Venting I struggle to find the motivation to do things I should enjoy in theory. Like just playing a video game or something. I don't know why, but it just feels wrong to do anything for fun now.

I just feel guilty for existing and like I should be doing anything else. I'm also just exhausted all of the time.

18 and lonely, tell me why

Im moved a lot when i was young i always made new friends but never close friends.

Now im 18 and me and my ex broke up about 5 months ago, i was alone before meeting her and now again.

I’m traveling in Asia since more then 3 months,
i lived in Japan and the Philippines before.

I meet alot of people during my trip.

Even tho i’m not living a normal 18yo life i can’t make friends.

I’m not shy or anything otherwise i wouldn’t be able to Solo Travel move abroad etc.

But why can’t i make good friends that have the same interests as me?

It seems like i’m made to be lonely no mather what or where i can’t make friends.

Venting No one listens to me

No one ever listens to me, never had anyone I could really talk to about how I feel.

The only person who listens to me is my counsellor, whose job it is, is to pretend to care about my problems.

I feel so empty and sad all the time. I hate my life. I try to be open and listen to others, but nobody listens to me or sees me.

I wish I could just cry into someone's arms, but I'm stuck on Reddit complaining about my shit life.

Making new friends as an adult

I’m 23 now and the biggest difference in life since growing up is having friends. When I was younger I had loads of friends and the only thing that seemed to matter was whether you got along. As time passed I outgrew a lot of those people by taking better care of myself and working towards things I truly care about.

How can you go about making new friends as an adult? I get the idea of familiarity, being where people are, slowly warming up to people, but that never seems to work.

Any advice is welcome because honestly I never learnt to make friends, they always appeared randomly and it’s hard to say how it ever happened. I kind of wish things still worked like that but everyone has their group and if you’re beyond that you stay a stranger

Do we need friends??

I was born in a village, but when I was four years old, I moved to the nearest town, where my grandmother (my mother’s mother) lives. I studied there until I completed my degree at the age of 20. I had some very good friends in my street, but I had to return to my village because I didn’t have a job, and my parents wanted me to help them with the farm work.

At first, I didn’t think much about it, but after a few days, I started missing my friends a lot. However, I couldn’t contact them because they never tried to call me either. It has been almost six months now. I have visited the town a few times during festivals, but I don’t feel the same way I used to. I tried making friends in my village, but they are different from my friends in town. Since returning to my village, I have become addicted to my mobile phone because I use it to escape my loneliness.

Now, I have two options. First, my father is trying to get a bank loan to build a new house, and he said he would give me some money for coaching, although I haven’t chosen a course yet. Second, I could find a job in the town so that I can live near my friends again.

I don’t know whether my friends are still the same or whether I have changed a lot. I also don’t know if choosing the second option would actually make me happy, because the salary might not be very high.

If I choose coaching, I know that I hate working in the fields. So, what should I choose? Should I prepare for government exams, or should I learn computer skills such as data analytics? Please give me some wise advice.

Venting No one has ever fully understood me.

I am 19 years old, and throughout all years of my life, I feel like there has never been a person who truly understands me. No one who I feel comfortable trusting all of me to. Don’t know if this is the right place to talk, because, I have many friends, and I’ve been able to meet new people in the past many times. But as close I can be socially, I don’t think there’s a single person who I feel like has understood me to a point where I can trust them fully. I’ve gotten close, there are people who I can bond and connect with over certain emotional issues, but not one who I feel is all “there”. On the outside, I’ve learned to behave in a more mature manner, but inside, I think I’m finally beginning to realize; I am an incredibly sensitive person. And I absolutely hate it. A meaningless, playful comment can genuinely ruin my day sometimes, and for some reason, my trust in that person will never be the same. It’s such an aspect I hate about myself because I feel so weak and immature having these thoughts, which I assume could be why I suppress with from the outside. When I was little, I would have much more trouble suppressing these emotions, and it would end in me bursting out, which has NEVER ended well. I’ve completely lost friendships in my childhood due to it. So now, when something like this happens (and it happens all the time), I just bottle it in and on the outside I pretend not to care. Because I know it’s completely stupid and worthless to even express an ounce of it. I don’t think I have ever told a single soul in my life about this intense trait of mine, because something inside me just can’t seem to trust opening up to anybody about it. My mind depicts it as a “barrier”, a sort of wall made out of elastic material, where I reside behind. And everyone else I’ve ever known is on the other side. They can get close, they can try and stretch the barrier to reach me, but no one has ever broken through. It’s just impossible. One of the worst feelings is thinking someone has finally broken the barrier due to how much I think they understand me, only for them to say one little thing that makes me realize, “Nevermind, they’re just like the rest.” I’ve searched for so long, the fact I still haven’t found someone who’s broken this barrier, I’m beginning to think, maybe it truly was never meant to be broken? Maybe this world just isn’t a place that can understand me. This post right here genuinely might be one of the first times I’m putting this amount of my inner thoughts into words, and honestly, I don’t even know if I’m expressing myself fully here. God I don’t even know why I’m writing this much, I don’t expect to find anyone here who can break the barrier. But I guess it just feels good to let it out for the first time, instead of bottling it up in my head for another 19 years.

