I did some very basic shading for this piece, might be something I might so more of in future 2D art stuff.

I don't really have a story for these folks, but I was thinking of a somewhat grim, hehe, darker Paper Mario game, almost like an entire game based on some Hell-scape like the Underwhere.

Mario has lived countless lives, and this grim reaper aociety of shyguys is tired of it, sending one of their lackeys to follow Mario around.

Once he finds a bottomless pit to fall in, that'd when Grim Guy is supposed to take Mario's soul. However, as most creatures do, he took a shine yo Mario and started following him around.

As for Pyrra, I dont know what her role would be, but she's a very spunky, fiery spirit, and instead of glowing typical red or orange, its more bright colors, a bright yellow, orange, pink that rotates around her body.

Today, it's day where Paper Mario TTYD appeared 22 July after I was born, and it's always my only favorite game, Goombella is my only favorite, and I'm always playing this game, since my console Nintendo has fixed, my brother plays this game too, and you guys, can you tell me when you start play it ?

I don't wanna replay the whole game to get to this moment and all of the save files I found are 100%

I don't want it to deviate too much from the original, something with more content and a small difficulty increase would be perfect

I'm going in mostly blind but I do know the game is in 4:3 (obviously) (so widescreen hack probably), has some infamous backtracking (not sure how bad it is so not sure if I should go out of my way to do anything about it), and had some censorship in localization (so I definitely want to get rid of that).

Does that about cover it for a "vanilla but slightly nicer/more convenient" experience?

I love both games to death, and from the top of my head here are some things each game does better than the other:

64 - Better difficulty, better level design

TTYD - Better story, better partners, more complex battle system

I personally prefer 64, but TTYD is still a fantastic game

I personally like the concept of using them to open secret rooms in each level, but it can get tedious as they are only available in one shop. I don't think anyone has ever used them for escaping battle.

I would get rid of the difficulty spikes.

I was lucky enough to be in the UK when it released, so I got the pre-order bonus of the battle stage to build.
And I had attended the launch event in NY, which was the same day I had flown out too funny enough.
Genuinely couldn’t miss it, I grew up on the GameCube and namely with TTYD, Super Mario Sunshine, and Luigi’s Mansion as childhood favorites.
When TTYD got announced for a remaster, I went legit crazy lol

Is that the right word for it? A weird mix of sadness, Nostalgia, and something else...Goombario comments on how hes seen all our adventures and wants to be just like us, but at this point we are basically JUST A YOUNGUN!!! goombario cant comprehend what present day Mario had been through!!

I'm serious. That's what im doing. It won't even be that long. So much thought and effort was out into these characters that is often skipped over by even hard core Mario gamers...why is that? Even people who like a good story and like characters will not bother to read all of this flavor text...me included.

So now im going and reading every last piece of dialogue in the first two games myself. I grew up with ttyd but not the original, so tbh this is very interesting!!!
