white oak (Episode: Homecoming) and also in TO Season 2 when he once again had a run in with Klaus who has the indestructible white oak stake (Episode: Night Has A Thousand Eyes). Although Mikael tended towards hating the vampire race, so it may be less likely that he even sired a bloodline at all.

Ultimately it isn't known if a sireline can be started again once destroyed due to the death of the Original who 'begat' the line. Obviously the remaining Mikaelsons can still sire progeny so one would assume that a new sireline could be created by Kol.

EDIT: It has been pointed out that due to the spell used to create the 'Beast', Marcel may well be able to create his own sireline due to it being reverse engineered Immortality Spell that Esther used on her children/husband. (Thank you /u/SlimReaper85)

EDIT 2: Sticky status woohoo! Also Mikael's sireline added for accuracy. (Thank you /u/NiklausShepard)

EDIT 3: As /u/Xil_Jam333 said below, it is likely that Mikael never actually sired a bloodline due to hating the vampire race. There is no proof either way of this but it does seem likely, although either way they are all dead!

EDIT 4: Per /u/ursulazsenya I have further explained that Klaus' sireline is severed but NOT destroyed (Caroline etc) as I had already said due to Davina & the Strix coven performing the blood spell to sever sirelines...

Who Should Have Been the Upgraded Original?

A lot of people on this subreddit are still upset that Marcel became the Upgraded Original and ultimately surpassed the Mikaelsons in power. So, if it weren't Marcel, who do you think should have become the Upgraded Original instead?

The Originals

PLEASE NO SPOILERS. I'm giving The Originals another go currently. I tried watching it years ago and stopped because I found it boring, and I'm not actually a huge fan of any of the originals hah.

The parts I remember actually haven't even happened yet, so I must have made it at least into season 2 last time.... Currently in the middle of season 1.

But anyway, I just wanted to throw some random thoughts out there as a sort of first time viewer (second time with basically no memory of it ha)

Still not sure how I feel about Cami, but she looks so similar to Jo from TVD. 😭 Like Jo in a blonde wig, and I think that's endearing her to me.

Not really a fan of Marcel and Rebekah. I feel like I could, but I don't think the writing has been very good for them. We get random flashbacks, and then they have random scenes together where they talk about their past love. But no one ever chooses Rebekah. I feel bad for her because most people treat her like shit.

Speaking of Rebekah, I do enjoy her a bit more on TO than TVD. She was too teenager on TVD, I'm glad she gets to be more mature here.

Hayley has grown on me. And I like her and Elijah even though their build-up hasn't been the best either? Like, they've been stealing glances, but I swear they barely had any conversations in those early episodes. But they have great chemistry.

I'm waiting to see how Cami and Klaus interact later, I know people ship them. But so far all he's done is compel the poor woman.

I remember not liking Davina last time, but I'm pretty okay with her this time around.

That's all I got for random thoughts ha.

What if Cariba was casted in the show

It's such a missed opportunity that they didn't cast cariba in the show since the actor of Lucien got casted, it will be such a nice reunion for the three of them, I also want Indiana to be casted but she fits in tvd more than to. I love the concept of her being a witch since Claire is a vampire and Phoebe is a werewolf/hybrid, actually I'm thinking of making a fanfic of legacies we're she's a witch that teaches in the Salvatore school and is closed to hope.

Rebekah’s absence?!

Hey! I’m newish to the originals fandom and I started off with vampire diaries. I started watching the originals mainly because my love for Rebekah and klaus, and I can’t help but notice she’s literally barely in the show. I’m on season 3 and it’s like she always has an excuse why she has to leave or why she has to disappear. It sucks because I love her character so much. Can someone let me know if she starts to make more appearances after this season at least? I read somewhere that she got pregnant mid filming and she decided to head back to Australia, I’m not sure how true this is. Either way I need more rebekahhhđŸ„ČđŸ„Č

The Mikaelson Bench

Went to New Orleans for a multitude of reasons but one of the bigger reasons was to see the bench Klaus and Elijah sat on at the end of the Originals. I saw it technically but sadly the plaque was stolen

I would've loved to read Klaus's memoirs, written by Cami.

