When I was younger, I got my PS4 and it came with Uncharted 4. Obviously, I fell in love with the game!

Fast forward to now, I’ve finally got around to playing the first 3 games since I never had AND TELL ME WHY NOBODY TOLD ME THERE WERE ZOMBIE LIKE CREATURES IN DRAKE’S FORTUNE?!?!?

Just finished the Nathan Drake Collection and was wondering which of the three people prefer. Like most people I found the 1st to be significantly inferior to the other two (did enjoy it tho), but between 2 and 3 I found the 3rd more compelling. Imo the action sequences, cutscenes, story & characters were a lot better and the combat was more enjoyable what with the environmental takedowns and stuff (admittedly, I don't exactly know how I activated those, I just moved near the object amd hoped Nate would pick it up. I wish it was a bit more like Sleeping Dogs). I'd say the sets and level design are both on par for the most part. It did seem a lot more janky while walking tho. Not sure if that's an issue on my side but it was frustrating nonetheless. Anyway, would love to hear what everyone thinks.

got holes in those jeans and won’t be stitching those holes shut because then holes will show up in other tension stress points and then it will be one entire headache to stitch those shut too. and I already hand stitched a pair of trousers for 1 month straight.

During the ending of Uncharted 4, Sam told Nate that he still feel like doing more adventures and they established his partnership with Sully, so it felt like they were leaving the door open for future games.

The wiki state that the developers initially thought of making Sam and Sully the MCs of the spin-off but then realized Sully's age will hinder the gameplay, which I find weird because Sully was fighting and climbing like normal during Uncharted 4.

I will appreciate some quick guidance as my PS Plus membership is gonna expire soon and I need to complete the rest of the game in 1-2 days.

I completed 2 of the challenges and only Parashurama’s bow is left but I can't figure out where to go. I am stuck in some area near the waterfall .

Anyone can give me some cue so that I can navigate to there?

​Brutal difficulty in Uncharted 1 is a textbook example of why higher difficulties need actual playtesting instead of lazy stat-bloat. ​

I can guarantee at least 90% of players who finished it only survived by using the tweak glitch to force Infinite Ammo and One-Shot Kills—and even with cheats enabled, it’s still an absolute test of patience.

​It doesn't add realism or genuine challenge; it just forces you to stare at a loading screen for the hundredth time because an aimbot enemy instantly deleted your health bar from across the map before you could even react. Worse yet, there are checkpoints where you can literally die during the loading screen or before the camera fade-in finishes, which is completely indefensible game design. ​

Defend it as "creating tension" all you want, but the only thing Brutal difficulty actually creates is a spike in broken controllers.

As is law, every treasure that functions as the goal of an Uncharted game has some dark and sinister secret to it.

If the Fountain of Youth or Holy Grail had been explored in the Uncharted series, how do you think they would be adapted?

*Update: After trying again for another half hour, I gave in and just restarted the chapter, losing my continuous speedrun. At least I still have my sanity.

**Update: I BEAT THE GAME YAY GENUINELY F**K THIS DIFFICULTY

I’ve gotten up until Chapter 16: The Treasure Vault with some speedrun skips and just setting my teeth and dealing with other sections, but now I feel like I’m rather stuck. I’m in the sorta puzzle area right after Eddy blows up a door and spots you then tells his men to kill Nathan. Because of the last encounter in the graveyard, and no ammo between there and this section, all I have is one SPAS shotgun round.

I’m able to kill the guy (to the left of Nathan’s head) that has a WES-44 no problem, but every time I try to pick up the gun I get absolutely destroyed. The guy on the top right has an AK and just demolishes me every time I get close. As a result, I’ve tried waiting for when he needs to reload, but every time I either can’t make it back to cover before he finishes reloading again, or I get shot by the other guys who move in and take some shots at me.

I’ve tried dozens of times to shoot the wes-44 guy to get his gun to land close to me so I don’t have to be exposed, but the closest I got was at the bottom of the stairs and I ended up dying on that attempt anyway. I’m sure I can eventually shotgun the guy in a way so that the gun lands nearer to me, but I’m a little at my wit’s end here.

And no, every time I reset checkpoint I’m not given any additional ammo. This is also my first brutal playthrough of U1 so no tweaks/gun select for me.

I grabbed this physical copy of Nathan drakes collection for 17.25 dollars, was this a good deal? I never played any uncharted game, and I wanted to try them out, especially becuse I didn't play them on my ps3, that I don't have anymore

