Quran & Hadith I got my first Quran
So, that's it, everyone! I got my first Quran! I'm really happy, and I feel like I'm a little bit closer to God now that I have it in my home (obviously, not because of the physical object, but because of His words). It's all in Arabic and I don't understand a thing, but I'm sure God will enlighten me and I'll learn to read it. 😊🙌❤

Quran & Hadith Linguistic Features Of Baqarah (Quran 2:32)
They replied, “Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. You are truly the All-Knowing, All-Wise.”
Qaalu • they said
This verse doesn't start with "and (wa)" because it's the continuation of dialogue in one timeline. Quran uses the word "and" deliberately when it starts a new timeline or stage. For example from previous verses first mention of Adam was before creation and then after creation and Quran used the word "and" between them. This verse doesn't mention "and" because it's inside the dialogue continuing from previous verse. That's the precision of Quran that it mentions conjunctions in such detail. (The science dealing with joining and separating the sentences is miraculous rhetorical device in the Quran which comes under category of wasl and fasl.)
Subhanaka • Glory be to you
The angels before acknowledging their mistake praised Allah that he's pure from all imperfections which is one of the meanings of S-B-H. This is intense form of adab and reverence before God.
Inakka anta • indeed you you are
The pronoun anta(you) creates a restriction that only (Allah) is all-knowing and wise. This restriction was also used in surah fatiha that "only you we worship", and it's rhetorical device in the Quran.
Alim Al Hakim • All knowing and wise
The last quote "innaka antta alim Al Hakim" is from the miraculous feature of Quran called fawasil. End of verses are used with small quote or word that connects it to the rhythm of previous verses, and it connects the verse with emotion or praise of God, giving a sign of completion. In surah Baqarah, such long quotes are used but in shorter surahs, words are used as fawasil.
What are rhetorical devices in Quran ?
Rhetorical devices are category of literary features or miraculous features of Quran, which are used all over the Quran and make Quran more eloquent and far higher than arab poetries. This is one of the challenges in Quran to produce something like it.

News Argentina
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
Beforehand i present myself, im an argentinian convert to islam since 13 years ago.
the main intention behind this post is to remind us.
to remind about the dangers of our lisaan
Riyad as-Salihin 1514
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "A person utters a word thoughtlessly (i.e., without thinking about its being good or not) and, as a result of this, he will fall down into the fire of Hell deeper than the distance between the east and the west."
these weeks I've been seeing such display of lowerness between nations but specially against my own people.
Me, a muslim, had been called a racist, a zionist, a liar by people they don't even know me, and what saddens me the most by muslim themselves.
we must remind brothers and sisters, that when we speak about one nation we're speaking about every single one of them and we'll be held accountable in the day of qyamah.
as a Muslim from Argentina i want to remind us to keep closer to islam, and dont let the fitnah of shaytaan misguide us.
and remember, just as me, there are hundred of thousands of argentinians who accepted islam and millions who might embrace it, In sha Allah.
don't let a sport match burden the dakwah efforts all around the world, today is Argentina in the future it might be another nation.
we're muslims, we must lead by the example, we must live by the sunnah.
Riyad as-Salihin 1511
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day must either speak good or remain silent."

General Discussion Reminder about a subject that is too ignored
To my Muslim brothers,
I write this reminder as someone who is educating himself about climate change.
The Muslims in countries that have wealthier lifestyles have a responsibility of adapting their lifestyles, even with small changes, because among the most affected by climate change are brothers and sisters who often live much poorer lifestyles.
We are not perfect ; but we should reduce our emissions because it is beneficial.
It’s not about living in tents, even changes like reducing meat consumption (I’m no vegan but in the West many people do eat too much meat, during the time of the salaf it was much more precious), reducing electricity consumption, unnecessary AI usage or unnecessary plane usage, or food wasting when done in masses, do have an impact
It’s not about punishing the poor as they already struggle, but those who do have lavishness in their lifestyle should indeed question it
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Politics Behold, look at how a U.S. politician try to meddle with another country's policy of not recognising the genocidal Israel
This explosive reaction of a U.S. politician to come and defend Israel (??) after Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that "Malaysia will not compromise and will deport any Israeli nationals found entering the country, as it has a clear policy of not recognising Israel".