Venting Tired of being single…

Sorry if my writing isn’t that good or clear I’m writing this as it’s 2 am and I’m pretty tired right now

I (20M) am just tired of being single, I’ve been single for all my life and have never had a girlfriend, nor have done anything with a girl. I think the main reasons I dislike and am tired of it is because it feels like I’m missing out since the majority of people especially my friends nowadays are in some sorta relationship.

Im a pretty awkward and nervous guy have always been and talking to people in general is a struggle for me unless I actually know them it even more of a struggle for me if I happen to find the person attractive. It also doesn’t help that I’m a huge nerd about stuff many people would find “boring” or uninteresting since I’m into stuff like metaphysics, theology, religion, history, religion and philosophy.

I like to study, read and interact with these things for hours not because I want to feel or seem smart I’ve never really been that inelegant if I’m being honest but because I have a genuine interest in them. It honestly sometimes feels like I’m never really gonna find a partner who I can chat with or relate to that much since not many people are into these things especially woman. (Not saying there isn’t any who are interested in them just that I never really meet one who was)

It also doesn’t help that I’m not necessarily that attractive if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m ugly or unattractive I’m just average looking at best.

That’s about it thanks to anyone who actually read this I just wanted to vent my frustration of being single.

Venting Her existence has become my biggest pain.

I don't know if anyone has been in this situation.

I'm deeply in love with my girlfriend. I would do anything for her. I used to travel 7 hours just to see her and then another 7 hours back home, and I never felt it was a burden because seeing her made me happy.

I always try my best to make her feel loved and cared for. I put in a lot of effort because I truly want her to be happy.

The problem is that I don't feel the same from her. Even though we are in a relationship, she often treats me like I'm just a normal person. She doesn't show love or excitement the way I do. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who is emotionally invested.

Because of this, my feelings keep growing, but so does the pain. I think about her all the time, and now it's affecting me mentally. It has reached a point where her existence itself has become painful for me because I love her so much but don't feel that love back in the same way.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I expecting too much, or is this relationship becoming unhealthy for me?

I would really appreciate some honest advice.

Venting Forming connections have become exhausting

I'm tired of just being dissapointed everytime...The cost of having that slither of faith and holding on to hope just hurts now, I'm aware that I'm an introverted person but I really do appreciate people who approach and actually talk to me.

I'm still quite young...The first year of my senior year and I used to be that kind of person that's just jolly and can do fine solo but suddenly why does it just feel empty when I have no one left, It feels as if I was robbed of something precious that I couldn't get back

I'm asking this community on some ways on how to deal with this new emotion I'm experiencing and I really do appreciate anything...(As long as it's with good intentions)

Anyways that's all byeeee

Real people or just marketing? Experiences with this new platform?

Hi everyone,

I recently heard about a platform that claims to have only real, verified people—no bots, no fake profiles, and no bought followers.

It almost sounds too good to be true, so I wanted to ask:

What's the community actually like? Are there plenty of active users, or is it pretty quiet? Do you really feel safe there, or is that just marketing? Can you meet people who just want to chat, or is it mainly another business networking platform? I'd love to hear some honest experiences. Thanks!

Venting I am sorry for being incompetent

I've always done my best. I can't be what my family wants. I can't be what anyone wants.

