I stumbled upon Robert Bresson's Diary of a Country Priest, and was star-stuck to how it transforms silence, suffering, and ordinary life into a profound vision of Christian grace. This video edifies the Christian is why this overlooked masterpiece may be the greatest Christian film ever made, and perhaps the most resonating. It permits the transcendent to be found in the trivial, God's beauty to seep through the banal, and faith to be unveiled through the flesh of the Lord's creation. I'd definitely recommend this video, and check out the movie as well. This is a film not commanded by popes, or great prophets — it’s a film that affirms that radical Christianity can exist in the soul of the ordinary believer. It reminds us that Christ was once a lowly shepherd from Galilee, Noah was a drunkard, Moses a murderer, David a sexual deviant, and us as the sinners — all saved by Jesus’ radical grace.

Thomas More, perhaps the greatest of all Christian humanists. imagined a society without private property, organized around shared labor and the common good—but was Utopia genuinely socialist, or something far stranger? This video explores the radical politics behind Christianity’s greatest humanist and asks whether modern labels can really contain his vision.

We blame it on each other and that might be a half truth, but it's the games they play and what they feed you that keeps your mind in a state of no use.

I read in an article about the 1968 DNC protests in Chicago, that this group served as medics and also 200 pastors were involved in a sit-in in response to police violence. But I can't find a lot of books or records about them.

They seem to have disbanded in 1972. That's the same year that Jesus People USA was founded, so I'm especially interested in any links between those groups (like, did some people in the first group live communally, and then end up living with JPUSA? Or was the first group just an association of pastors?)

Surely someone has written about all this already, with all of the seminaries in Chicago.

I don't like war. Not a fan. Not for me. Controversial opinion, maybe.

That being said, though, I have to wonder: is war ever just?

I'm not a strict pacifist, to be honest. When I consider the Union in the American Civil War, the Allies in World War II, the Sioux in the Black Hills War, the National Liberation Front in the Algerian War, or, for that matter, most wars of national liberation, I must say that (without defending or justifying every action) it does seem to me that war can sometimes be pretty justified. As John Knox (allegedly) said, "Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God."

What do others think?

I believe the God frequency is the reciprocation of love, and that's what we are created for is to... love and to reciprocate.. that Divine love..

How bad is the sin of killing yourself? Will you go to hell if you do? What should Christians who cannot deal with the pain of their mind anymore do?

I've been a Christian for my whole life, but for the past few months I've been feeling distant from God. I think I might have religious OCD or something. I keep questioning God, or wondering if I even want Him, and it's been really confusing.

I feel like I've had good parents and a good family, but I have such a hard time feeling like God loves me, or feeling like I'm loved, or that I can be loved by a Father.

Recently I heard a poem about the motherly love of God, and it really touched me as a female. From my understanding, God doesn't have a gender, so why have we only called Him in the masculine form? Why not call God "Mother" or "she," especially since there are multiple times in the Bible where God is described with motherly imagery? At the same time, Jesus told us to call God Father, so I feel conflicted.

How do you actually feel loved, comforted, and assured by God? To me, loving comfort feels natural with a mother, but when I think of God as Father, I just feel anxiety. I feel afraid I'm going to mess up. I feel like I'm not loved, and I'm worried I'm going to get condemned to hell.