Question about Islam Do muslim believes that Abraham was muslim in the litteral sense
I'm not muslim and I don't want to debate about religion, but I just want to make sure I understand the muslim perspective well. Is it that Abraham according to you was literally muslim or just that he was a jew worshipping the one true God that he called Yahweh which is actually Allah and that Islam is now the only valid form of religion because judaism has been corrupted?
Do muslim believe that islam and judaism was once the same religion or would that be heretical?
Relationship Advice My family never presented me anyone.
Hello !
I’m a woman originally from a Muslim country, living in France.
My parents forbid me from dating (which, up to that point, is fairly normal in my family).
Everyone in my family got married through someone introducing them to their future spouse - arranged marriages, if you can call them that.
My question is this: is it normal that my family has never introduced me to a man for marriage?
Considering that I’m reasonably attractive, intelligent, and kind.
I genuinely don’t understand how I’m supposed to get married, start a family, and so on if I don’t even know any eligible men.
Especially since most of the women in my family got married when they were younger than I am now.
Thank you for reading me.

General Discussion Practicing Islam in a Non-Practicing Family: How to Handle Anti-Muslim Relatives and Protect My Deen?
Assalamu Alaikum everyone,
I am a South Asian living in Europe who recently found my way back to Islam, started praying 5 times a day, and am trying to learn my Deen. However, my family dynamic is making this very hard. Ten years ago, my eldest sister married an apparently Muslim man who turned out to be an ex-Muslim atheist. She stayed with him happily, but over time she became deeply anti-Muslim herself—making fun of Muslims for wanting halal food, wearing a khimar or abaya, believing Muslims don't belong in Europe, and not even caring about Gaza at all. Because she has a lot of influence in our close-knit family, my other sister followed in her footsteps: she lived with an ex-Christian atheist before marriage and recently had an invalid "Nikah" with him. When I told her a Nikah is only valid if the man is Muslim, she said to my face that religion doesn't matter to her.
The rest of my family are cultural Muslims who are completely fine with all of this and accept it. Because everyone influences each other in our family, it's a very challenging environment. On top of this, I am the youngest, deal with a chronic illness, and depend heavily on my family for help. My sisters actually help me a lot with my situation, and I genuinely want to maintain a good relationship with them and keep family ties (Silat al-Rahim), but I am terrified of falling into sin, validating their invalid actions, or compromising my own faith. How do I deal with my elder sisters and protect my Iman without causing friction or being sinful while living in this dynamic? Any advice or Islamic guidance would mean a lot. JazakAllah Khair.

Seeking Support important I really just need advice
Title: I want to return to Allah
Assalamu alaikum. Please don’t shame me. I never thought I would share something this personal on Reddit, but I desperately need advice and don’t have anyone I feel safe speaking to.I feel like I have been a horrible daughter. I don’t pray, and I haven’t taken Islam seriously for a long time. Growing up, I practiced mainly because I was afraid of my parents. I would wear hijab in front of them but sometimes remove it behind their backs. and as I got older, I became even further away from Islam. Now my father is sick. He has diabetes, high blood pressure, and problems with his lungs( leakage). I love him, and I desperately want him to recover. I also blame myself because I worry that the stress I caused him contributed to his health problems. He repeatedly tells me that he forgives me, but I cannot seem to forgive myself. Something inside my soul is telling me to return to Allah. However, another part of me keeps saying, “You are only doing this because your father is sick.” It feels strange to suddenly turn to Allah now when I wasn’t praying or taking the religion seriously before. I’m scared that my intentions are selfish and that I’m only returning because I want Allah to heal my father. have searched online and read people saying that Allah is forgiving and that I should simply return to Him. I believe that Allah is forgiving, but I still don’t understand what I’m actually supposed to do. I keep researching, but none of it feels like it is sinking in. I feel overwhelmed, guilty, and completely lost.I don’t have anyone I can safely cry or rant to about this. The religious people I know are connected to my family and community, and I’m afraid of being judged, exposed, or used as an example in front of other people. That fear is why I have never approached anyone I personally know. Please don’t judge me for this either, but I am currently on my period, so I cannot even begin by praying salah right now. I genuinely don’t know what I’m allowed to do or what my first step should be. Can I still sincerely return to Allah if my father’s illness is what brought me back? What can I do while I’m on my period? How do I make tawbah when I feel overwhelmed and don’t even know where to start? How can I ask Allah to heal my father without feeling like I’m only turning to religion because I’m scared? Please be honest. I genuinely want to return to Allah.

