People keep messaging me about my brother, do I have to message them back?

Upvotes

My brother is an alcoholic and has been airing his life on Facebook for the last year or so. Many posts are dark and incoherent; those are often deleted the next day. He has lost many friends, but has a lot of friends who still care about him. My brother and I are no longer close for many reasons, and haven’t spoken for several years, but we’re still friends on Facebook.

Here’s the thing: I have multiple unread messages from people, people I haven’t spoken to since I graduated from high school over 30 years ago asking me about my brother. Do I have to message them back? Should I? Aren’t they just being nosey?

Gf may be gay/asexual???

Upvotes

Alright so I (28m) and my gf (24f) have been together for almost a year. We’ve had a very good relationship, normal issues here and there but we usually communicate and work through it. Well recently my gf has been struggling with her sexuality, she told me she was bisexual from the jump but recently she’s expressed that she thinks she may be a lesbian and is now thinking she’s asexual. That part has been tough to navigate as we love each other very much and there’s no lie to that; and she doesn’t want to lose me romantically. It’s been over 6 months since we’ve been intimate, not the worst thing in the world with the love we share but basically she gave me a green light to sleep with other women (this was unprompted I have not brought it up or considered it as an option). I love my girlfriend and I don’t want to share my body with anyone else, I don’t want anyone else in my home, and I don’t want to pursue anyone else. She doesn’t either… and well basically I miss sex, but I miss it with her more than just “the act of sex”. Has anyone else been in this situation? What should I do? I’d rather only sleep with my girlfriend but she has no interest in sex whatsoever… I have needs but I don’t know if it’s worth taking her up on the arrangement. If anyone women have been in her position I’d especially appreciate your input. It still feels like cheating to me so I’m not sure how to proceed

How to find someone without being toxic

Upvotes

Hi I’m 25 m currently talking to and hooking up w a 25 f and 21 f independently. In the past I try flowers, compliments, ect. But I guess I come across as off putting and or weird. I hate that leaving a girl on read for a week or 2 is one of the surest ways to ensure continued interest. The only girl who ever told me she loved me, did so despite (or because) the first month of our relationship saw me at my absolute worst in terms of toxic behavior, she saw me comment on another girls page, had to deal w me hanging out w girl best friends alone yet we fell in love, I was the first man she introduced to her parents which is significant in her culture. My most healthy courtship I had recently (coworker fraternization) saw me give flowers gifts everything. She decided to friendzone me. Then a rumor (absolutely false) spread around work that I was seeing someone else and she came back. I just don’t get it I want to be someone to someone. I want to be good and devoted to someone. But the only thing that works for me is to be the worst of lesser version of myself.

I need some advice I did something possibly stupid

Upvotes

Like the title says I did something kind of stupid
I took paper towel and not even a ML of gas onto the paper towel to wash a cup my girlfriend had that had the sticky stuff on it from a bunch of stickers. And just for back story I’m 22 she is 21 and she lives with her mom and is now mad at me because there is a very very slight smell of gas in the house which yes I get is not ideal but it was so so small amount on a paper towel because I wanted to do something for her to help her out and now I’m being chewed out because of it. For reference her mom is a bitch and now she’s mad because she thinks when her mom gets home she’s gonna freak out about smelling gasoline. And yes I’ll admit I should’ve done it outside but I didn’t think such a small amount would leave the house with such a faint smell of gas. I’m now left feeling useless and like an idiot for trying to do something nice and prove that I know I few tricks in life. I opened all the windows for ventilation scrubbed down any surfaces close by the sink and sprayed air freshener.

Boyfriend never invites me to his things.

Upvotes

I know that title is very broad, so I will explain haha.

I know it is healthy to have alone time when in a relationship, and I agree with that completely and with the fact that you should be allowed to do things without your partner, but I just find it a little rude and weird that my boyfriend never invites me to anything.

