So, that's it, everyone! I got my first Quran! I'm really happy, and I feel like I'm a little bit closer to God now that I have it in my home (obviously, not because of the physical object, but because of His words). It's all in Arabic and I don't understand a thing, but I'm sure God will enlighten me and I'll learn to read it. 😊🙌❤

Qaalu • they said

This verse doesn't start with "and (wa)" because it's the continuation of dialogue in one timeline. Quran uses the word "and" deliberately when it starts a new timeline or stage. For example from previous verses first mention of Adam was before creation and then after creation and Quran used the word "and" between them. This verse doesn't mention "and" because it's inside the dialogue continuing from previous verse. That's the precision of Quran that it mentions conjunctions in such detail. (The science dealing with joining and separating the sentences is miraculous rhetorical device in the Quran which comes under category of wasl and fasl.)

Subhanaka • Glory be to you

The angels before acknowledging their mistake praised Allah that he's pure from all imperfections which is one of the meanings of S-B-H. This is intense form of adab and reverence before God.

Inakka anta • indeed you you are

The pronoun anta(you) creates a restriction that only (Allah) is all-knowing and wise. This restriction was also used in surah fatiha that "only you we worship", and it's rhetorical device in the Quran.

Alim Al Hakim • All knowing and wise

The last quote "innaka antta alim Al Hakim" is from the miraculous feature of Quran called fawasil. End of verses are used with small quote or word that connects it to the rhythm of previous verses, and it connects the verse with emotion or praise of God, giving a sign of completion. In surah Baqarah, such long quotes are used but in shorter surahs, words are used as fawasil.

What are rhetorical devices in Quran ?

Rhetorical devices are category of literary features or miraculous features of Quran, which are used all over the Quran and make Quran more eloquent and far higher than arab poetries. This is one of the challenges in Quran to produce something like it.

Me, a muslim, had been called a racist, a zionist, a liar by people they don't even know me, and what saddens me the most by muslim themselves.

I'm not muslim and I don't want to debate about religion, but I just want to make sure I understand the muslim perspective well. Is it that Abraham according to you was literally muslim or just that he was a jew worshipping the one true God that he called Yahweh which is actually Allah and that Islam is now the only valid form of religion because judaism has been corrupted?

Do muslim believe that islam and judaism was once the same religion or would that be heretical?

I’m a woman originally from a Muslim country, living in France.

My parents forbid me from dating (which, up to that point, is fairly normal in my family).

Everyone in my family got married through someone introducing them to their future spouse - arranged marriages, if you can call them that.

My question is this: is it normal that my family has never introduced me to a man for marriage?

Considering that I’m reasonably attractive, intelligent, and kind.

I genuinely don’t understand how I’m supposed to get married, start a family, and so on if I don’t even know any eligible men.

Especially since most of the women in my family got married when they were younger than I am now.

​I am a South Asian living in Europe who recently found my way back to Islam, started praying 5 times a day, and am trying to learn my Deen. However, my family dynamic is making this very hard. Ten years ago, my eldest sister married an apparently Muslim man who turned out to be an ex-Muslim atheist. She stayed with him happily, but over time she became deeply anti-Muslim herself—making fun of Muslims for wanting halal food, wearing a khimar or abaya, believing Muslims don't belong in Europe, and not even caring about Gaza at all. Because she has a lot of influence in our close-knit family, my other sister followed in her footsteps: she lived with an ex-Christian atheist before marriage and recently had an invalid "Nikah" with him. When I told her a Nikah is only valid if the man is Muslim, she said to my face that religion doesn't matter to her.

The rest of my family are cultural Muslims who are completely fine with all of this and accept it. Because everyone influences each other in our family, it's a very challenging environment. On top of this, I am the youngest, deal with a chronic illness, and depend heavily on my family for help. My sisters actually help me a lot with my situation, and I genuinely want to maintain a good relationship with them and keep family ties (Silat al-Rahim), but I am terrified of falling into sin, validating their invalid actions, or compromising my own faith. How do I deal with my elder sisters and protect my Iman without causing friction or being sinful while living in this dynamic? Any advice or Islamic guidance would mean a lot. JazakAllah Khair.

Dear all i am in dire need of all your prayers im gonna sit for a very competitive medical exam soon and i need all your sincere duas i dont know if asking for prayers is shirk or not but jazakallah khair.

In a lot places I see a lot of hate towards Tablighi Jamat saying that it is inefficient and it is just a Time to just leave your families and relax with your friends in the name of Allah Which rather is a problem of character Or I'm not sure what kind of Jamats to you guys went on.