Seeking Support rant: i feel like i ruined everything!
sorry if this doesn't seem very Islamically related, its just that this thing thats bothering me I am always thinking about how I wish Allah swt would just "fix" it for me, even though it is all my fault. Honestly I don't even know how it could be really fixed.
My biggest thing that held me back in my life is my insecurities, they kept me from being confident and feeling like a real person honestly. I was never insecure about myself at all until I was a teen, and that's kind of when I stopped being the hard working and healthy kid I used to be, since my insecurity and depression and anxiety seriously deteriorated my life and my mindset towards life.
In my late teens I got over a lot of the insecurity because I think over time I just started to accept it and felt a lot of comfort knowing that Allah swt makes everyone perfectly. So even if I didn't like my face, Allah swt did because thats what he made me.
But then unfortunately I learned that everything I was insecure about was my own fault. Everything I hated about my face was actually not genetic, it was because of my recessed jaws. I started looking back on photos from my childhood and realized that as soon as I took on bad habits and made bad decisions for my jaw development, THAT was when I became ugly, not just because of the natural development for things. For example, when I was 11 I started mouthbreathing while eating and drinking, I noticed someone doing this and thought it looked comfortable (sounds very weird I know but I can pinpoint the exact way I started shifting my breathing habits) and the photos from before and after are stark. I had bad posture, stayed up for all nighters probably almost every day from age 14-20, ate total junk, and didnt exercise because I was a really bad kid and teen who never listened to my parents. When I felt insecure i BEGGED my parents for braces and was honestly very rude and entitled about it, considering how expensive it is and how I only got them for vain reasons. I had no idea that this + tooth extractions actually make things worse.
I had no idea that this would all result in a severe jaw recession, and a GENUINE problem. Being ugly isnt a problem, but being recessed definitely is and can require surgery.
I'm so sad about this because it wasn't all in my head.. I genuinely became insecure because I GOT UGLY! and it was all my fault. Allah swt gave me a totally normal face and I alone ruined it because I was such a bad person and unhealthy and was ungrateful. I don't find comfort in knowing that Allah makes everyone the way they are meant to be because I had that and I messed it all up. surah an nisa also says "Whatever good befalls you is from Allah and whatever evil befalls you is from yourself" ... and I have caused so much bad to myself through my own bad - ness.
How I wish Allah swt could just fix everything for me, but I have ruined it all. And now I have a REAL reason to be insecure. what can I even do. I really do not at all want to get surgery and I'm stuck with this face that reflects how terrible of a person I am and I am just soooo sad I was ever ungrateful. Islamically, how do you deal with a thing that happens to you that is your fault? Is making dua for a fix without doing anything (I'm scared of surgery so much) considered not "tying your camel"?