When he has family events he never invites me. I’ve gone to three and only because his mom invited me or his uncle, otherwise it wouldn’t have been a thought in his mind. I always invite him to my family events because it’s important to me because he is a part of my life and an important part at that.

Recently, he has been going to hang outs with his friend groups which some of them bring their girl friends and also ask him to bring me, to which he said he responds: “no, she’s doing something”, just ignores the question, or just says “nah”.

He said we spend a lot of time together and he just doesn’t want to bring me and that he wants alone time just as I hang out with my friends…I hang out with one friend, I never go to bon fires or anything like that because I don’t have that many friends, and if I did I would invite him.

He said it’s not rude and is trying to make it seem like he can’t do anything without me, I’m not saying bring me everytime but it would be nice Ykwim. Idk, it makes no sense to me.

I can go more into it if anyone is curious.

Wrong environment

Upvotes

I live on the outside edge of a large town on one of two roads going south of said town, so its just far enough out of the way of anything to be too inconvenient to get to but there's still traffic so its like the worst of both. I moved to this state very specifically to do city shit and this spot is more out of the way than what I left.

There's things about the house, like there's four Great Pyrenees and its too much dog for me. Someones always barking loud as fuck at 11, mindight, 1am, sometimes the housemates will oversleep or overbook themselves and one of the dogs will shit in like the living room, then like what if I invite someone over and the whole place smells like shit.

But with all this, its given me pretty bad mental health problems, I don't have interest in shit, can't focus on shit, I feel like I'm wasting so much effort in getting to places or people that its putting a strain on potential relationships or community. I have zero interest in living here or this town, I didn't want to move here in the first place almost three years ago and feel like I've wasted the last three years putting so much off for some hypothetical point of moving back to a city.

My current idea is to do wildfire work for the summer to physically get me out of this space and have the funds to move out. I should also be getting some amount of inheritance somewhere between October and December that will definitely be enough to move. Right now, I'm in a little lull between fire calls, I had a short one and missed the second one cuz I was a dumbass. I was supposed to do wildfire last year with the same goal of moving out and being out of the space for the summer, but it fell through which resulted in me on call the entire summer spending more time in the space, because I wasn't getting paid to be on call, and in debt which worsened the mental health.

I think I'm a little freaking out because I cannot do an other fire season falling through. This is a lot of venting to strangers on the internet, but

I think in terms of advice, I think I need two parts 1: What to do in the immediate with the being on call and how to balance the living now (which largely requires spending money) with the trying to move later (which requires saving money) and 2: Navigating the housing market, especially as a single dude with a dog, I got autism and housing changes have always terrified me because I felt I would lack the social support to make those changes.

Husband kicked me out mid divorce

Upvotes

Me and my husband are currently going through a divorce. I’m the one who asked for it and there is so much I could say but long story short my needs were just being neglected and he became a whole different person. He started being more mean to me and spending less time with me. A couple months ago I found that he was hiding a lot from me including interacting with inappropriate content online. When I confronted him he lied and even when I forgave him and tried to move past it he continued lying and actually started to blame me for my behavior.

I tried to give him a second chance but he genuinely started changing for the worst and became too controlling. I sat him down and had a very long talk with him about how I feel and that I think divorce would be the best choice because I can’t keep being miserable at a young age. I told him I didn’t want him to change my mind and I just wanted to discuss things but he refused since, ‘there’s no point of talking if he couldn’t change my mind’.

Ever since that night we barely spoke and when we did we would argue which led me to just not wanting to talk. He started ignoring me because I didn’t want to argue. I had a flight booked this upcoming weekend to go back home and I was just trying to get through the week with no issues while preparing to leave peacefully. This morning, he barged into my room while I was sleeping and asked to see my phone in which I said no. I’ll be honest, I have absolutely nothing to hide but we are past the point of looking through phones or overthinking about what the other person is doing (been there, done that).

