After completing the closed course portion of your driving exam, you'll be instructed to drive on a pre-determined public road route. If you're taking your Maryland driving license examination at the Westminster MVA location in Carroll County, this is dashcam footage of the route which you will more than likely take, along with some instructions and tips. This route hasn't changed in over a decade, hence is still accurate as of 2026. Knowing this route ahead of your exam will help you feel more confident on exam day.
If you are a new driver in Maryland or a parent/guardian helping your teen prepare for the Maryland driving skills test, this video will be extremely helpful. Practicing this Westminster route ahead of time is one of the best ways to reduce test-day nerves and increase your chances of passing the driving test on the first try.
MVA Westminster location address: 1106 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster, MD 21157

Hello, everyone! This sub has been inactive and unmoderated for a couple of years, and I had the opportunity to become a moderator here.
I've made a few initial updates so far, but this is still very much a work in progress. If you have any ideas for the sub, feel free to comment on this post. Flair ideas? Rule ideas? Have community resources to add to the sidebar? Anything!
This is a subreddit to discuss Westminster, Carroll County, and to a lesser degree, the whole state of Maryland. Debate is allowed no matter your side, just keep it civil.
Complain about local stuff, ask for recommendations, share local news, discuss things, and more!

Looking around maryland for a place to move. Like the affordable (comparatively) housing, school ratings seem decent, close to some good fishing.
Were a pretty chill family. Like gaming and hiking, not into division politics. Value education. Not super religious.
Westminister a good place for us? Are schools good (low fighting and bullying)?

Looking for outdoor things to do with the kids now that it's getting dark early but isn't too cold yet... Any basketball courts with lights on them?

Thank you so much!

Update: he's dead. Died 3 days after the incident: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/joseph-delvecchio-obituary?id=53010970
According to the Carroll County Times:
Joseph W. Delvecchio, owner of Memory Lane Antique Market on East Baltimore Street in Taneytown, has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm, firearm possession with a felony conviction, using a firearm in the commission of a violent crime, second-degree assault and first-degree assault in the incident...
On Aug. 27, at approximately 6:46 p.m., Maryland State Police were contacted by the Taneytown Police Department and were told that a first-degree assault occurred at the Memory Lane Antique Market. State troopers were told there was a person inside the antique market with a gun. When troopers arrived they contacted the antique vendors inside, who told police that Delvecchio had pulled a handgun on a store clerk during a dispute about money...
Witnesses told police that Delvecchio entered through the front door yelling that he had a gun and then pulled out a silver pistol and yelled that he could “blow this place away,” according to charging documents. Another witness told police that he saw Delvecchio take out a gun from his waist and say, “I need my money.”

This man, Delvecchio, was just the worst when I went to his store 2 years ago. Accused myself and my teenage son of stealing from his store because we commented on how is prices were outrageous for some used records. We put our intended purchases back and then he literally chased us out of the store threatening us in the parking lot.
Read the Google reviews for Memory Lane Antiques. There are some real crazy post on there.

I miss having conversations with other adults, outside of my work environment. I was hoping to just sit down somewhere, in Westminster, and have some real human interaction. Maybe this weekend. Public setting. First round on me. DM me. (fingers crossed)

Has anyone ever attended or had kids that attended North Carroll Community School? Do you think it was good preparation for high school? What was your overall experience? Thanks!

Driving to and at the farmers market this morning the only people that I saw that were not wearing masks were two city police officers. One officer had a mask but wasn't wearing it even though he was around people. The other officer was on Main Street talking to people and I saw no mask.
I wear my mask to protect others from my droplets.
Honestly wondering, are the police not required to wear a mask to protect others?
