I see this advice all the time in this sub. People say that fapping with your imagination is better than porn, and I usually agree with that. But is it really? I mean isn’t the whole point of this journey to just not fap? I did it using my imagination today and it was just the same feeling of regret after, as always. I just wonder if this actually can help with this journey.

I wouldn’t mind some help

While studying, the image pops up in the brain, and then the urge to watch porn increases. How do I deal with this? I have tried doing push-ups and meditation when the urge appears, but it is not working. What else can I do?

In my opinion, Rule 34 and the idea around it is mass sexual grooming. I think a huge portion of people here were introduced to pornography through stumbling upon it online, maybe looking up a character you liked as a child and finding pornographic content of said character. A lot of Rule 34 defenders will simply say "well it's your parents fault for not moderating your internet history" - there's an element of truth in that parents should moderate their children's internet access but you as an adult also have accountability.
If you know that a medium is created, designed and targeted at children and still make pornographic content of it as an adult then you are also at fault. When you create and distribute pornographic content of a children's show then proceed to act like it's not your fault when children (the media it was designed for) access it. An example of this would be Pokemon, specifically the Gardevoir pokemon. Pokemon was originally designed for children but if you look up a popular pokemon on Google even with safe search on you will stumble upon very suggestive content.
The grooming aspect is real - many of the people who make such content know exactly what they are doing and want to get children hooked to pornography at a young age so they can eventually develop paraphilic fetishes similar to themselves. There's also the aspect that these children who are addicted to pornographic content at a young age are much easier to groom and mould.
What's really fucked up is how these communities have their own coded language and systems to justify what they're doing. They'll hide behind "artistic freedom" or "it's just fictional characters" while knowing damn well kids are the ones most likely to search for this stuff. It's like they're creating this pipeline where kids get exposed, get confused about their sexuality, and then some of them grow up to create the same kind of content, perpetuating the whole cycle.
The platforms are complicit too. They know this content exists, they know it's tagged with names kids will search for, but they don't do shit about it because engagement equals money. Even when they pretend to have safeguards, the algorithms still push this stuff because it generates clicks.
And let's be real about the psychological impact here. When your first exposure to sexuality is seeing characters you loved and identified with as a kid in these degrading situations, it wires your brain wrong. It creates these fucked up associations between innocence and corruption that can stick with you for years.
Personally I think this is a huge problem most people don't know or don't care about even though there's 10s of millions of people around the world who consume it and maybe millions of children exposed to it at a young age. In my personal case I was exposed to it at like 12 and messed up a lot. The worst part is how normalized it's become in nerd culture. People make jokes about it, reference it casually, without ever considering the actual harm being done. It's like we've collectively decided that kids' exposure to pornography is just an unavoidable part of growing up now, which is absolutely insane when you think about it.
Have you noticed how this has affected other people you know, or do you mostly see it as something you experienced personally?

Day 4. My longest streak was 6 days (about two months ago). It's only been a few days, and while it's still progress, I don't feel that proud because the urges haven't been very strong yet. I'm not sure if that makes it any less of an achievement, though. I'd like to hear your thoughts
Some people say keeping track of your streak can distract you since it reminds you of fapping I want a genuine answer for yall if you don’t mind

Yesterday i watched the founder
And today i worked at mcdonalds just out of curiosity
And it was very hard !!
I got accepted into the job but I don’t think i have enough stamina for it even though i go to the gym
But it was fun
I dont like mcdonalds food but after working with the staff in the kitchen i might eat it from time to time
Because of how clean the cooking is in my country
Another day of nofap
Today was a good day

Have been completely cold turkey but urges have got me wanting to peek just a little! Help!

I relapsed earlier and though I was strong at first part of me is tired and wants to just give in. I could use someone to talk me out of sinking in again.
