Clear - the premium service that allows you to fast track through security and TSA pre check costs $219 per year. I just found out that it is now subject to a 10.1% sales tax making it $241 per year. This is the New sales tax that WA state democrats passed last year in Fall.

Spare me the pitch forks. I am a democrat voter.

A man slowly biking across the Ballard bridge today (maybe 15ish mph? I passed him going 20) caused traffic where, without him, there wouldn’t have been any. Due to his slow speed, all the cars behind him had to merge to go around which caused a backup in both lanes.

I realize it’s a temporary inconvenience and I hope this post doesn’t come off too rude, but I’m genuinely curious if this is allowed? It’s not the first time I’ve seen this and it seems dangerous, especially when you are not legally allowed to switch lanes on a bridge.

Yes biking on most bridges is legal, but sadly bicyclists don’t really have any good options… They either take the walkway and risk not being able to pass if there is another bicyclist going the opposite direction, or take the street across and risk getting hurt/killed. The lack of safe options for bicyclists is really upsetting.

So our local credit union seems to have something going on with it. My debit card just got stolen, which I was like sure, whatever probably a card skimmer and just cancelled it and replaced it. However, next has been my credit card which I do not use from BECU. They did go store to store and use it around the area, so it brings to question if BECU's systems have been compromised at this point?

It seems like maybe something is going on, but if this continues I will probably move away from BECU to another bank. I don't know how it was possible for them to somehow obtain my credit card information to use.

My spouse and I are contemplating a move to Bitter Lake and wondering how the noise from the Bitter Lake Reservoir project is going so far? If you live near the reservoir, have you noticed a lot of noise? Have you noticed anything regarding hours that they're working? Are they working weekends? I have a 2 person office to share, it is between Factoria mall and Eastgate and near I-90 in Bellevue, around 200 sqft. I am using it by myself now.

I would like to share it based on hours. You can have the whole office 3 hours per day for 350 dollars a month or 4 hours per day for 450 dollars a month. For example, you can have the whole office every morning from 9:00am-12:00am for 350 dollars a month. Available now. Pretty spacious and super clean, super quiet and well managed office building. The floor has a small kitchen with vending machine, microwave, refrig, hot water fountain, coffee machine and free coffee pods and tea bags.

The usual hourly rate for this office is 35 dollars per hour so this price is pretty good. If you feel you need committed hours to do something for a period of time or feel you need to be away from home for a couple of hours per day to focus on something, this is a perfect place. It is very close to I-90. Time period is negotiable. It is open 24/7 and if you take night hours you can get more hours for the price. Minimum 3 months and long term is preferred.

Now, today, an hour before the council meeting and vote, the counsel posted this:

They're basically glazing the amendment, adding a whole section of quotes from everyone who supports it, and omitting a single point from the people who oppose it - which, BTW, includes the teacher's unions.

Even the title, "advocates push to add weekend food aid to education levy plan" completely hides the fact that they're delaying the school lunch program by a year (at least - they'll probably come up with new delays after that). There's barely a mention of the delay in the article either.

There's also no mention of the fact that the schools who are supposed to administrate Hollingsworth's new voucher program have all said it's a terrible idea that burdens both the schools and the parents of food-insecure children, and can they please just feed all the kids lunch, instead of having to make up a whole new bullshit paperwork department.

But of course... actually providing the school lunches was something the council could do now, and kicking it down the road in favor of making up a brand new paperwork program means no one actually has to do anything now, so... yeah, they'll go for it.

They've already decided that they're going for it, and this news release is step 1 to justify their choice, while they pretend to discuss it in the meeting today.

...goddammit.
