My friend's RV disappeared from flowing lake on July 4th weekend when they couldn't get back to it the day they were supposed to move out?

So basically a "friend" of mine had a campsite at flowing lake, but ended up leaving the day before she was supposed to move her camper trailer, and got stranded somewhere so when she finally got back her trailer was gone.. supposedly it was too late in the day so the rangers weren't there for her to ask what they did with it?

My main concern is I borrowed a laptop from the library and that was in the RV.. It's really important I get it back. But she has not told me what happened, she just said shes trying to find it?

Did flowing lake have a tow truck come impound her RV? I assume they would, considering it's a busy weekend for them and she was not there to move it..

Snohomish County Community Health needs to be audited

CEO Joe Vessey earns more than $400,000 a year, according to ProPublica: https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/911255170. Meanwhile, patients face frequent same-day provider cancellations with months between each reschedule, and administrators have acknowledged that the call center is understaffed. Patients have also reportedly been laughed at when calling to complain, including by those in administration. This entire system needs to be audited.

Anyone in this area ride Unicycles?

I know this is really random, but recently I have gotten in to unicycling and was hoping to find some friends to unicycle with! I have only been unicycling for a few months, and I only have a 20 inch wheel so I can’t really go that far, but hopefully I will get better and maybe get an upgrade soon. The farthest I have gone is 4 miles. It was on the Centennial Trail from the library to the pillchuck trailhead and back.

I am 20 years old, MTF, just in case any of that stuff is important to anyone. If anyone wants to ride with me, just leave a comment or message me!

What is a high quality but reasonably priced auto detailing place?

I believe I have mold or something due to a mildew smell in my car. I don’t really care for detailing the outside but mainly just the seats and carpets. Does anyone know of places that would be able to detail my 2001 honda accord?

The DSA are primarily trying to hurt Democrats. Their entire platform is "please split the vote so a republican wins and we get to keep crying." They want the war in Gaza to continue so they can keep bringing up Palestine the same way MAGA always bring up "girls with penises"

Why Is Snohomish County Paying Consultants to Do a Job It Already Has People to Do?

At a time when Snohomish County is laying off its public health workforce, one question deserves an answer: Why is the Snohomish Health Department looking outside for "operational excellence" consulting when Snohomish County already has an Office of Operational Excellence?  At the Board of Health meeting yesterday, the Public Health Director informed that she will be seeking a consultant to “develop a department-wide continuous improvement framework” to enhance and strengthen operational excellence.

Also yesterday, Snohomish Health Department informed its staff that 17 positions were being eliminated with 6 of those currently occupied and 11 of those being unfilled vacancies.   Government leaders often talk about doing more with less. Laying off staff who provide essential public health services while spending public dollars on consultants sends the opposite message. It suggests that the priority is organizational theory rather than the people who actually deliver services.

No one disputes that government should continually improve its operations. Efficiency matters. Accountability matters. Innovation matters. But Snohomish County has already invested in building internal expertise through its Office of Operational Excellence. If the county believes operational improvement is needed within the Health Department, why isn't it leveraging the professionals taxpayers are already paying?

Taxpayers deserve transparency. How much will the contract cost? And why is there money available for consultants but not for retaining experienced public health employees?

The Snohomish County Council should insist on clear answers before approving another consulting agreement. Every dollar spent on outside advice is a dollar that cannot be spent protecting community health.  Operational excellence isn't achieved by hiring another consultant. It's achieved by investing in the people who do the work every day.

Did anyone else report sexual assault or domestic violence to the Lake Stevens police and feel like the detectives investigated you instead?

I've been wondering for a long time whether what happened to me was unique or whether other people ihave experienced something similar.

I reported a sexual assault to my local Lake Stevens police department. An arrest was made, but over the next two years I repeatedly asked the assigned detectives to investigate the case further. Around the same time, I began filing a complaint about how the sexual assault report was being mishandled. Instead of feeling heard, the investigation shifted onto me.