Seeking Support Seeking urgent prayers & advice on enduring distress and praying for Allah's intervention
Without going into much details as it'd take a super long post which I'm sure a lot of fellow brother & sister won't simply have the time to ready as my situation is a very complicated and complex one, I'd just ask for all to pray for a brother who's befallen a great distress.
I have been engaged in prayers, in constant Dhikr (Istigfar, Salawat), Sadaqa whenever I can but so far Allah's intervention in resolving the matter has only been silence. I understand how important Sabr is, I understand how all this might be a trial for myself, my Iman & a lot of it might be outcome of deeds or mistakes that I have made, but I have always in my whole life been subservient to the almighty Allah only, never hurt anyone's emotions let alone utter a bad word to hurt them, but right now I am in a situation where I am seriously pondering if being a good person or good soul is worth it at all when despite all my call for help, Allah's signs or miracles have been only silence so far.
Perhaps this is Shaitan's whispers to break my spirit & soul, but it could also me having to live 4 years miles away from my loved ones all alone, enduring everything in life by myself with no possible help or means to aid me other than the Almighty Allah Himself. He has protected & saved me before countless times Subhanallah through extraordinary means but this time everything's been the hardest, the most difficult and for the longest time I have been praying for Allah's miracle regarding in the resolution of my situation.
Please, brothers and sisters, pray for a fellow soul that Allah intervenes and helps me from the darkness and this great anxiety that hovers upon my head like a dark cloud and I would also appreciate any and all advice on how to keep my heart calm, my mind steady and not fall into a worse situation than I already am cause I truly am on a downwards spiral. Only a miracle or just 1 acceptance of my prayer from Allah will save me.
ZazakAllah Khair and Fiamanillah all.
May Allah protect you all from such tests in life.

General Discussion Truth about Tablighi Jamat that a lot of you get wrong
In a lot places I see a lot of hate towards Tablighi Jamat saying that it is inefficient and it is just a Time to just leave your families and relax with your friends in the name of Allah Which rather is a problem of character Or I'm not sure what kind of Jamats to you guys went on.
The truth is when you are out in Tabligh, that this is not a direct source to bring people to Islam but instead is an opportunity to discipline yourself and strengthen your Iman by learning under people who have spent their lives learning about Islam. I am a student btw and I have been going to Tabligh for years and enjoyed every second of it. The way I did it for years is that I we spent hours reading books and listening to speeches and spending time going door to door inviting people to these talks which then could people towards tabligh. The reason we bring people towards Jamat is to give them the opportunity to learn about Islam and an extensive manner and basically be trained in order to educate someone about Islam and bring people towards it.
In short you're basically not going out to teach people about Islam but you are going out to learn how to teach people about Islam properly because you can't really explain someone about it if you don't really know anything about it. Also the thing about it being just a chance to chill with you freinds is that it is a chance to stregnthen brotherhood and be among good people trying to increase their deen. Also the reason people go for a long time is simply to increase your Iman and being around scholars and teachers helps. Also some people dont trust the Fazail e Amal which make no sense becuase is its easily verifyable with the Hadith but we use many other books. Let me know anything and I will try to debunk it.

Seeking Support Traumatized by car accident
Assalamu alaikum everyone,
I’m really struggling and could use your duas and advice from an Islamic perspective.
A few weeks ago, my father, my sister, and I were involved in a serious car accident. Alhamdulillah, my sister and I walked away with only bruises, but my father suffered a devastating spinal injury.
He underwent a 7-hour spinal surgery, and ever since then our lives have completely changed. He is currently paralyzed from around his stomach/chest area down to his legs and is still in the hospital. He hasn’t even started rehabilitation yet.
To make things even harder, we recently sought another medical opinion, and that doctor believes the screws in his spine may not have been positioned well enough and that he might need another procedure. I’m terrified. After the first surgery, his oxygen levels were affected, and I’m so scared of him having to go through another operation.
I keep replaying the accident in my mind and remembering how life was before all of this. Sometimes I look at my father and can’t process how everything changed in a single moment. I know that Allah is Al-Qadeer and that nothing is impossible for Him, but emotionally I’m finding it so difficult to cope.
I’m trying my best to have tawakkul, make dua, pray, and remind myself that whatever Allah decrees has wisdom, even if I can’t understand it. Some days I feel strong, and other days I feel like I’m falling apart.
For anyone who has gone through a severe test, a traumatic accident, or cared for a loved one with a spinal cord injury, how did you cope while still trusting Allah? What helped you strengthen your sabr without feeling like you were suppressing your emotions?
Please keep my father in your duas. May Allah grant him complete shifa if it is best for him, ease his pain, guide us to the best medical decisions, and grant our family patience and steadfastness. Ameen.
Jazakum Allahu khayran.
