My older brother bought this from a retail store in like 2016-2018 for like 20€ and the worker said that it could go upto like 50€.

So is this actually that rare? And how much is it worth now then?

I think it’s long overdue for a new Splinter Cell series. Everyone is making remasters and remakes these days, so why not call back Sam Fisher out of retirement?!

Plus, besides the 2D recent entries, I’d really love for Ubisoft to make another 3rd person Prince of Persia game. The freedom they could have with an open world Prince of Persia would be insane! I love PoP 2008 and its open world aesthetic!

Just as downloading a free PDF of any book whose author has died, whose rights have expired, and from which no one has any way of making money is acceptable, so is piracy in this particular context.

If something digital is not available for sale, then you can obviously pirate it. The fact that it is not available for sale means that the company is done with the product and understands that they won't see any profit from it.

Pirating the PS3, which at this point is a 20 year old retro console with no digital way to buy new games, is akin to video game preservation—which is an art rather than piracy—providing a way for future generations to play old games to see what they were like.

Now if we're talking about PS4 and PS5, piracy on THAT would be stealing as those consoles are still current.

Bought FF13-2 and Lightning Returns since I never got to play them back in the day. Decided to buy brand new because why not. They came in sealed but the cases are different than every other PS3 game I've ever bought. I'm thinking they're resealed. Not a big deal because I do plan on opening and playing but I do hate paying for a brand new sealed copy and it having been a reseal. Thoughts? Sharing photos of a few of my other PS3 games to compare cases.

I have all those PS3 games and a PlayStation 3 Slim. The console isn’t reading any discs but other than that it’s in perfect condition. I just want to know if these would be worth selling to get my dad a better console (PS4). I just want to know if that would be better than buying a replacement disc reader. I’m really wondering.

Just a little nostalgia post. I have a CECHA frankenstein downstairs that I acquired a few months back from a seller named luvbuckets, works awesome

However, the PS3 in the above photo is actually my CECHL model that I personally unboxed in 2008 when I was 7 years old. The PS3 literally made my childhood special. I remember starting off with World at War, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, and Blazing Angels back then. And yes, my Dad let me play these violent games. Going from playing Medal of Honor on PS2 to COD World at War was a huge jump to my young eyes lmao

I have so many memories of playing MW2 with my Dad, BO1 and BO2 with my friends, and overall using the PS3 as a full on media player.

Until 2011, I literally had my PS3 hooked up to a CRT with RCA cables. We used it as a dvd player, blu ray, netflix, hulu, and cd player. The PS3 was literally everything to me.

When I see the PS3, I think back to simpler times, wanting to go home from school and hop onto COD. Playing spec ops with my Dad, and so many other memories.

My Dad is 58 now, and I myself am 25. We both wholeheartedly agree that the PS3 was THE BEST console Sony ever made.

I recently had this one delidded and had new tokins installed as well by pc_savants, so I look forward to many more years with it alongside the frankie.

Anyways, if you don’t care, no problem. But, I’m sure my fella PS3 gamers will understand where I am coming from.

I recently bought this ps3 and it's screen keeps flickering and blacks out in btw, how do I fix this issue, I really want to play on ps3!

I also tried connecting it to my Samsung tv (it was having issue then too, It blacked out after press the ps button to let it flow audio and visuals screen)

I then attached it to my monitor and it worked out but the game screens are flickering what do i do please help

Love it when apps got closed years ago, but they are still there, they still try to download an update just to show a black screen.. :D

So the PS3 store is going to close down very soon. No PS3 hardware is being produced. Existing hardware, such as original Sony-authored controllers, is becoming rarer. Also, the hardware is suffering failures. No new games are coming out.

I did a termal paste but my ps3 turns into a jet engine after a while. It did helped a lot bcs it lasts about 35 mins and then it screams. But only in open spaces in half life 2.

Is there any way to purchase or make a transparent disc drive on the PS3 Super Slim? So you can slide down the transparent cover and watch the disc spin. I've never seen this done with a Blu Ray Drive before, so i'm not sure if its possible.

I think my absolute dream console would be something like the PS3 Super Slim made out of wood + glass (or transparent acrylic and veneer) with an automatically sliding disc drive cover.