I don't want to go out. Whenever someone looks at me, I feel like I want to die because I'm so disgusting.

I'm never enough I never will be And now, when I fail because I didn't put in any effort, my idiotic brain still dares to feel bad.

Of course I failed It's what I do, and it barely feels any different than succeeding.

Unconditional love doesn't exist for me only when I am useful only then people dare to talk to this talking trash can.

And what do i need to do?

Be more useful so i am worthy of being recognized?

Earn a lot of money so i can have some value?

I hate this and I am sad I'm not sure what to do next.

Everytime I try to make friends I eventually get cut out. I just want to feel like I belong somewhere. I’m in my 30s and I just once again lost my squad because they got pissy I gamed with someone else for the first time ever.

I explained that person didn’t want to be in a group chat and I’d game with them right after but they’ve ditched me for 3 days now. The group chat has gone silent so there’s definitely a new one without me. Here comes the insomnia, the self loathing, the silence that’s so loud

Venting I don't know what else to do

I am a 25 year old. I have no friends and recently out of a 5 year relationship. The days drag and all blend into one another. I don't want to feel sorry for myself, I am sincerely trying but I'm at my wits end. I've been dieting, working out, trying to dress batter. Yes, for me but also just to seem more appealing to others. Not necessarily romantically but just so that someone would maybe be open to talking to me. I work from home in mental health for high risk individuals and listen to their pain for 8 hours 5 days a week. I struggle with substance use and sh on a daily basis. My family insults me on a daily basis. My mother has called my a parasite and a burden ever since I was little, so I tend to lock myself in my room while I work. The friends I used to have, have now become addicted to hard substances or have become unrecognizable from one reason or another. I am so overwhelmed, I wish I didn't have to face this alone. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I'm drowning

Venting No human deserves to feel like this

This deep pain in my chest, the fire in my eyes as I cry, every single day. I think about the fact that so many people who have hurt me somehow have the best life and are happy they have everything going for themselves while I'm here suffering and picking up all the pieces.

This feeling that I get, it's not regular sadness. It's not feeling like I'm so alone. It's actual deep pain and agony in my heart in my fucking body that I curl up into a ball and cry like I have nothing going for myself. I cry like somebody died. I have this problem where I keep everything inside and I don't open up to anyone except for people online who don't really know me, but the issue with that is that no one really asks me anything. No one really talks to me so these moments are rare.

To think that my ex (2025) used to abuse me and treat me all kinds of ways and now he has a child on the way, and some girl that he left me for engaged. I just wish I could evaporate off this earth. My ex before him 2020-2024 completely forgot about me completely does not want anything to do with me and honestly it feels like people just come into my life and use me and take everything away from me and then they decide that it's over they don't want me anymore. I feel like a piece of crumbled up paper thrown in the trash and forgotten about.

Things like this, I lay in bed at night and cry and cry Nobody is there for me It feels like there's something wrong with me. But the problem is I think I'm fine. I think I'm perfect. I think I have changed so much in the past year and I fix so many things that people have complained about that was wrong about me. What more can I give people what more can I change? I don't want to lose my sense of self because I know my worth and I think that I deserve something good because I'm not a bad person. But God keeps handing me these cards in life, and I don't know how to play.

These suicidal thoughts that I have late at night and during the day they never really go away. When I go out for a walk when I go and hang out with my only friend, I get reminded that the world keeps spinning and nobody really cares about you that everybody has something going for themselves or they have their own problems. I see love everywhere that I go. I see people holding hands. I see families, but all I could do is stare through a glass window, hoping and praying that a miracle would happen and somebody would actually love me. Somebody would actually love the whole idea of me the thought of me being their favorite person, someone that they can rely on and be their best friend.

But that would never come true I think I'll be alone foreve

I'm 21 years old boy, and I wish I had a best friend even if it's online to chat

I'm in the UK for tourism and I get to see many boys hanging around with their friends I see more goth boys and girls around too and I'm lonely and I don't have any friends irl.....I actually love goth people

And sometimes I cry but softly when I see everyone is smiling and happy with their friends.....

I try to make friends in the gym...I try to go to gym when I was 20 but only for 3 months I stopped

I got bullied for being bisexual by 3 muscular boys

I wish I had a friend who is protective and deeply caring and funny and with kindness
