The announcement of the OOT remake has motivated me to draw the scenes again! Third slide was my first OOT piece when they met. I wanted to parallel the scene with the farewell scene 💕

Playing wind waker just now and started thinking of which games in the series are the best representation for each of these categories. Interested to hear others thoughts

Story - Skyward Sword

Atmosphere - Majoras Mask

Gameplay - Tears of the Kingdom

Music - Ocarina of Time

Dungeons - Twilight Princess

Companion - Midna (Twilight Princess)

Gimmick - Minish Link (Minish Cap)

I made a 35th anniversary tribute some years ago, and it was pretty liked, so I'm back here with a new and bigger one, pouring all the love I have for the franchise!

I’ve been replaying the wilds games and keep thinking how I might enjoy a MMORPG based in this world.

Gamers could choose from multiple beginnings, (similar to the original Dragon Age) as a Hyrulean, Goron, Zora, Rito, Gerudo, or even Korok. Origins would begin in the area specific to the race the player chooses, with a beginning story that leads to a central location like The Great Deku Tree or Hyrule Castle, where you are summoned as a representative of your tribe to investigate some new threat or mystery.

Gamers could build their own homes via Hudson Construction, and use the same resources from BOTW and TOTK for character customization.

Zelda and Link might make random appearances—and there could be routes for players to become members of the Sheikah or Yiga Clan.

The Legend of Hyrule?

Fanwanking to be sure—but I thought it might be fun to share the idea here.

So having played every Zelda game up to TP, but nothing since (old I know!), I am currently in the minefield of the corporate job market, and once I get out, I have decided that my reward/treat will be a Switch 2, originally to play BoTW (which I have managed to keep completely spoiler free for myself), but now with the announcement of the OOT remake, I am even more hyped!

Anyway my question is as follows, and it concerns OOT as a stand alone: As a 10 year old kid who was terrified and whose hands were shaking when I finally defeated Ganon, I had always assumed that Ganondorf was the "true" form, and that Ganon, was simply his desperate attempt to refuse to concede defeat, where he tapped into the Triforce of Power and was willing to pay any price, even if it meant giving up his "humanity" (I am aware he is not entirely human) and becoming a mindless beast, to stay alive and to defeat Link and Zelda.

It was only until recently, after reading through the wiki, I noticed it says:

However, the exhausted Evil King still lives, and uses the full essence of the Triforce of Power to transform into a bestial monstrosity called Ganon - his actual form.

Which left me somewhat doubting my 10 year old self, however I personally maintain that I was right, evidence in the game suggests that Ganondorf was born a Gerudo, which combined with the fact that he reverts back to his humanoid form when he is sealed, to me suggests that Ganondorf is the actual, original form, and Ganon is the demon/entity within.

Either way I am hugely excited to be able to play OOT again, and would be curious to hear what this sub thinks on this topic, I have mixed feedback so far.

I'm an undergrad student in acoustics and Zelda music has been with ne for a long long time. Although Music Theory and Arranging isn't the main focus of my studies, I love to transcribe and arrange VGMs.

When you click on the link you'll find my latest work from my Phantom Hourglass Wind Quartet Project. I do not have much experience when it comes to playability on other wind instruments besides the flute. So I want to ask you if I could get some feedback for improvements.

Good ole’ pen and paper drawing I’m working on for a friend. It’s not perfect and still needs some tweaks and my signature on there but I wanted to hear some thoughts 💭

So the main changes of note:

Mido goes with Link to help kill Gomah

Zelda does the "Royal pretends to be a commoner" thing

Young Link has a personality

Ganon actually interacts with Link and Zelda in her garden

Epona heard Link playing the Ocarina and goes along to Goron City and Dadongo's Cavern

Ruto was to be married off until Link received the Zora Sapphire

We see the attack on the castle and a Stalfos destroys the Deku Shield by knocking it into the fire

Link kills this Stalfos after Link gets back to the world

Link first meets Sheik during the Death Mountain section, not right out the gate

Who also "being a double agent" for Ganon

Link knew Volvagia as a child after buying it from the market in Castle Town and was forced to kill it, being pushed by Sheik.

And finally, it shows how inexperienced Link is by not carrying food and water on his trip until he comes across Kakariko Village, where Impa is still guarding the town and helps link train

After link notices Epona almost being sent off as a gift for Ganondorf but a young kid named Alf was fighting back. Only when Link plays the Ocarina does Epona calm down.

And when hes trained, Dark Link attacks from the Well.

IIRC, lots of the Manga are not Canon or seen as a retelling, at least until Twilight Princess but this might be outdated info.

It does make me wonder what from the Mangas will be in the remake.

So I just got engaged, and my fiancé and I are both big Zelda fans. We're now starting on our wedding planning, and we've discussed having the Tarrey Town wedding theme play during the ceremony. However, neither of us really want the Bolson Construction grunts/sighs that happen throughout the song (one of the big ones is at 1:07 in that video, but there are other smaller ones throughout). Does anyone know if a version of the music exists without those?