I'm an immigrant woman, a domestic violence survivor, and someone who was very vocal about asking for accountability. Based on public records, I found several additional cases that are strikingly similar to mine. Many of them also involve allegations of racial profiling, raising concerns that these may not be isolated incidents.I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced things like:

  • Reporting a sexual assault that was never fully investigated.
  • Reporting domestic violence but feeling like police sided with the abuser.
  • Feeling that your credibility became the focus instead of the crime you reported.
  • Filing an internal complaint and facing retaliation.
  • Feeling that your race, ethnicity, immigration background, or gender affected how you were treated.
  • Being afraid to call the police again after your experience.

I'm not asking anyone to identify officers unless you're comfortable doing so. For a long time I thought I was alone. Now I'm not so sure.

If this happened to you, what did you do afterward? Did you ever feel like you got accountability?

Dental Hygiene Student Looking for Patients!

Hello! My name is Anna and I am current student in the dental hygiene program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland. I am currently looking for patients to come in for dental cleanings and exams!

This is a great opportunity if you haven’t had a cleaning or haven’t been to the dentist in a while  and are looking for thorough, affordable care!

We accept most insurances, including state, and offer low fees if paying out of pocket.

Please note: This is a learning environment, and appointments are longer than your typical dental visit (usually a few hours and may require multiple visits). In every visit, everything done is carefully checked by licensed hygienists and dentists.

If you’re interested or have any questions, please feel free to comment or send me a message! I’d really love your help in supporting my education.

Thank you!!

Snohomish County PUD Online transfer Electricity service

I have a question about Snohomish County PUD. Has anyone transferred their service online through the app?

If I schedule my service to stop at my old address on 7/11, when does that take effect? Does it end at the start of 7/11 (12:00 a.m.) or at the end of 7/11 (11:59 p.m.)?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Yes, I am trying to get out there more on SM! (Not an easy task for me) I am running for our LD39, position 1 State Representative position. Why? Because we need to fight to protect our Democracy. We don’t have time to just allow Republican policies to stand in the way of progress. I am running to fight for Healthcare, Housing and affordability! No response to bills that offer real solutions by our current Representative is not acceptable!

I had a great time on July 4th! Marching in the Bothell Independence Day Parade with Snohomish County  Whole Washington volunteers in the early afternoon, and I also made it to our Arlington Independence Day Parade to march with Ida Keeley’s campaign and attend our Stilly Duck Dash!

I am running for State Rep. LD 39, position 1! Ida is running for  Position 2!  Please let me know what your concerns are that we need to address  in Olympia that affect all of us here in the 39th. Together Ida and I will be a very effective team in Olympia. Where she is very in tune to the needs of our more populated areas of the 39th, I will be there to represent our more rural aspects. Because with my Horses, Chickens and pets I know how important it is that our rural areas thrive.

Ida is a Social Worker and I am a Registered Nurse! Together, we understand the complexities of both our healthcare system and our social safety net programs. I believe we can be much more effective advocates for bringing real affordability home to the 39th than our current delegation.  Not only for our residents in the 39th, but to all our state citizens as a whole.  Please go to Idaforwa.com and Kathryn4LD39.net  and make a donation to our campaigns or sign up to volunteer. We can’t do this without all of you. I want to be accountable to you as a constituent and not to any Corporate or millionaire donors . Friday I will be up in Sedro Woolley. Come and join me for coffee or door belling afterwards! Find out more on my website!

Community Voices on KUOW

Hi there, my name is Alex Rochester. I work at KUOW, the Seattle NPR station ensuring we feature a diversity of political perspectives. I'm working on a new project called "Community Voices" that aims to expand the range of opinions that we hear on KUOW. We think it’s critical that we all understand what people in our communities are thinking and feeling about the big events and issues of the day.

To broaden the conversation, we're recruiting a diverse pool of people who represent a wide array of political perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. We are especially looking for people who live outside of Seattle.

As we cover the news in the coming months, we will turn to the pool of “Community Voices” to hear your thoughts and help us understand how the big issues of the day are affecting you. We will highlight those views in KUOW’s coverage.

If you're interested in participating, you can sign up on this page or directly through this form (this format is easier on phones). You can also DM me and/or comment on this post with your thoughts.

Built this because GreatSchools gives ratings but no real comparison. I wanted to see how my neighborhood school stacks up against others in the same district across scores, growth, attendance, discipline, and demographics.