He started raising his voice and started getting aggressive because I wouldn’t show him my phone. What he was wanting to see is if I’m talking to the men I recently followed (2 of my old friends that I removed out of respect for him). He then started calling me a cheater and started cussing me out and told me that if I’m gonna talk to men in his apartment (he’s paying the bills atm) that I could leave today instead of this weekend. I said that’s fine because I know I’m not a cheater and if we’re going through a divorce and he’s not speaking to me that nothing in my phone concerns him anymore.

He gave me a deadline to leave the apartment and to pack my bags and take my car (he said he would ship it out for me before all of this). When I told my family they were absolutely baffled and told me to leave that apartment asap before he escalates things more. I’m now at my in laws and have no idea what I should do. Can anyone give me advice please?

I feel like an actual loser

I’ve only ever had one job, I don’t regularly do household chores, I bed rot pretty much everyday if I’m not cleaning or hanging out with someone, I’m going to community college, I haven’t touched my bass in weeks, and I smoke cigarettes. I feel like a failure. I just recently graduated in may and I’ve felt probably the most directionless ive ever been in my life. My dad made comment about me “acting like this at 17” while talking about my college admissions process, and submitting my financial aid, and that I should be embarrassed of the way I was acting. And that I was being lazy. And irresponsible. Which is true. I also struggle with keeping my room clean(nothing crazy), and social anxiety, and am a generally awkward/clumsy person. I feel like I should’ve grown out of whatever phase this is years ago and it just never caught up to me. I turn 18 in October and I’m really scared because it seems like everyone is fed up with me and there’s this lingering feeling that everyone is expecting me to fail. Which I feel like I’ve already done. And I have like 2 friends since graduation. And I got my feelings played with by this girl recently. I’m such a chud bro. How🥹do🥹i🥹fix🥹this🥹

caught using ai

Upvotes

I am currently in high school, and am attending a college online class. I have assignments weekly, and one week i forgot to open up an assignment and realized it was an entire essay. I stupidly used ai as a last resort. I regret this so much now. My current grade is a B in the class, and idk what to do. I think my parents will be mad, but they will be even madder if I used ai.

Can I get into big trouble if I say I used ai. I stupidly copied and pasted it into a document so I do not have a timeline of me writing it. I do not know what to do and feel like my life is over. It’s an extra boring summer class, but can this ruin my highschool career?

I am so scared, someone please help and give advice. I don’t want to lie, but I also don’t want to say I used it. My parents will not forgive me and I don’t want to ruin my high school.

If i do not respond, will the teacher report me? It does not ruin my grade horribly, I will just have a B.

22F struggling with my boyfriend’s (24M) past hookup becoming part of his friend group. How do I navigate this without being controlling?

Upvotes

My boyfriend (24M) and I (22F) are coming up on a year together. He is my first boyfriend, and I am his second girlfriend, so this is my first time navigating a lot of these emotions.

Before we met, he hooked up with a girl twice. They didn't have sex, but there is obviously still a sexual history there. She also goes to his gym, although as far as I know they don't talk or really interact there.

I want to make it very clear that I trust my boyfriend. Overall, he has been faithful, loyal, and honest with me. He reassures me, tells me he loves me, and has told me that this girl is not his friend. He knows this situation makes me extremely uncomfortable and, from what he's told me, he isn't exactly thrilled about it either.

My issue is that I don't trust her.

Based on what I know about her and her history with guys, I have my suspicions that she might actually get some sort of satisfaction from knowing that she has a sexual history with my boyfriend while I'm now his girlfriend. I realize I can't know for sure what she thinks, so I'm trying to separate my assumptions from reality. But regardless, I don't trust her intentions or feel comfortable with her.

Recently, one of the guys in my boyfriend's friend group started hanging out with her. The problem is that this isn't just some random group my boyfriend can easily stop seeing. Some of his family members are part of this friend group too. This guy seems to be getting closer with her, and now she's starting to be invited to their regular hangouts.

