I am planning the stocking for my 60L tank, it will be heavily planted with stem plants, epiphytes and carpeting plants.
The tank is filtered with a rather large canister filter.
I am however unsure if the tank would be overstocked or just fine and would like to hear your opinion.

Current ideas:
- 15 galaxy rasboras
- 5-6 otocinclus
- 5 amano shrimp
- 10 neocaridina red fire shrimps (hoping for some offspring after adding them)
- 5 Cliton snails
- 5 ramshorn snails

Additionally I am debaiting to add 5 Dario Dario but I think this will be too much?

Also I am unsure about the otocinclus and the snails, will they find enough food as they both eat biofilm.

Again I would appreciate your optinion!

I started my first planted aquarium a few months ago, and unfortunately I have to move about 340 miles away. I have 9 Kubotai rasboras, 11 cardinal tetras, and 2 nerite snails. Does anyone with moving experience have tips? I’m extremely terrified of harming my fish along the way, but I also have no clue how to go about this.

I just added the zebra danios today and I didn’t realize how much more busy they would make the tank feel.

Stocking:

6 peppered Corydoras
6 zebra danios (2 regular, 2 long fin, 2 glow)
5 Von Rio flame tetras
4 mollies (3 female 1 male)
1 honey gourami

Filters are Fluval AC50, 50 gallon sponge filter, and 8 gallon Imagitarium HOB filter. Tank is cycled and parameters are stable

If the mollies give birth my plan is to sell them to my LFS

Trying to get my stem plants growing a bit better.

The plants are pretty small and compact still so I decided to check on the roots and the dang things are 12" long. These were extra 'mi oya' TC plants.

I'm using a standard 1020 size seed tray with a lid and sifted pumice (1/8") for the substrate, some osmocote was added at the beginning otherwise it's just been fed with tank water. The tray is in a tent with other plants and I think the bright light is the reason for the compact growth.

Just added these to my tank yesterday and I looked on YouTube and realized alot of people plant them individually. Did I make a mistake?

Finally got around to giving my 65 gallon a proper scape!

Currently this scape is an anubias jungle, but there are some newly planted baby crypts and some Val I have been saving for this build (still have far too much for the next scape. I’m hoping to fill in the rest with some stem plants over time.

Plants are probably the most expensive thing though, my success rate it pretty low. Although my Amazon sword is having babies.

Hello!! I had a planted tank since high school but i’ve never had one like this. I’m pretty proud how it turnout but I’m looking for some input or areas i can improve on to keep my tank looking amazing and healthy.

In my 20 gal planted tank i have:

Endler's Livebearers (5)
African dwarf frog (1)
5-8 blue velvet shrimp
mix of ram shell + bladder snails

My 200gal planted take took an unfortunate turn, nice crack about 1.5 Inch from the bottom of the side piece.
I don’t know what caused it, I’m guessing since the ac was running on this side of the tank would that cause this?
Should I take the tank down is this dangerous?

If I keep turning the big knob with the brand name it will just pop off!

Currently I have water sprite in left. I am trying to do a pearlweed carpet. And some cardinal plants in the back right. Should I cut some of the watersprite? I have no co2 and this is a 5.5 gal low tech shrimp tank.

3 days ago i noticed one of my tanks had guppies with significant white fuzzy lesions around their mouth and body. i started treating it with esha 2000, they seemed like they were improving, their lesions were getting better, but today i woke up and one of guppies was dead and 3 of them are really isolated, not eating and i noticed they had long and white poops. Again, the skin lesions improved significantly tho!!

Then i noticed my other tank had some bronze corys with the same white fuzzy lesions, but this time, only on their fins (this was 2 days ago). Again, i treated it with esha 2000 and they no longer have those same lesions, they seem normal for now.

Today i also woke up with one of my khuli loaches (same tank as the bronze Corys), extremely pale and also lethargic, i even thought she was dead.

I’m really not sure what’s going on, is this a gastrointestinal parasitosis and the white fuzzy lesions are just opportunistic bacteria?

I’ll leave some pictures below. My water parameter are perfectly fine, no ammonia, no nitrites and 10 mg/L nitrates. I also added esha exit to treat white spot disease, even tho i’m 100% this is not it, but i’m trying to have a broader treating spectrum.

I wanted this small patch to grow nice and thick but this is what it looks like. I added this about 1 to 2 months ago and it looked okay but then started to decline. I do struggle to keep aquatic plants alive but all my other plants are doing fine. I have

I don't use CO2 since I keep shrimp and the tank is relatively small. I dose fertilizer weekly too. I'm not sure whether the plant I got was emersed or submerged since they look the same.

I ordered some duckweed online and noticed there's these in the bag. I'm reluctant to bother opening it and trying a bleach/peroxide dip. Am I right or are these some form of Planaria/detritus worm?

They do appear to move towards the heat of my hand when I place it next to the bag.

Raised from a propagule. Home to a little bristle nose pleco.

My 10 gal planted shrimp tank had an explosion of hydra from my LFS pearl weed. I first noticed them 2 weeks ago spread across almost everything in the front of the tank. I check the tank every day and didn't see any before (they're green so I probably missed it when there were less). They are concentrated on parts of the spiderwood and the glass, and when the population gets really large they start growing on the plants. It doesn't seem like they really spread much beyond the front right of my tank, I sometimes see a couple on other plants.

I'm a student and just had to pay tuition, I desperately want to save my baby shrimp but can't afford to buy dog dewormer for the 7 week recommended period at $25 per week. I don't want to get fish that eat the hydra because then my babies would be toast. My other tank has big harlequin rasboras in it so I worry about moving the shrimp. I dosed with 68 mg praziquantel today and have enough for one more dose. I removed my carbon filter and just have a sponge filter now.

The hydra population briefly dipped by maybe 1/3 (having made no changes to the tank) but bounced back a couple days ago. I have 4 surviving shrimp babies and they're growing very fast but I'm still terrified.

pH: 7-7.2 (crushed coral in tank)

Temps: 75-76F, occasionally 78-80 for 4-5 hrs because we don't have AC

0 ppm ammonia and nitrates

Tank has been up for 4 months, shrimp added 1 month ago

Pest snail population has very significantly decreased in the last 1.5 months with me only occasionally removing a few, netherite snails have almost completely vanished (ramshorn pop decreased by maybe half?).

Fertilized once a week

20% water change and vacuum substrate 1x per week

There is still a little bit of biofilm on the spiderwood after maybe 1.5 months of having it.

No significant algae problem, sometimes hair algae if I leave the light on too much