The truth is when you are out in Tabligh, that this is not a direct source to bring people to Islam but instead is an opportunity to discipline yourself and strengthen your Iman by learning under people who have spent their lives learning about Islam. I am a student btw and I have been going to Tabligh for years and enjoyed every second of it. The way I did it for years is that I we spent hours reading books and listening to speeches and spending time going door to door inviting people to these talks which then could people towards tabligh. The reason we bring people towards Jamat is to give them the opportunity to learn about Islam and an extensive manner and basically be trained in order to educate someone about Islam and bring people towards it.

In short you're basically not going out to teach people about Islam but you are going out to learn how to teach people about Islam properly because you can't really explain someone about it if you don't really know anything about it. Also the thing about it being just a chance to chill with you freinds is that it is a chance to stregnthen brotherhood and be among good people trying to increase their deen. Also the reason people go for a long time is simply to increase your Iman and being around scholars and teachers helps. Also some people dont trust the Fazail e Amal which make no sense becuase is its easily verifyable with the Hadith but we use many other books. Let me know anything and I will try to debunk it.

I am writing because I am starting to feel desperate regarding the mercy of Allah.
Long story short, my sister is very suicidal. After 2 s** attempts last year, she spent the year being better and improving before starting a new nightmare this summer and committing 3 attempts in only 48 h. My parents directly took her to the hospital again, and two weeks later, some hours after she quit the hospital and said she was better, she attempted again. I know one shouldn't make duaa blindly, so we're doing everything but nothing is working: no doctor seems to know how to help her, no medicine, etc. All of this is costing a lot of money, and worse than this, I am seeing my family's mental health getting destroyed as well. My mum also just underwent surgery for cancerous cells; my brother is suffering from bullying, weight, eating disorders and obesity; and my father has his own companies that have been eating his health since I was very young and is a big smoker and can't stop smoking. I am also not in a good situation financially even though my father paid for very expensive studies. Nothing seems to work out, everything is getting worse, and every time I put my trust in Allah, everything seems to be getting worse. I pray, I make duaa, I cry, and I speak to Him honestly but it's becoming harder to have hope, and I can see my body also starting to endure the consequences of all this stress. Wallah I can't live like this anymore. I feel guilty for wanting to be happy, to have a family, to travel, to have money. Why would Allah, AL-Latif, The most Merciful, The Waduud, The Chafi, not help us and put us in a better situation. My mum is such a strong believer and the sweetest and nicest soul, and they do not deserve this. It is a weight I can't and don't want to bear anymore.

I need your miracle stories if anybody could relate in any way, and of course your duas. May Allah grant you everything you wish for. I hope this is not too long, but I don't have anything that makes me feel good or gives me hope about how unfair and bitter life is, and I loose even more hope when I see all the horrors happening in the world. I am looking forward to reading you.

Assalamu alaikum everyone,
I’m really struggling and could use your duas and advice from an Islamic perspective.
A few weeks ago, my father, my sister, and I were involved in a serious car accident. Alhamdulillah, my sister and I walked away with only bruises, but my father suffered a devastating spinal injury.
He underwent a 7-hour spinal surgery, and ever since then our lives have completely changed. He is currently paralyzed from around his stomach/chest area down to his legs and is still in the hospital. He hasn’t even started rehabilitation yet.
To make things even harder, we recently sought another medical opinion, and that doctor believes the screws in his spine may not have been positioned well enough and that he might need another procedure. I’m terrified. After the first surgery, his oxygen levels were affected, and I’m so scared of him having to go through another operation.
I keep replaying the accident in my mind and remembering how life was before all of this. Sometimes I look at my father and can’t process how everything changed in a single moment. I know that Allah is Al-Qadeer and that nothing is impossible for Him, but emotionally I’m finding it so difficult to cope.
I’m trying my best to have tawakkul, make dua, pray, and remind myself that whatever Allah decrees has wisdom, even if I can’t understand it. Some days I feel strong, and other days I feel like I’m falling apart.
For anyone who has gone through a severe test, a traumatic accident, or cared for a loved one with a spinal cord injury, how did you cope while still trusting Allah? What helped you strengthen your sabr without feeling like you were suppressing your emotions?
Please keep my father in your duas. May Allah grant him complete shifa if it is best for him, ease his pain, guide us to the best medical decisions, and grant our family patience and steadfastness. Ameen.

🌷*Duaas to fight anxiety and depression*🌷

We all go through difficult times one time or another. 

Here are some duaas proven from the authentic sources that we can read at such times. 

1️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:

There is no-one who is afflicted by distress and grief, and says:

‎اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ، وَابْنُ عَبْدِكَ ، وَابْنُ أَمَتِكَ ، نَاصِيَتِي بِيَدِكَ ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤُكَ ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ ، أَوْ عَلَّمْتَهُ أَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ ، أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ ، أَوْ اسْتَأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ ، أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي ، وَنُورَ صَدْرِي ، وَجِلاءَ حُزْنِي ، وَذَهَابَ هَمِّي

 ‘Allaahumma inni ‘abduka ibn ‘abdika ibn amatika naasyati bi yadika, maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka. 