Tonight there was a group hangout that she was going to be invited to, and my boyfriend actually asked me beforehand if I was okay with him going. My immediate reaction was that I wanted to say no. We went back and forth about it because he understands why I'm uncomfortable, but he also wants to be able to see his friends and family.

And that's where I'm stuck.

If I am completely truthful, if it's fully avoidable, I would rather my boyfriend NOT casually hang out with someone he has a sexual or romantic history with. I'm not going to pretend that I'm totally cool with it because I'm not.

At the same time, I understand that there are situations in life where avoiding someone isn't realistic.

For example, we recently attended a gathering where his ex-girlfriend was supposed to be there. There was also another woman attending that he had kissed in the past. Both situations bothered me, especially because this is my first relationship and I've never had to deal with being around women who have history with my boyfriend.

But it was a gathering that was important for us to attend, and I knew it wouldn't be reasonable for me to ask him not to go solely because someone from his past might be there.

I was able to deal with that partly because it was one event. I knew I could be uncomfortable for a night and then move on.

This situation feels completely different because there isn't an end point.

If this girl becomes part of the friend group through his friend, she could now be at random hangouts, birthdays, parties, nights out, etc. It's not "we have to be in the same room for this one important event." It's potentially choosing to regularly socialize in a group that includes someone he has been intimate with.

I also have a hard time with his friend's role in this. Personally, I cannot imagine one of my friends knowing I had a sexual history with someone and then starting to bring that person around me and my serious partner regularly. My friends would know that would put both of us in an uncomfortable position. So part of me is angry that we're even being put in this situation.

For myself, I really don't want to attend these hangouts if she's there. I'm not going to enjoy myself. I'll probably be uncomfortable, compare myself to her, think about their history, and wonder what she's thinking. I don't particularly want to voluntarily put myself through that.

I've also made some petty comments about the situation, and I know that's not productive. I'm trying to be self-aware about my own behavior too.

This is my first boyfriend, so this is genuinely the first time I've experienced this type of jealousy and discomfort. I'm trying to figure out how much of this is something I need to learn to manage internally versus what is reasonable to ask for in my relationship.

Because I genuinely don't think my boyfriend is going to do anything with her. If I thought he wanted her or couldn't control himself around her, that would be an entirely different relationship problem. He hasn't given me a reason to believe that.

But "I trust my boyfriend" doesn't automatically make me comfortable watching someone he has hooked up with become a regular part of his social life.

I also don't want the solution to be that my boyfriend slowly loses his friend group or stops seeing his own family because this girl happens to be there. That doesn't feel fair either.

So what is the healthy middle ground here?

Is it reasonable to have a boundary that, when it's easily avoidable, I don't want my boyfriend regularly socializing with women he has a sexual history with? Does the fact that she's being brought into HIS existing friend group change that?

Would it be healthier for me to occasionally go to these hangouts and learn how to deal with the discomfort, or am I completely reasonable for saying, "If she's there, I'd rather stay home"?

And if I don't go, how do I deal with the feeling of knowing my boyfriend is hanging out somewhere with her?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have been in long-term relationships and have dealt with exes or past hookups becoming part of the social circle. I don't want to be controlling, but I also don't want to convince myself that I have to be comfortable with something that genuinely bothers me just to prove that I'm secure.

my dad has been making sexual/weird comments about me my whole life

Upvotes

I (16F) have been receiving weird comments/actions from my dad (48M) since I could remember. When I was younger I would go to my room to change after I showered and my dad would “jokingly” walk into my room and scare me while I was changing. At the time I thought it was funny but looking back I am concerned. A different time I was trying on dresses for my 5th grade graduation and I tried a dress on that was a little bit fitting, I came out the dressing room and my dad made a comment saying, “you have a sexy figure”, I was 11 years old and I was uncomfortable but I didn’t say anything, neither did my mom who was also there.

