Is it worth it quarantining my plants? I really want to prevent this in the future, I know for certain it was the plant.

Jokes aside, running a pH of about 6.8 and only plants and pest snails in the tank rn, think the plants would benefit from a water change? I'm using a no filter setup and have tons of fast growers that just got set up, just want to see what the consensus is on water changes for plants only tanks

I'm too intimidated to try CO2 at the moment, but I really want a carpet to fill out my tank. I have a lot of floaters as well so preferably a lower light requirement. I have a betta and a bunch of ramshorn snails if that's of any importance

I've given up trying to get rid of it. It's everywhere, on all my plants, decor and even the glass. I just maintain weekly by removing as much of it as I can but I know it'll always be back and in new places. It makes my weekly tank clean up which should be fun a lot more frustrating. I'm thankful that at least it's not harmful to my shrimp and doesn't do much harm to my plants unless left unchecked. Still.. I hate it. I don't want to restart my tank because I have so many rare and expensive plants I don't want to throw away. I'm looking for tips on how to just embrace this stupid algae, any plants that are particularly good for outcompeting it? I have aquaponic pothos and spider plants which worked great for the other algae in my tank, but don't really do anything against the clado.

And also any tips for cleaning it without it breaking apart everywhere?

Buce was out of UNS cultures. But Iv gotten other erios before and you’ll get around 5 or so per cup. This whatever other brand blows.

The thing about singles, is sometimes one of em doesn’t make it. And w/the heat you also gotta 2 day or overnight.

There’s some peeps about that got from tanks going but that stuff doesnt always travel well and when your also risking rando algae etc that can only come from contamination you’d rather pure going when dealing with/more sensitive things you generally wouldn’t just chem treat so casually.

So just a what’s up w/their stuff being stingy w/the samples. Tissues can be multiplied etc if they got the gear going already.

I'd love to get thoughts about your first time upgrading tanks. 😊

We currently have a 6G for our betta and shrimps.

The shrimps aren't becoming snacks as Sushi is mostly chill (lucky us) and the tank is heavily planted. The shrimps have also started having shrimplets. 🙌

We are saving and planning to get him a 10G as it feels like 6G is small for him to swim around.

What should we be looking out for and anything we should consider trying for another low tech tank?

Can’t seem to figure out what it is.. talking about the red one of course

I have been trying to grow moss in my tank for a while. This Christmas moss has been there for roughly 3 weeks.
The tips are getting yellow I would like some advice, thanks !

Light is LED 5W 420 lumen (~30 lumen/liter) on for 6h a day.
Water parameters are ok, only pH is at 7.6

So... this is my first tank, it's day 11 since it's been planted and it's still cycling. Can someone help me identify this black/grayish growth on my driftwood? Every day it looks like it's appearing in new areas, is it blackbeard, detritus from a few of my plants having died or normal, beneficial fungal growth or something else?

It may not be as clean as many of yours but I love the messy natural look.

i got her like 3 months ago and she’s getting weaker and weaker everyday. you can even see where she used to be before on the last picture. i use the iron root tabs from jbl and ferropol also from jbl as liquid fertilizer. she used to be so full when i bought her 😭

This is my first plant tank five weeks old and some of the plants are yellow and translucent .Is it because of my sand cap being too deep or do I need some liquid fertilizers?

Plants are probably the most expensive thing though, my success rate it pretty low. Although my Amazon sword is having babies.

I have octopus grass, pointy swords, hygrophila salicifolia, and hornwart paired with river rocks from and driftwood. I'm very pleased with the results and can't wait to add fish!

Can't someone please advise what I'm doing wrong here. This tank is about 3 month old. I just added 2 snails a week ago. The plants keep dying off. Like the stem becomes soft and then just float and disentegrate. And the dark Ness. Some I can rub off but some I can't. The soil is fluval stratum. Any one can give their 2 cent. I just did another water change 70% a day ago.

By the way, the “black” dots on the leaf are actually dark green in person I’m pretty sure it’s just algae and harmless. I’m referring to the black patches at the base and possibly on the rhizome
