Image Joseph deserves more love…

Raising Jesus as a father figure should still be commended. Although Mary is his biological mother, Joseph still played the role of the father and upbringing of our saviour.

People focus on Mary so much and don’t get me wrong the mother of God deserves all praise she did so much and is so caring and loving but I can’t help but think that Joseph deserves an element of praise as well, playing the role of Jesus’ father on earth.

Image I could've done significantly better at this. I forgot I drew this in very late 2023... I need to try it again with more detail and do better flowers and sin. But how do you rate it? Honest answers only.

Advice Saying “Jesus loves you” to nonbelievers does more harm than good

It’s best to not say it at all to them

To them it means nothing and it makes you look like a religious lunatic in their eyes

I’m just saying it doesn’t have the effect you think it does, instead of making someone feel what you feel towards god it just annoys them and lowers the likelihood of them even considering Christianity

Politics The disastrous result of ending social programs and aid in exchange for charity

I've seen countless times on subs like this that social programs are immoral, because they use people's tax money against their will to help those in need. It's a recurring theme from many conservative Christians whining about Medicaid, Food Stamps, USAID, etc. They say aid should be voluntary and done through the Church.

Yet with the conservative policies in the US under Trump and Republicans, we're witnessing what a catastrophic disaster all those cuts to aid have been.

Sex work or starve: Aid workers in Nepal left jobless by USAID cuts turn to sex work to survive

But after the United States slashed its foreign aid funding last year, Lama and more than 280,000 aid workers worldwide found themselves out of a job.

https://healthpolicy-watch.news/the-human-cost-one-year-after-the-us-took-a-chainsaw-to-global-health/

One year ago today (20 January), the Trump administration exploded the global health sector by immediately “pausing” all aid for 90 days – and dispensing with 83% of US Agency for International Development (USAID) projects six weeks later.

To date, 757,314 people – the majority children – have died from the funding cuts, according to ImpactCounter, which tracks the effect of USAID cuts via sophisticated modelling tools. That is 88 deaths every hour.

Modelling the effect of the 90-day pause on HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, ImpactCounter estimates that 159,000 adults may have died in that region alone as a result of the suspension of aid by USAID and PEPFAR.

There are also almost a million more malaria cases, over 700,000 affecting children, due to aid cuts.

Where are the pro-life Christians? Where is all that charity pouring in from Churches to offset that loss of billions of dollars in aid money to the neediest people in the world?

The United States is one of the richest countries that has ever existed. Republicans just passed a bill in the House for $1.15 trillion dollars for the defense budget - the highest in US history.

So the US, which people here keep telling us is a "Christian nation" can afford to spend over a trillion dollars to blow up school children in Iran, but we can't afford to help starving children around the world?

Do conservative Christians realize this is worse than Sodom and Gomorrah? God punished them for not helping the poor and needy, and their sins were far far less than what most conservative in the US are doing today.

So when are we going to see Churches open their coffers and help the millions in need to offset cutting AID money around the world?

I found this at my home

Hello, I found this here. Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm Catholic, but since I live in Russia, Orthodoxy is much more popular here, I found this thing. It's obviously very old and quite heavy. I can't even guess what metal it's made of. I also don't rule out that it's something from the "Old Believers" since my mother was baptized by her grandmother, who was an Old Believer. Although I haven't noticed any distinguishing features that could indicate this. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Why Exactly are Catholic Clergy Celebrating a Mass at a Transhumanist event Backed By Peter Thiel?

Can anyone explain to me how respected Catholic priests like Fr. Luke Dysinger and Fr. Harrison Ayre are allowed to do this? Or why this kind of thing is being allowed to be incubated at a Catholic University? Is Christianity somehow compatible with Thiel's strange Transhumanist ideology? I'm interested in hearing people's thoughts on this.

Can we please stop saying that we're excited for the Second Coming?

Yes, I know that the excitement comes from Jesus returning to earth, but it clearly says that He "will come to earth not with peace, but a sword". Though I'm still reading the New Testament, I've read in Revelations about what the end times will be like. And I'm still nervous that when that time does come, I may not be chosen. I don't want to be left behind during that time. And I don't know if it's just me, but the sight of everybody screaming in terror while all of these disasters are taking place fuels me with fear and stress. And I find it selfish how some people are excited for that. And a few posts ago, I told you that I don't want to be seen as a person who deserves to be seperated from God.

What is your “God is real” moment?

I’ll start. I always wandered and was curious about different religions/ spirituality/ dimensions, etc. So I believed in God in a way but not profoundly.

Anyway I was in an abusive relationship with my daughter’s father and I would stay time after time.( I know stupid) The last time he ever put his hands on me, he strangled me over and over for half an hour and then drug me by my hair to the bathroom, stripped my clothes, made me close the bathtub drain and turn the water on (he was going to drown me & make it look like I committed suicide, that’s why he made me touch everything & would strangled me if I didn’t listen) anyway at this point I knew I was done for, I thought my life was over. I start panicking and pleading to him to let me say goodbye to our daughter as he’s waiting for the tub to fill up but his mind is set and he doesn’t care what I have to say.. and as it starts to fill up all the way I start crying and loudly prayed “Our Father”. Immediately he throws me to the side and says “BITCH you don’t even believe in God” and then he walks out. This man would never stop abusing me when he started so the fact that he immediately stopped blew me away and I knew God was the only one who could’ve intervened.