At my sisters graduation, my sisters feet started to hurt because of her heels, so my dad had me and her switch shoes because I was wearing sandals at the time; I was also wearing denim shorts. Once I put on the heels and stood up my dad looked at me and said, “you look like a prostitute”, and told me to pose for a photo with him. I told him I didn’t want to take a photo with him because I felt uncomfortable by his comment, he made me do it anyways.

When I was younger (pre puberty) me and my family went on a vacation and one day we decided to go on a hike but I didn’t bring anything to wear so I had to wear on of my other sister shirt that was too small for me. At this time I wasn’t in the stage of wearing bras so the shirt was visibly too small for me. On the hike we took photos around the area, one with me and my dad. Later when my dad was looking through the photos, he said his favorite photo from the trip was one of me and him. That was the only photo that had my nipples showing through the shirt, and that photo of me and him was specifically his favorite because I looked “so cute”.

Now, every time I wear tank tops that show the roll of my mid drift he always has to squeeze my stomach and he noticeably looks at me for a little. I’m conflicted because I don’t know if I am of resentful of these actions but in the moment and looking back I am visibly uncomfortable. I am seeking advice

I found out my mom is cheating on my dad, but that’s not even what I’m worried about.

Upvotes

I’m 20F. My mom (47F), me, and my boyfriend were driving home from the beach a few days ago. I was asleep in the backseat, but apparently my boyfriend was awake in the front. He saw my mom sexting another man (someone in the same profession as her). He pretended to stay asleep because he didn’t know what to do, and he told me later that night.
The thing is… it’s honestly not even the cheating that’s upsetting me.
My parents haven’t lived together for about three years. They refuse to get divorced. It’s not because of money or assets—if anything, they’re both in terrible financial situations. My mom is around $2 million in debt between student loans, a mortgage, and credit cards, and my dad isn’t doing much better financially.
The real reason they haven’t divorced is because my mom is extremely religious and doesn’t want the shame of being divorced. My dad is still deeply in love with her. My mom doesn’t love him anymore, but I think she likes having him around because she’s afraid of being alone.
The complicated part is that my dad isn’t some innocent victim here either. He’s cheated on my mom more times than I can count with multiple different women over the years. So this isn’t really about who’s right or wrong.
What I’m scared about is my dad’s reaction if he finds out.
Years ago, he put a gun to my mom’s head and threatened to kill her over a $500 argument. My mom also has a habit of saying things specifically to provoke people when she’s angry or backed into a corner.
Now my dad is coming over soon because they’re supposedly going to talk about possibly moving back in together, and I am genuinely terrified that if he finds out about this, someone could get seriously hurt.
I don’t know if I’m overreacting because of what happened before or if this is a situation where I should actually be doing something. I don’t want to betray either of my parents, but I also don’t want to ignore something if there’s a real risk of violence.
What would you do in my position?

Turned down a great job for a job that was starting sooner

Upvotes

So after a long journey of job hunting I was blessed with 2 offers on the same day recently.
1st was healthcare, onsite (hourly, benefits starting day 1) and starting in a week from the offer and the other one (2) was a remote somewhat still healthcare job (salary position) which I knew in my heart would’ve probably been the better decision for me but I decided to accept the 1st job because it was starting like a month sooner than the remote one.

Both are the same pay (roughly) with good benefits. Only 1st one was hourly 2nd was salary. Although I’ve never worked a salary job before only hourly. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life and I respectfully declined the 2nd offer, even after they were trying to offer me a counter offer after I initially declined. But I still needed something ASAP due to financial situation and my rent needing paid, I declined the remote job again respectfully due to the start date being too far away.

Well, I started the other job recently and as you’ve probably guessed if you made it this far, I am already having regrets. It’s been an absolute disaster already and I’m only a couple days in. It’s so unorganized, the commute is 30 min and will get worse once school starts, and is in a field that I’m used to— but quite burned out in.

