An ambient post-classical (?) track taken from a renaissance piece by Bauldeweyn. The notes of the original were permuted, shuffled about and reordered without adding any new ones. I actually reduced it back by taking some notes out that I didn't like. So it is a bit of a selectionist strategy, like in evolution.

Only the fittest notes survive :)

Hio! I’m a software/game developer, not a trained composer or particularly accomplished pianist. I wrote this mostly by ear and MIDI experimentation, so I’m sure there are things I don’t have enough experience to notice. I need it to be actually good though for a project I'm working on.

Pachelbel’s Keygen — Ascent to Elevation 100 is a solo-piano piece built on the ground from Pachelbel’s Canon. It progresses through a series of increasingly elaborate eight-bar “elevations,” adding canon, inversion, mirrored figures and denser counterpoint before reaching a deliberately excessive summit and then destabilizing.

The escalation is part of the concept, but I don’t want that to excuse weak writing. I’d especially appreciate honest feedback on:

• whether the later sections actually develop the material or just add notes;
• harmony, voice leading, counterpoint or notation that seems unintentionally wrong;
• awkward or implausible piano writing;
• obvious musical opportunities I failed to take advantage of;
• whether the ending feels earned.

The audio is a synthetic performance I rendered in Reaper from the raw MIDI (since probably only five humans on the planet could play this), so I’m mainly interested in the composition itself. Please feel free to be direct—measure numbers and concrete suggestions would be extremely helpful.

Hey everyone, this is the fourth track in a series of compositions depicting my worldbuilding in musical form. This one depicts the act of Creation itself by the Creator in this worldbuilt setting. While there are 3 main motifs that recur in the piece (the three that occur one after the other at the very start with the solo cello), it also contains a variety of short motifs that later pieces will each expand upon.

I tried out a few different techniques here that may not be fully practical for harp/vibraphone/strings, so please let me know. I included the col legno on strings and the harp tremolos because of their sound, but if this was practically being performed, I’d try to find some suitable replacement or other technique that makes a similar sound ideally.

Hi! I composed this waltz inspired by Tchaikovsky's Album for the Young, Op. 39 (that I am currently learning at the piano). The form is ABA', with A being the main waltz theme and B a slower lyrical section in Cmaj.

I'm writing a third work: a romanza, a fan work inspired by Stranger Things. Jonathan from the show and Eli, an oc that is from a fanfic that i am currently working on.

I wanna ask how can i make the piece sound more fluid and less complicated. I am neurodivergent and an amateur composer with a lot of music theory, and whatever music theory I have comes from high school, which was over 14 years ago. I retained that much information because of choir. I attended choir for four years during high school, and whatever I was taught is what I have retained. Other than that, it is all self-taught. Composer-influencers are on the rise! Youtube is a medium with the potential to transform fortunes for composers and provide income from their work. There are trade-offs though.