2 Year Investigation Results In Atheist to Christian - Lee Strobel

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Former award-winning Chicago Tribune investigative journalist Lee Strobel shifted from staunch atheism to Christianity in 1981 after a two-year historical and scientific investigation. His wife's conversion prompted him to disprove the religion, but the overwhelming historical evidence for the resurrection ultimately led him to surrender his life to Christ.

Strobel's journey began when he was a self-described skeptic living a self-destructive lifestyle. When his wife, Leslie, embraced Christianity, he found the transformation in her character so profound that he set out to dismantle the historical validity of Jesus Christ to bring her back to secularism. Using his legal and journalistic skills, he examined medical journals, the reliability of New Testament documents, and first-century historical texts.

And we are still debating if Jesus existed?

Matthew 7:7-8
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

News So Massachusetts my finally banned children marriage

It made me super uncomfortable that anyone can made off their children to adults . This does make me wonder what happens to any of the kids who did get married before 2022. I know many go divorce is a sin but if your are a child wouldn't tbis be invalid given we seen the harm child marriage has done ? The Bible does make it clear adults should be married not child and adult. I looked it up and for the most poor Judaism wanted groom and bride to be closer in age and often got suspicious of older men marrying a younger woman. Not saying it didn't happen but they wanted closer in age

Jesus Christ took care of all your sins, that's what the cross was for.

"I'm a dirty rotten sinner, how could God ever love me? I sin too much; am I really saved? Have I actually believed? What if I'm not doing enough? What if there's still a chance I can go to hell?" - Collective of persons on reddit

▪︎▪︎ Well, Jesus Christ didn't believe in any of that. He said He is the resurrection and the life. Whosoever liveth and believes in Him shall never die.

John 11:25-27

》25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

》26 👉 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 👈

》27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world

2 Corinthians 5:18-21

》18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

》19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

》20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

》21 👉 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 👈

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

▪︎▪︎ What does it mean to believe? To believe means to be persauded of God's promise to mankind in Jesus Christ. Abraham believed God and He counted it to him for righteousness (Genesis 15:5-6).

Romans 4:20-25

》20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

》21 👉 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 👈

》22 👉 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. 👈

》23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

》24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, 👉 if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 👈

》25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

▪︎▪︎ If you believe He died on the cross for your sins and He rose again you are justified by His grace through faith my friend it's that easy.

Ephesians 2:8-9

》8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

》9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 8:9-10

》8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

》9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

》10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Galatians 2:19-21

》19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

》20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: 👉 and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 👈

》21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. 👈

I need help guys I’m stuck 😔

Upvotes

Right this is basically a mini testimony but grew up mum was raised Catholic and dad was heavily against religion.

I obviously didn’t know much that age but when I left home I found my faith in Jesus. And was so apologetic that I went like 20 years without acknowledging him fully I felt awful. The fact he still loved me through all those years brought me to tears.

Now the thing is I believe in God, the resurrection, the Bible as a text of word but don’t know and I’m being honest, NOTHING about denominations in the sense that I don’t think one is wrong and one is right (and this is because I can’t judge something if I don’t know the reason behind it).

Admittedly I believe Mary played a significant role but God is above all if this helps at all.

It feels wrong to be left ‘alone’ like a line wolf who just follows Christ alone. I want to be with people. A collective is always better. Not being baptised sucks as well but can change that… 😢

question about swearing something with your hand on a bible.

hello team, I am writing this post because in 2023, I was forced to put my hand on a bible and swear that I would never play the video game league of legends ever again. as I do not wish to spend an eternity in hell I have not played the game since and I would say my life has improved since then. I do not wish to go back to playing the game as like I said my life had improved since quitting.

I am however wondering about the validity of the act, and would I actually be condemned to an eternal suffering in the pits of hell for playing a video game. it was a children's bible because that's all we could find.

thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I believe God is calling me to start something called Peacemakers

I want to share something that has been on my heart for a while.

I believe God is calling me to start something called Peacemakers.

The world feels louder than ever. There is so much division, anger, fear, and loneliness. I believe we need people who choose a different path — people who choose to bring peace into the places they are planted.

The inspiration comes from the Psalms and the life of David.

David wasn’t someone who had an easy life. He faced rejection, betrayal, battles, fear, and uncertainty. But through every season, he kept coming back to God. He learned how to find peace in the middle of chaos.

That is what I believe a Peacemaker represents.

Not someone who ignores problems. Not someone who never faces conflict.

A Peacemaker is someone who brings hope where there is hopelessness, kindness where there is division, and peace where there is chaos.

My hope is to create a movement where people from all walks of life can come together, be encouraged, share their stories, pray for one another, and experience moments that remind us we are not alone.

I am working toward starting weekly Wednesday night live sessions where we can have real conversations about faith, life, struggles, victories, and the challenges we all face.

We will talk about what it means to be a Peacemaker in today’s world — not just through words, but through action. We will discuss practical steps we can take in our families, communities, workplaces, and relationships to bring more peace, compassion, and hope into the chaos around us.

I am also looking for musicians, artists, and bands who feel called to use their gifts to help create these moments of encouragement and hope.

This is just the beginning. I don’t have every detail figured out, but I believe God is opening a door and I’m taking the first step.

I’m asking for prayers as I begin this journey.

Pray that God guides every decision, brings the right people alongside this vision, and that Peacemakers becomes a place where people can find hope, peace, and encouragement.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9