As’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw ‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika awista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘indaka an taj’al al-Qur’aana al-adheema rabee’a qalbi wa noora sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhihaaba hammi 

“O Allaah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your maidservant; my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the Unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety),’ 

but Allaah will take away his distress and grief, and replace it with joy.” 

He was asked: “O Messenger of Allaah, should we learn this?” He said: “Of course; everyone who hears it should learn it.” ( Ahmad- saheeh by al-Albaani) 

2️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:

“There is no Muslim who is afflicted with a calamity and says that which Allaah has enjoined, 

‎إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا

Innaa lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon. Allaahumma ajurni fi museebati wa akhlif li khayran minha 

“Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allaah, reward me for my calamity and compensated me with something better than it,

but Allaah will compensate him with something better than it.”(Muslim)

3️⃣ Ibn ‘Abbaas said that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ used to say at times of distress:

‎لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

“Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah al-‘Azeem al-Haleem, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb al-‘Arsh al-‘azeem, la ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb ul-samawaati wa Rabb ul-ard wa Rabb ul-‘Arsh il-kareem 

“There is no god but Allaah, the All-Powerful, the Forbearing; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of the mighty Throne; there is no god but Allaah, Lord of heaven, Lord of earth, and Lord of the noble Throne.” 

(al-Bukhaari, Muslim)

4️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said: 

“Shall I not tell you of something that, if any worldly calamity or disaster befalls any man among you and he says these words, he will be relieved of it. (It is) the du’aa’ of Dhu’l-Noon: 

‎لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

“Laa ilaaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kuntu min al-zaalimeen

“None has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allaah), Glorified (and Exalted) be You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers).”

And in another narration he said:

“No Muslim man says this duaa’ concerning anything but Allaah will answer his prayer.” (at-Tirmidhi -Saheeh by al-Albaani)

5️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ  said: 

“The du’aa’ of the person who is in distress is: 

‎اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلا تَكِلْنِي   إِلَى نَفْسِي    طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ

‘Allaahumma rahmataka arjoo fa laa takilni ilaa nafsi tarfat ‘ayn wa aslih li sha’ni kullahu laa ilaaha illa anta 

“O Allaah, for Your mercy I hope, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blink of an eye; rectify all my affairs. There is no god except You” 

(Abu Dawood -hasan by al-Albaani)

6️⃣ If some matter was troubling him, the Prophet ﷺ  would say:

‎يا حيُ يا قَيوم بِرَحمَتِكَ أسْتَغِيث

Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom bi rahmatika astagheeth 

“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek Your help” 

(at-Tirmidhi - hasan by al-Albaani)

7️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ  said to Asma’ bint ‘Umays:

“Shall I not teach you some words which you can say at times of distress and hardship? 

‎اللَّهُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي لا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا

‘Allaahu Allaahu rabbee laa ushriku bihi shay’an 

“Allaah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him).’”(Abu Dawood- saheeh by al-Albaani)

8️⃣ The Prophet ﷺ said:

‎اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ سَهْلًا إِذَا شِئْتَ

“O Allaah, nothing is easy but that which You make easy and You can make hardship easy if You will.” 

(Ibn Hibbaan - saheeh by al-Albaani)

And Allaah knows best.

Assalamu alaikom,

I am a male, suffering from a rare disease called post-finasteride syndrome. It happened when I started a drug called finasteride october last year to combat hair loss. I was told that the side effects were very rare and mild, and if they occured they would go away. They didn’t and they persist to this day, 8 months post quitting (in varying severity, some days are easier than the others.). There are symptoms like anhedonia, s*xual dysfunction, depression, panic attacks and suicidal ideation. This situation has consumed my entire life and it is really difficult to see a path forward with such constant suffering.

I’m wondering how much Allah will punish me for not being able to practice my religion to the fullest. I pray, but because of the anhedonia I can barely feel the beautiful feeling praying once gave me. I make dua but to be honest I am really tired and nihilistic at this point. I really feel bad about myself because I always wanted to be the ideal man, who took his religion and life seriously and now I feel like a complete wreck.

My only lightpoint is the fact that there is a doctor out there experimentally treating patients who, according to him and many researchers has figured out the whole mechanism of why the disease occurs and potential treatment areas. People have anecdotally reported feeling a lot better after the treatment.

I am enrolled at his doctors office (its in the US and im from the Netherlands so I see the doctor via telehealth). Truth to be told, I am really scared of the future and of the treatment and really struggle. This has financially burdened me a lot (Im a uni student fresh on my first job, ive only been working for 8 months).

What advice would you guys give me? I am really lost for words on this situation and have trouble staying positive. I would appreciate if you made dua for me, and another brother I have met who is in a similar situation.