Only reason I'm bringing it up is because I forgot that stenographer was the position Klaus hired Cami for. I don't know why I thought it was solely as his therapist. And then when I recently watch season 5, Hope says that she read the memoir. Man, that would've been a great read.

Elijah's plan makes no sense here.

Post image

To start, I've got to say that after Esther tortured Elijah, he was making bad decisions left and right—but this one makes the least sense.

We know Marcel's plan here was to bait the Originals into killing him because he had already taken the serum. However, this plan realistically makes zero sense because Elijah had already seen this happen before. Lucien did the exact same thing, nearly bar for bar. It is not like Elijah went for decapitation, which is something an Original probably cannot regenerate from. Instead, he went for the heart, the exact same spot Lucien came back to life from.

The reason I think an Original cannot come back to life from decapitation is largely because they are indestructible and unable to be beheaded. It would be pointless to make them indestructible if they can just regrow their head. Of course, that's only my speculation. Even if it's false, it's still far better than ripping out Marcel's heart, something we know Originals can regrow. There are always just neck snaps, which shouldn't trigger it.

On an unrelated note, if we want to be honest, both Elijah and Klaus have super hearing. They logically should have heard that there was no liquid in the container, but that just plot, so it is what it is. Sometimes I wonder what the point of giving them super hearing was when they rarely utilize it.

I remember watching a specific episode where the mikealson are deciding on what to do with Esther body . They were talking about concecrating her body which would make hope a New Orleans witch . Now personally I think that is when where she got her power from considering that she doesn’t show power till after . It was before cami was in the car with baby hope and Elijah blew the safe house and hope stop the car with her magic

I think Bonnie and Elijah could’ve been so cute. Bonnie always put her friends first and Elijah always protected and followed Klaus. I think their personalities would go perfectly with each other. Both of them could’ve been so good for each other and I’ll die on that hill.

Création d'une nouvelle faction

Hello! I'm new to the fandom and, while watching the show (and especially The Originals), I've always wanted to create a faction.

This species is called the Detraquers (also known as Grimms or Grim Reapers, but I will refer to them as Detraquers). They were created by Death itself, but ordinary souls can also become Detraquers. They are unknown to the world of the living, although certain beings are aware of their existence but wisely keep silent.

Their function is to guard the Realm of the Dead, also known as Purgatory. It is in this realm that all souls end up, and it is where the plane known as "Peace" is located. The Realm of the Dead is neither Heaven nor Hell: it is simply where all souls go. The Detraquers are tasked with protecting Purgatory and collecting the souls of people who have just died. They have no right to interact with the living or interfere in their affairs.

The Detraquers also have another job: hunting down anyone who has escaped Death. Those who survived an accident, a fatal illness, or who survived thanks to magic are hunted down by them. They take it upon themselves to punish them in the Prison of the Dead, where they torture and bring hell to these cheaters of nature.

The highest authority of the Detraquers is Death, but their direct leader is the Keeper of Souls. His role is to watch over the souls in Purgatory. He commands all the Detraquers and sits on the Throne of Death to manifest his authority, as he is the Hand of Death in person.

Abilities and Powers of the Detraquers:

Interdimensional Travel: Ability to travel between the world of the living and the world of the dead at will.

Soul Extraction and Absorption: They can rip out the souls of living people and devour souls.

Invisibility: They can become completely invisible.

Weather Control: When they intervene in the world of the living, the sky becomes cloudy and a stormy rain accompanies their arrival.

Magic Nullification: The spells of the living have no effect on them.

Invulnerability: Only Death itself can destroy a Detraquer.

Rules and Restrictions:

The Detraquers are strictly forbidden from interfering in the affairs of the living. They cannot attack people who are not linked to their mission and are forbidden from being seen by the living. The Leader of the Detraquers: TheGuardian of Souls

The secret identity of the Guardian of Souls is none other than Henrik Mikaelson, the youngest member of the Mikaelson family, whose death originally drove Esther to create vampirism.

When Esther created the first vampires, Death flew into a rage. Death summoned Henrik’s soul, intending to devour it and then wipe out the rest of his family. But young Henrik begged Death to spare his loved ones, promising he would do absolutely anything in return.

Intrigued by this request, Death observed Henrik's soul: it was surprisingly powerful, even after spending years in Purgatory (since time passes much faster there than among the living: what was a few months in the real world felt like years to Henrik).

