Lore question How deadly would the Revenants be if they got off the island?

Post image
Upvotes

Given how Alex Wesker released these particularly gruesome monstrosities afterwards and they utterly decimated all the Afflicted infected in a rather short span of time I am curious to see what would happen if they were unleashed in a city or were mass produced beyond what we saw.

That and perhaps better constructed since Alex had made the Revenants rather haphazard, but I still imagine them being quite deadly, especially with how they seem to be glass cannons in terms of B.O.W combat potential. Very deadly, but once the Ouroboros blister emerged could be taken down rather easily.

But I still see these things causing a lot of death and destruction before being taken out.

Forum question OG RE3 with classic rebirth crashes whenever trying to start original mode or mercenaries.

Upvotes

Hi!

I've recently beaten original RE3 3 times (in arrange mode which works perfectly) and I wanted to try original mode and mercenaries, but whenever I try to start either of them it just crashes the game. In original mode, it crashes on the black screen with white text (farewell to my life, farewell to my home) after cutscenes. In case of mercenaries it's pretty much the same - I can choose the character and start the game but it crashes when similiar black screen with text appears.

I'm playing on GOG version and I've installed official 1.1.0 patch by sourcenext and classic rebirth dll from the classic rebirth site. I've already tried running the game in all compatibility modes, as an admin and doing full reinstall of the game and the patches. Nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas what could I do to fix this?

I'm attaching the screenshot of my settings if it's important in any way, although I tried experimenting with those too so i doubt it's because of them.

General RE7 I got a lot of supply boxes and coins at the beginning of the game .

I’m guessing it’s some kind of dlc. I just bought that collectors Edition for my switch 2 with re7, biohazard and requiem. It feels like I’m cheating. Am I?

General Resident evil biggest problem-Stagnation

Hello everyone, I write this post with love for the franchise and a desire for it to succeed and grow even more. But right now I believe its facin its biggest problem.

I believe everyone knows that re requiem was a big success, yet I've seen people say more and more that it was a very good game but it wasnt a "masterpiece". I also believe that, I played the game once or twice and really didnt played it anymore for some reason...It just didnt pull me back in. And I believe that the reason is stagnation.

By the time re6 came out, the franchise was was walking to its own grave, wesker died in Re5 and with him, the biggest element of the story tying to the older story died too. There was no longer a main villain, umbrella was dead, and our heroes already reached the status of super soldiers, they reached max level, and resident evil 6 demonstrated that, the villain was kinda lackluster, the action was over the top, and the story kinda lacked focus, It was a big event in world, but in the bigger picture little happend.

So resident evil 7 came, a much needed soft rebot, the scale was way smaller, we had a new protagonist, a new deadly disease that wasnt a virus, a new plot point with blue umbrella, BSAA becoming evil and the connections were introduced. Everything finally had focus, there were a ton of plot points to be developed and answers to be answered. And yet re8 came, and the only thing it explained was how the umbrella logo was made. Sure it had those weird chris clones, but they were so minimal and without focus that I almost forget about it... Oh and chris's new squad of course.

Where is blue umbrella, the connections, where is the BSAA, where are the connections... And my boy ethan died... The game felt like a low stakes spinoff, even tho the story of ethan and his daughter was beautifull, it wasnt tied to anything worth the scale that a numbered title shoud have.

So we came to re requiem. And I felt that the problems with re6 showed again, a villain that was kinda meh, an attack that didnt really move anything forward storywise, still tied to umbrella that to this day is a horse that was beaten to death so hard that it turned itno goo.

The connections were back, and even more loudly this time, but it wasnt loud enough for me, we still know nothing about them, I feel that in the span of 3 numbered titles we should have WAY more info on them then we actually have... Where is blue umbrella, BSAA, where is chris and his squad. Why do we have leon back? What part of his story was developed besides him being married, I actually wouldnt mind him dying on re8 with a big dramatic scene, it would be so incredibly sad and a worthy death to a character so beloved and important to gaming would become history.

Leon's infection as well as Racoon city syndrome felt like the whole chris being evil debacle in re8 where in the end was just a silly thing that really wasnt that big of a deal.

In the end, nothing actually changed, the world remained the same, the characters remained the same, even Leon that actually had that interesting part of his character regarding his survivor's guilt wich I think was underdeveloped... In the end he was just the same.

I think the Developers need to actually start planning a bigger story. A new big baddie that doesnt die at the end of the game he show up, they need to actually focus on the things the introduce in previous games and ACTUALLY DEVELOP them.

It actually feels like capcom is scared to stop repeating the same formula and start taking the same risks re7 took. Because thats how the originals made it, the initial trilogy had umbrella and racoon city, stories that were standalone yet connected and developed in meaningfull ways, where you can actually tell "the story of racoon city" in a book, from its beggining in the arklay mountains to its eventual destruction. What overall story to the new games have?

To make this short, Resident evil needs focus, a new main villain, a new virus that actually matters, maybe a new setting, and to actually focus and develop plotpoints.

I would love to discuss this with you guys, and lease remember, i on your team, I love this world and these characters, please dont be mean, and I would liekt osay even tho I played all the games, Im not a lore scollar, so If I get anything wrong even if its big, care to explain it to me in a calm and respectful manner, I hope this post generates a big discussion!!!

Product question are the PS5 versions of the original RE2 and RE3 good?

Hello,

I recently played through the RE2 and RE3 remakes and I’m curious to check out the originals. I see that they’re available on PS5, which would be most convenient for me.

Am I missing out on anything if I go for those versions instead of the PC versions, or another version running on an emulator?

Forum question My first time finishing RE7, how did I do?

This is my 4th resident evil game after finishing my first one (RE3 Remake) 17th June 2026.
I finished after that RE2 Remake, RE Revelations 1 and I bought RE4 Remake.

RE7 was an impossible game for me to play, I was not in the horror genre, because I get (was) scared pretty easily from such games, NOW IM DIFFERENT.

In my humble opinion, I don't think RE7 was that scary, sure it has some moments but throughout the 8.5 hour journey I would say I was scared 2 or 3 times, mainly because of Jack Baker jump scares and Mia one time.

This game was very fun to play, I enjoyed it and I had a great time, I will try to speedrun it and play some of the extra modes.

I think what made people think RE7 was very scary is that the fact 3 RE games came before it that were more into action than horror, when RE7 came out people were already accustomed to action RE game.

Lore question Movie Question: It is all Umbrellas fault (duh)? Spoiler

When Alice and the guy get out of the Hive, we would assume the Virus only exists outside in HIS body. The Red Queen wouldn't have cared if infected people got out if the virus existed in the world, right? So by going Back 2 Da Hive to 'see what happened', that must be when the Virus got out? Why didn't they just ask Alice what happened? For a mega global pharma weapons corp, that is such a stupid mistake.

Forum question Should I trophy hunt Both the RE Revelation Games?

Post image

As of lately I've been trophy hunting for Every Mainline Resident Evil Game. I'm currently on RE6, once I'm finished ill only have requiem left. The question is should I gun for both RE Revelation 1/2?
Or do you not really consider those worth? I've had my eyes on them and see that they are both the grind type (for multiplayer) do you think I'd be wasting my time or appreciating the game and go for the trophies?

this is a headcanon, are sfw headcanons allowed on the forum? If so, I just think he would’ve loved the science concept behind the film. Humanity wanting to go beyond extinction. Einstein theory. I think Wesker would’ve loved TARS
