Advice Dwarf Breeding Behavior?

Hi! I noticed some odd behavior from one of my rasboras today, where it seems to be chasing another around. It also suddenly had a slightly darker coloration. I didn't know if it was stress related (just added a couple shrimp and did some gravel cleanup), so I dimmed the lights. I do have 4 fry in my tank so I know they're breeding, but I'm not sure if this is related. Are they fighting? My other rasboras seem normal. Any info is appreciated!

10 gallon / 1 chill betta / 2 Amano shrimp / 7 adult rasboras

Parameters:

Ammonia 0/Nitrates 5 ppm/Nitrites 0

Kept between 78-80F

Lots of live plants

Sponge filter

Gravel cleaned every 2-3 days, small water change every week

Least Rasbora So happy with my urops colors

I've had them for about 6 months, and while they did color in fairly quickly initially I feel like they have only recently reached their full potential. They are out and about and waaay more active than my neons or my pygmy cories. Really loving the little territories they've set up for themselves. They are inquisitive, eat well (baby brine shrimp, red mosquito larvae, small danio feed) and an all around joy to watch.

I have around 20 of them in a 100L tank. Can't count them, tank is too heavily planted. Temp hovers at around 25 to 26 degrees celsius atm, but they did really well during the recent heat wave where temps went up to 28 C sometimes. I tried my best to stay on top of it. I lost fish in other tanks, but not in this one.

EDIT: Added more information

I bought chili rasbora, looking more like dwarf/exclamation point. They just got put in the tank about an hour ago so they are still pale and adjusting, but they just donโ€™t look like chilis but idk since theyโ€™re tiny and so young.

Advice Kubotai raspboras slowly dying....

I got a school of 8 last week. This week i noticed one was pale and swimming in one spot. I thought he might be tired so i turned the flow down a bit to see if he would recover but the next day he was barely swimming and gasping at the surface. And then another one started doing the same thing. Its been a few days and now a third is starting to have trouble swimming. I have no idea what is going on. I have 11 ember teras that are fine but it seems like these guys are slowly dying one at a time.

- Water Parameters are fine

- I returned the flow to where it was before because everyone had seemed fine then...

*edit*: rasboras... i shouldn't post from my phone.

Borrowed some knowledge from the Caridina folks and set up a 5 gallon tank with a ugf box filter and a qanvee sponge filter that takes up half the tank, and loaded the other half with moss, Malaysian driftwood and magnolia and IAL and peat moss. Wait for ph to descend to 5.8 or so and introduced a group of 10 chilies and loaded them with daphnia, cut black worms, brine shrimp, bug bites and vinegar eels 2-3 times a day till their silver bellies showed. 2 weeks later bam, small boi arrived with many more scattering around when the lights are out. Dose a pinch of spirulina and bacter AE powder (any brand) to ensure infusoria boom so that thereโ€™s always a buffet at the lower levels of the tank.

Sorry, I know these images aren't great, but they won't approach the glass if I'm close with my phone, so I can't use my macro lens.

They were sold as chili rasboras, but I know they aren't chilis. My best guess is strawberry or dwarf? Anyone with more expertise want to weigh in?

Strawberry Rasbora Shy Strawberry Rasbora

Note to community: Not all rasbora in the tank appear in the picture

Hi, i recently restocked my strawberry rasbora.
I screwed up while starting up and only one of my rasbora survived (my 4 amano shrimp also survived) and i spend a long time fixing parameters so i could restock. And so i recently did and they have been doing so well! I did notice one is a bit more shy. Im not deeply concerned as its behavior tells me its not sick and isolating itself. It eats and it swims normal, it joins the school at times but many times it stays under secure shadows such as a leaf from my anubias. In the beginning specifically all the way in the back bottom corner of the tank but it doesnt go there that often anymore. It just seems to be a bit of an odd one out and im wondering if this will still improve overtime! Please do keep in mind im not really planning on increasing the school as i have a quite planted tank, theres 4 amano shrimp and its only a 20L/5Gal

Chili Rasbora Long time no see, hereโ€™s an update!