I can’t help but feel like I ruined such a great opportunity for a new career and my future and I’m so mad at myself. I was in great contact with the recruiter for the other company and we ended the conversation on good terms in my opinion.

I guess what I’m wanting to know is, can you ask for reconsideration for a position that you initially were offered but respectfully declined?

I’ve never been in this situation and I just hate that I ruined a good opportunity just because I needed $ asap.

I’m torn between my friends and that one friend

Upvotes

I (21M) have 3 close friends whom I’ve known since my first year of uni. During that first year, I also became friends with another classmate let’s call him Caleb.
We were never particularly close; however, we’d hang out about once a year and occasionally have deep conversations. He’s an outgoing person and a true definition of a social butterfly. He’s friends with juniors, seniors, professors, staff, pretty much everyone. He would always greet me with a smile and say that he feels like I’m his “comfort person,” even though we don’t talk much. He has always been incredibly kind and friendly to me.
About a week ago, I was hanging out with my friends, and they asked what I had been doing the previous day. I mentioned that I had been hanging out with Caleb. Long story short, they told me that Caleb had deceived them. Apparently, he has a not so great history with each one of them. They said he used to be extremely nice to them, & later talk behind their backs.

They then insisted that I cut off my friendship with him. I told them, “Guys, I’ll try to keep the relationship superficial, but if he comes up to talk to me, I can’t just push him away.” One of them got upset and said, “If someone wronged your sibling, would you still be friends with them?”
I understand the point they were trying to make, and I know the same thing could happen to me as well. But Caleb has shown me nothing but respect and appreciation. We’ve had some genuinely memorable interactions. Because of his social butterfly personality, he tends to be a people pleaser, so I can imagine that he might speak badly about one group of people just to fit in with another. That’s one of the reasons I’ve never tried to deepen our relationship into a close friendship.
Caleb sent me a message two days ago just to check on me as I was sick, but I still haven’t replied. I feel like if I do reply, I’m being a hypocrite toward my friends. But if I don’t reply, I’m being a hypocrite to myself because he has never wronged me. Idk what to do about the situation.

How do I handle my dad grounding me after he falsely blamed me for an accident?

Upvotes

(Forgive me if there are writing mistakes, English is my second language. This post came from r/teenagers.)

Hey everyone, I (13M) need some advice on how to handle my living situation right now.

A few days ago, my dogs tripped on the router wiring in our living room and pulled it down. The router didn't break, but I yelled "fuck" out of surprise. My dad came running in, demanding to know what happened. When I told him the dogs tripped on the wires, he completely lost it, yelling at me about how the air cooler shouldn't be next to the wires, even though I didn't put the cooler there, and the dogs weren't even near it.

When I calmly told him the air cooler had nothing to do with it, he got louder and started arguing that a son has to "simply obey his father's commands and not ask questions." He then grounded me, saying, "Go to your fucking room because of the anger you've caused me and so you learn." I said "Learn what?" and walked away Now, my dad and I haven't talked in almost a week because I'm avoiding him. My mom is demanding that I apologize to him and stop leaving the room when he enters, and she grounded me too when I refused to be around him.

He treats everyone in the house like this, but my family just takes it silently. I'm sick of pretending this behavior is normal, but avoiding him is making my home life miserable.

How do you guys deal with overly aggressive or unfair parents when you still have to live with them? Should I just keep my head down, or is there a better way to handle this without losing my mind?

Still have feelings for someone I met during a psychotic episode

Upvotes

**I have long since come back down to earth, am in therapy, et cetera.**

I can maybe go into more detail if that’s helpful but for now I’m most comfortable leaving it brief. It’s been ~2 years and I still haven’t met anyone who comes close. Accepted wisdom would say I ought to let it go and accept that he has his own life but I continue to have such affection & admiration for him. It hurts to think about. He’s a theater actor in my general area, although we’re not super geographically close, and I do go to live plays from time to time. He was actually in one in my city recently and I considered going. I got cold feet in the end and didn’t attend his play because I didn’t know whether it would be appropriate to show my face or go up to him after the show and apologize for how I behaved during my episode.