I’ve been thinking about how Naughty Dog could continue the series without undoing the ending of Uncharted 4. I don’t think the answer is making Cassie “the next Nathan Drake.” I think the answer is letting every major character grow in a different direction.
Here’s my idea.
Cassie Drake is now in her early twenties and studying archaeology in graduate school. During an official university excavation, her team discovers an artifact covered in mysterious ancient symbols.
That night, an armed group attacks the excavation.
They don’t care about gold.
They don’t care about historical treasures.
They only want that single artifact.
Several members of the expedition are killed, the artifact disappears, and the incident is quickly dismissed by the authorities as an attack by local militants.
But Cassie notices something no one else does.
The attackers ignored everything except that artifact.
When she returns home, she shows Nate a fragment she managed to keep.
He stares at the symbol for a long time.
“…I’ve seen this before.”
Not because he knows what it means.
Not because he’s secretly hiding another lost civilization.
Only because somewhere during his decades of adventures, he’s seen that symbol before.
But instead of chasing another mystery, Nate does something completely different from the man he used to be.
He tells Cassie to stop.
To leave the investigation alone.
To suspend her archaeological research for a while.
To let the authorities handle everything.
From Nate’s perspective, this is exactly what a father should do.
He’s no longer chasing adventure.
He’s protecting his daughter.
But from Cassie’s perspective, it feels like betrayal.
Her professor was murdered.
People died.
The authorities are already burying the truth.
And the one person she thought would understand her tells her to walk away.
For the first time in her life, she realizes she can’t rely on her father—not because he doesn’t love her, but because he loves her too much.
So she turns to the only other person who understands that world.
Sam.
At first, Sam refuses.
He listens to everything Cassie says.
Then quietly tells her to go home.
He agrees with Nate.
Their adventures ended years ago.
No more lost cities.
No more guns.
No more risking the people they love.
Cassie argues with him.
She reminds him that innocent people were murdered.
Sam finally raises his voice.
“That’s exactly why!”
“You have no idea what this life takes from people.”
Cassie leaves in tears.
Sam sits alone that night.
Maybe in a quiet bar.
Maybe in a cheap motel.
He pulls out an old photograph of himself, Nate, Elena… and a young Cassie smiling as a child.
He remembers the promise he made to Nate.
That they were finally done with this life.
The next morning he hears more news.
Evidence has disappeared.
The investigation is being shut down.
Witnesses are vanishing.
He still doesn’t move.
Then he listens to a voicemail from Cassie.
Just one sentence.
“I’m sorry… I’m going alone.”
That’s the moment everything changes.
Sam smiles to himself and quietly says,
“…You’re just like your dad.”
He finally gets up.
Not to continue another adventure.
Not to hunt treasure.
Not to uncover history.
He leaves for one reason only.
To bring his niece home.
That’s his entire motivation.
But once he finds her, circumstances spiral out of control.
Little by little, the two of them become trapped in an adventure neither of them ever wanted.
That’s why I think Sam should be Cassie’s first companion.
Not because he’s replacing Nate.
Because he’s the only character caught between two promises:
The promise he made to his brother…
and the responsibility he feels toward his niece.
Eventually Nate catches up with them.
He’s furious.
Not because Sam betrayed him.
Because he sees his daughter holding a gun.
In that moment, both brothers realize the same thing.
The world they fought so hard to leave behind has reached the next generation anyway.
From there, the story stops being about treasure.
It’s about family.
It’s about whether parents should protect their children forever… or eventually accept that they have to choose their own path.
By the end, Cassie doesn’t become another treasure hunter.
She becomes something different.
She returns to archaeology, determined to preserve history instead of chasing fortune.
She inherits her father’s curiosity…
but not his life.
To me, that feels like the most respectful continuation of Uncharted 4.
Instead of undoing Nate’s happy ending, it challenges him in the one role he’s never truly faced before:
Being a father.
Would you play an Uncharted game like this?

I decided to finally try Uncharted (Nathan Drake Collection) on PS5, as I’ve missed it during the PS3 era (owned X360 back then).

I am currently near the end of first game - Drake’s Fortune (it says 90% complete) and I am honestly much less impressed than I hoped - I was told that Uncharted is one of the best Playstation series. I understand that it has its years so the graphics aren’t the best - that’s OK.

I like the characters and the traversing/parkour sections, but other aspects kinda fell short of expectations:

- the story has some good moments, but isn’t that interesting imo and doesn’t keep me engaged like other games where I wanted to know what will happen next

- combat is boring - waves of enemies (ugh), melee not really usable (standard enemies are easier to take down by guns, and the zombies give you one hit kills when approached melee)

- not much of a variety of environment, especially later in the game (underground sections look bland)

- the 2 sections with jet skis are extremely frustrating (not in a good way) due to poor controls, can’t believe anyone designed it and it got approved

- zombies in the later part of game feel totally out of place and the fights with them are just frustrating (not in a good way again)

- puzzles are almost laughably easy

- lack of “wow factor”, which is something I expected from this series

IDK if the ending will make it seem better, but now I see it as a 6/10 game, not bad, but not really impressive. Sorry if you like it, its just my opinion.

So, I’ve heard that Uncharted 2 is better than 1 - but is it that better, sl it would be worth playing even if I was unimpressed by the first one?

I was expecting simething like big epic story-driven Indiana Jones-like adventure, and instead got an average cover shooter with few frustrating sections and likeable cast.

I don’t know if this has been discussed yet or not but I think a cool prequel idea would be following the adventures of Sam and Nate’s mum, Cassandra.

We know she was “the greatest historian Evelyn ever knew” and no doubt there some stories to be told.