Due to big life changes, havenโ€™t been able to focus on my tanks, let alone posting. A while ago I moved my chilis, pygmys, bushynose, and the apisto into an upgrade. They got a 29 gallon now instead of a 20 gallon long. And Iโ€™ve replaced the plants with low maintenance plants. Just a ton of buce. And an Amazon sword. This tank is dirted with a big sand layer. Some spots are over 6 inches deep. I had the tank sitting with the substrate, water, filter for like 6+ months easily. Probably much longer, Iโ€™ve lost track of time. Couldnโ€™t decided what I wanted to do. One day I finally had enough and threw the wood in, threw plants in, and gathered the critters! Iโ€™ve added a couple of red crystal shrimp as well, Iโ€™ve had them for a couple of years in a different tank. Decided to throw them in to minimize tanks. Itโ€™s hilarious how much bigger they are than the fish. Iโ€™ve had them in here for over a month now and have been obsessed again. I hope you guys enjoy as much as I do.

I finally was able to increase my Rasbora shoal. But in the video; there is clearly a large size difference; but the black spot is wider across all sizes. Did I get some young Harlequin rasboras or did I get espei?

Just sharing the progress on my rescaped 29 gallon. I upgraded it from a 20 gallon long in February. The chilis love to hang out on the top under the Frogbit roots and whatever other floating things I've added until they sink.

Chili Rasbora Where Did Everyone Get Their Chilis?

I'm looking for about 20 chilis to add to my small school of strawberry rasboras. However, I haven't had much luck being able to find them. So I was hoping people in the community might be able to help name some places. Thanks!

Micro Rasbora Bolivian rams with my nano fish

I am currently working on a new 3ft (160L fish tank). It is currently cycling for the next month and is already hard scaped with driftwood, dragon stone and heaps of plants (2 swords, 7 java ferns, a bunch of anubias, crypts and some type of hydrophilia I had in another tank). The fish it will house definitely are:

2 dwarf honey gourami (males)
13 Pygmy corys
12 maculata rasbora
6 Celestial pearl danios
Amano/cherry shrimp
Mix of snails.

I will be increasing the schools of Pygmy cories to 18, maculata rasboras to 24, cpds to 18.

I want to add a pair of Bolivian rams though am having so much conflicting information from chat gpt and google that they will attack the other fish species as they are small. What do you guys think and any advice?

Ps. Update: wondering is a trio MFF apistogramma borelli would be a better option?

So I got the last 4 galaxy rasboras at my local fish store today for my ten gallon (Iโ€™ll probably get two more when they restock) and I was wondering if anyone could ID these guys for me? I have a ten gallon but I donโ€™t want to have a bunch of babies.

This is my 6.6 gallon tank. It's about 3 months old. The people at my LFS said 6 of these least rasboras would do good in my tank but wanted to see what anyone else might say. I will update in the future how things go but so far they seem normal besides the occasional glass surfing. I introduced them 3 days ago.

Water parameters are 10dGH 5dKH 7PH 0 ammonia nitrate and nitrites

Also does anyone know if they have a possibility of reproducing successfully in a home aqaurium?

Strawberry Rasbora Rasbora trouble, what can I do?

Post image
15 Upvotes

New to fish keeping, I fully cycled my planted tank for weeks before adding 12 strawberry rasboras. I recently lost one and chalked it up to stress after my water parameters came back normal. Then the following day I lost another one and tested my water again to see if it could have been ammonia spike. It had .25 ammonia so I did a small water change 10/20% to help. Today I got home and another passed, everyone looks good in the morning and then in the evening I find one at the bottom. I try to feed them a small amount to not overwhelm my tank. There heater stays around 75F. I do have a cat that likes to watch him, I have a feeling he might be the cause. He tried to put his paws in even with a lid covering most of the space.
How can I start narrowing down whatโ€™s going on with my tank? Picture of tank for reference!