How do I tell my friend I need alone time?

Upvotes

I’m someone that’s needs alone time to recharge. I didn’t know until recently. My best friend hangs with me daily now. But it feels so exhausting. I don’t know how to tell him that I need me time because he has like no other friends to hang with, and wants me to train him. Idk I like training all alone in my home gym, it’s like therapy for me. I don’t know how to tell him that.

Boyfriend refuses to use condoms because they "ruin the vibe"

Upvotes

I recently started dating a guy, and things have been going really well. We recently agreed that we were both ready to have sex for the first time.

Before anything happened, I made it clear that I only wanted to have sex if we used a condom. To me, it’s about protecting both of us from pregnancy and STIs, especially since we’re still getting to know each other.

He told me condoms “ruin the vibe” and that they don’t feel as good. Since then, he’s been acting distant and giving me attitude whenever I bring it up. He keeps saying that if I really trusted him, I wouldn’t insist on using one.

Social anxiety self sabotage.

Upvotes

An upfront note, yes I know that friendships come and go. I know that nothing lasts forever. And most importantly, im aware that everyone struggles with friendships at every age. That aside, I have a few questions.

Im 17f. im at a weird age where boys are nasty and testing the boundaries of whether or not they can hit, and girls are deciding whether or not they'll let them. Girls dont typically like me, so I hang out with dudes.

issue with this is they always want me to let them hit subtly, and start talking about sex. I dont exactly blame them but I dont exactly like it either. So typically, i shut them down. typically in a cutthroat way, but that just makes enemies. not to mention, im used to being online where people arent toxic. when im in an environment where people are less toxic, idrk what to do.

recently I found a group where I fit in pretty well I genuinely liked everyone's personality, people were genuinely unique, interesting, kind, and i enjoyed being in there. however, I am socially anxious. Any sign of minor disinterest in people, my brain automatically pivots to the worst possible case scenario. "They hate you because youre homeschooled and a b.tch." I have genuine examples of people disliking me and outcasting me based off those two factors, so its not out of the question.

due to my anxiety I coped the only way I knew how, I left the group. Its been hours. nobody has reached out to me. nobody has asked me if i am okay. I dont know if thats normal for online or my fears are true. In their defense, I unfriended everyone. Amd before you say it, no I didnt leave because I wanted to be chased. I left because I couldn't stand the stress of constantly looking back at the chats to see if someone replied to me, or if they cared after all. They were my friends and I hoped every second that they liked being around me as much as I liked being around them.

tldr: I let my anxiety fuck up a group of friends I really enjoyed being around. they didnt bother reaching out to me, which only feeds my anxiety.

Anyway... any suggestions? comments? advice? I dont know if i can go on like this, somethings got to give. I cant keep letting my head fuck me up.

Should I tell a guy I have feelings for him?

Upvotes

I am f23 and have always been very shy. I never really had a boyfriend and honestly only been on a couple dates my whole life. I joined a church group and met this guy who has been a blessing. He is so sweet, caring, and funny. He is literally everything I ever want in a guys we have went to the movies and got dinner a couple times as friends outside of our church group. The issue is he is 36 and divorced. I’m embarrassed to even say I have feelings for him. I’m unsure if my feelings are real or not. Maybe he is just the first guy to give me attention and the feelings are just because of that. I’m an unsure if I should tell him how I feel or just leave everything as is.

Is liking a coworker a bad idea?