Seeing Henrik's strength of character, Death offered him a deal: he would become Death's agent and work for Death until the end of their pact. As long as Henrik serves Death, Death will not touch the Mikaelson family. It is solely because of this pact that vampires were able to continue existing. Furthermore, vampires ended up being useful to Death, as they are predators who cause countless deaths (like Klaus, Kol, or Stefan Salvatore).

After slaving away for centuries, Henrik eventually became the leader of the Detraquers. As a reward, Death granted him a body with wings to mark his superior rank.

Henrik's Powers and Abilities:

Physical Form and Flight: Thanks to his wings and the body granted by Death, he can fly and move freely in the living world.

Magic Absorption: He has the ability to absorb magic, exactly like a Siphon witch.

Necromancy and Servants: Henrik can bring the recently deceased back to life. These resurrected people become immortal (though they still feel pain) and are bound to Henrik by a bond of absolute loyalty (sire bond). They cannot help but want to be useful to him. When Henrik isn't around, they act normally, but as soon as he is near, they will do anything to obey him. (Note: This is an ability Henrik developed on his own when he became a Detraquer, not something given to him by Death).

Power Level: Henrik is extremely powerful, on par with a Tribrid.

Weaknesses and Balancing Rules:

The Heart: In the world of the dead, Henrik has no weaknesses. However, for him to interact with the world of the living, Nature demanded a trade-off: his physical heart is not in his chest. Why? Quite simply because Henrik is too physically powerful to leave any chance of defeating him normally, so his heart was removed from his body and stored in a chest secured by Henrik himself.

Loss of Physical Form: If someone manages to find and destroy his heart in the chest, Henrik does not die permanently—since he is already dead—but his physical body is destroyed. He then reverts to his normal Detraquer appearance (a skeletal body). Under this form, Nature forbids him from interacting with or being seen by the living. Since Death only granted him one physical body, losing his heart means losing the ability to walk among the living forever, meaning he won't be able to get revenge after a defeat.

How to Defeat Him: He can be defeated through cunning (by finding and destroying his heart box) or if Death decides to abandon him one day.

What about other dimensions (The Other Side, Cade's Hell)?

One might wonder why Death did nothing about the astral plane created by witches (The Other Side) or the dimension created by Arcadius (Cade). In reality, Death lets it slide because these temporary dimensions always end up collapsing or spilling their souls into Purgatory sooner or later. And those who create these immortality spells end up paying a heavy price: once they arrive in Purgatory, Death shows unmatched cruelty toward those who dared to defy the balance. A Secondary Faction: The Agents of Death (Living World)

Since the Detraquers are strictly forbidden from interacting with the world of the living, and Henrik cannot be everywhere at once, he had to get creative: he recruited mortals.

This secondary faction is mainly composed of humans and witches. Most of them don't even know they are indirectly working for the Realm of the Dead! They simply believe they belong to a very powerful, secretive organization.

Their Missions:

Retrieving Relics of Death: Tracking down and securing magical or sacred objects from the dead world that ended up scattered among the living (which sometimes grant supernatural powers to those who possess them).

Hunting Down "Anomalies": Eliminating creatures that shouldn't exist in the living world or killing those who stole these relics.

Hunting Possessor Ghosts: Tracking down souls that escaped Purgatory and took possession of human bodies in the living world.

In exchange for their services, Henrik rewards them with money, political influence, protection, or immense wealth. This faction operates very autonomously, and its members have become top-tier supernatural hunters.

Klaus Mikaelson's Fate in Purgatory

After his death (following the end of The Originals), Klaus Mikaelson finds himself trapped somewhere deep within Purgatory. PS: English isn't my first language, so I used Gemini to help translate my thoughts into English and brainstorm extra details. Feel free to share your ideas or suggestions to add to this!

Finished my first watch of the show

I’ve been watching the show for the first time the last several months, and tonight I watched the finale from our room at the Hotel Royal in New Orleans. Wow, what an ending.

We went to the exterior of the “compound”, and then checked into the Hotel Royal, hung out in the courtyard, and then watched the finale in our room, then went down to the bench and saw the plaque.

I couldn’t think of a better way to finish the show and my first watch through!