Upvotes

There’s someone I work with that I’ve liked for a while. We’ve worked together for about three years, and we hang out outside of work sometimes. It’s pretty mutual in terms of who asks to hang out, and we text outside of work too. The thing is, I’m not really sure if she likes me back. She recently ended things with a guy, so she’s single now, but I have no idea if that changes anything or if she only sees me as a friend. I’m worried that if I ever said something and she didn’t feel the same way, it could make work awkward. At the same time, I don’t want to keep wondering “what if.” For anyone who’s been in a similar situation, what would you do? Is it usually better to leave it alone, or is it worth taking the risk? Has anyone here had a good or bad experience liking a coworker?

Should I Report Him?

Upvotes

I (21 FTM) am in a social work class that is doing placements with vunerable populations soon, which is why im worried:

Guy in my class has been continuously making weird flirty comments towards me to which i have been explicitly saying "ew" "thats weird" and making disgusted facial expressions. When i joined in a group discussion and someone asked how his day was and he said: "it was so much better now that [my name] is here" people could tell i was visibly uncomfortable, asked me about it in front of him, and I said yeah that was weird of him to say. THIS IS HAPPENING IN FRONT OF HIM! So i thought this 2as a good hint i am not interested.

then today we are mid lecture im taking notes, then I feel a hand on my back. He starts rubbing my back and leans into me and whispers "youre did such good job". I turned around to him and explicitly said "what the hell is wrong with you". He smiled.

I had some people hype me up at lunch and I confronted him about it at our next break to which he said he was doing it in a "bro" way. "Bros" dont do this to my knowlege. It seemed to cease for the rest of the day.

Do you think I should talk to the prof about this? I am worried about him working with vunerable populations who struggle to set boundaries, but this isnt SA so I am not sure what can be done. Muliple witness to his continous flirting and when he actually rubbed my back would be able to confirm everything including my disgusted faces. But it isnt like he was doing something insane, just harassment lvl.

What do you think I should do? Would anything even be done?

Stepmom walked in on me with boyfriend. She’s being weird now.

Upvotes

I’m F18 if it matters. Thought about not posting this because I’m anxious even airing it out but I guess that’s what Reddit is for. Using an alt..

My bf comes over to my house to hang out sometimes and I go to his sometimes and we do typical stuff (movies, scroll on our phones together, whatever) and ofc we have sex but we can’t at his house since his parents are really strict with me not being in his room. So we do that at my house but my dad is strict too but not home a lot for work.

We were at my house and thought we were home alone and so we were having sex when my stepmom walks in on us and apologized and closed the door. She talked to me after my bf left about not doing that and if I did to use protection because she said she noticed we weren’t. Which I was like ???? Weird.

Then told me she wouldn’t get me in trouble with my dad by not telling him but then the next day brought this up AGAIN and asked me inappropriate questions like how long we have been having sex and if I always enjoy it.

I don’t want to tell my dad because I don’t want him to yell at me or not let my bf come over anymore but my stepmom’s comments are weirding me out and feel inappropriate? I’m very not confrontational and I don’t confront her and I feel too cringey to confront her but I don’t want to make a scene telling my dad and I have second thoughts on even saying anything because if she just stops then maybe it’s nbd.

I guess I want to know what to do here. Do I leave it alone and let it die out? Or do I tell my dad? Or would bringing this up blow it out of proportion? My stepmom and I have never liked each other (mostly me not liking her but her being rude to me too).

Need advice regarding the gradual creation of my Vyond animation [Repost for more attention]

Upvotes

Hey y'all, i'm a 15 year old male creator who's currently making a special, intended to be long form Vyond animation for YT and other platforms. Keep in mind that it isn't like "usual" videos made using the service, it more so just conveys a fantastical original story using it.

Due to the aim of the scale (and the fact that it's my first Vyond/GoAnimate video), i know it'll take quite an amount of time to make it. Heck, i made a list for the adjectives - characters, voices, script, English subtitles, props, soundtrack, settings, backgrounds, etc. Not to mention struggling with occasional lack of interest feelings seeping through or distractions that pop up.

My feelings of wanting to make this are big, and i also don't want to keep the audience waiting too long. Any advice relating to this?
