Forum question Is there any game you would consider *better* than Resident Evil 4?
Like, is there a similar game, that actually pulls of RE4 better than RE4? I'm looking for something else to play.

I tried everything I could but I cannot bring myself to like this game in any way, most of the encounters need you to be good at the dodging mechanic that is so unreliable and annoying and doesn't work most of the time, they added choices to make up for the fact that you play as one character but the outcome of those choices don't really change anything all that much, I feel like there was more replay value in resident evil 1 and 2, basically the dodging in this game is dogshit, specially after playing revelation 2 which probably has the best dodging in the franchise, the boss fights with Nemesis just feel like I have to pack enough healing items to tank whatever attack he does because dodging him is near impossible

Kinda feel dumb asking this question cause it seems obvious but I couldn't find anything about it with a quick google search. Anyone else notice how Grace's name uses the same first 3 letters of Ashley's first and last name, but reversed? ASH-ley GRA-ham / GRA-ce ASH-croft

What’s everyone’s opinion on physical disks going away I think Veronica is gonna the last resident evil game I buy if I can’t get the others in physical form wich would mean part nine would be the last game for me in the main timeline unfortunately.

I need more herbs/heals and ammo like usual, but I’m kitted up!

Now let’s face it, I love the games but the events of the games are definitely avoidable but they’re still great to play and watch the story play out, however regarding village I have an interesting take. What if Chris had told Ethan what was going on? In my honest opinion I feel like the events of the game would’ve played out relatively the same if he had, somewhere in there Chris would’ve said something or done something that made Ethan go on his own, anyone else feel this way?

As of lately I've been trophy hunting for Every Mainline Resident Evil Game. I'm currently on RE6, once I'm finished ill only have requiem left. The question is should I gun for both RE Revelation 1/2?
Or do you not really consider those worth? I've had my eyes on them and see that they are both the grind type (for multiplayer) do you think I'd be wasting my time or appreciating the game and go for the trophies?

My biggest issue playing Code Veronica on my PS5 is I can't see a damn thing because of the lack of brightness. Also, no way to change the brightness at all unless I'm missing something

It took me longer to manage my inventory to make room to pick up the RPG than the actual fight was…

first: why was simmons shooting bananas in the bossfight
second: was the whole game started due to carla's and Simmon's poor marriage
third: why did they make ada look like that instead of using RE4 version?

Hello fellow RE fans! I just platinumed Requiem (loved it) and am a long-time fan of the franchise. I thought I would jump on here and ask about the games that I have not played. Which classics have I accidentally ignored vs. which am I lucky that I never touched? Following are the games in the franchise that I've played in the order I've enjoyed them:
What should my 10th Resident Evil game be? Thanks for the help!

Does the movement of the character still works like 1999? Right and left only turns, up goes front and down goes moonwalker? Or they changed that? I'm not sure I can re-learn PSX way of playing anymore. Ty in advance
Thx again for the answers guys, didn't even know its was called tank controls lol.

I did one for resident evil 7 and now im doing one for resi 8
Im gonna misspell alot of names laugh in the comments
Overall i love village
I like how it flows its simple and easily understandable you go through and beat dimitresque then you have to beat beneviento then morue then Heisenberg then Miranda
I'd say the lords are better than the baker family
The lords have slot more personality and not a single one of them is bland but the baker family i think lucas is a little interesting but kinda corny same for Margaret but not corny just nothing much to her and jack is cool and funny but ultimately not much to him and the grandma is creepy but literally nothing else
And it helps alot for a games antagonists to be interesting cool and have themes
Let's start with dimitresque
I think she is a bit too easy for a stalker enemy she is alot like mr x but the layout of the castle is something you expect to be running away from more like a nemesis type stalker
The castle is large and you can easily lose dimitresque just put some hiding spots in the dead ends and viola you can make dimitresque faster and have more attacks
Also it feels weird for dimitresque to be so mad at you but all she does is slow walk towards you
The 3 vampire fly women are interesting i guess their most intriguing part is that they are made out of insects which is cool and their side boss battles are fun and that's all they need to be
And the themes are great you have the angel statues with their attributes and shit you have the misandrism of dimitresque and her daughters and it mixes together pretty well
And the best part is how utterly beautiful everything is even the whine blood room thing
Moving onto beneviento
Its the shortest one but i think it does something not alot of horror games do
Which is to have the horror be sparce
Resi 8 does this more than resi 7 which is easy considering that resident evil 8 aside from this specific section is not even slightly scary
But house beneviento being the only horror section helps bc you are just not expecting it at this point
And it builds up dread and delivers on it with the fetus monster really well
Also the chase thing where you chase donna i had a brain fart and forgot one of the rooms existed which was specifically the room donna was hiding in so i died like 5 times
Moving onto morue
I like his character bc he isn't really self centered like the others he does this so that he gets appreciated by miranda
His part is the second most fun in my opinion in terms of combat and i loved the final boss fight alot
Not much else to say so moving onto Heisenberg
His part is both super beautiful in the environments and story and the combat the final boss was fun but the common enemies were way better than the lycans and zombies from before
Like i actually had to use considerable resources that wasnt just my shot gun and pistol
Altho i think the new weapons were way too expensive i think i used the magnum twice the whole playthrough
Overall best part maybe in my opinion
My favourite lord might be donna and angie bc of how grounded and human they are whilst being the most terrifying
I think miranda is fine nothing crazy
Overall a 9/10

I kept reading things like "don't forget your fire extinguer", so I always kept it with Claire, and now I'm playing Chris and can't acess it lol
P.D: Guys, at the end, you still can get the magnum, you play as a Claire one more time and can put back the extinguisher in the box for Chris to pick it up later.

I played CODE: Veronica sometime around 2003/2004, but going into a recent replay I realized something strange: I basically remembered nothing about it.
I had always thought I had only dabbled briefly, but my memory card said I finished the entire game! The only thing I clearly remembered was the tyrant boss on the plane!
Coming back to it now, I was surprised by how much it feels like a game caught between eras. It has the classic Resident Evil structure, but it also feels like Capcom was already moving toward something different. And it most notably had a different atmosphere than the pre-rendered games, with the more sprawling design making it feel less like the tightly constructed puzzle-box experiences of the earlier games.
I enjoyed a lot about it but I also found myself wondering if it lacks the RE identity I recognize in the earlier games while not having the momentum of the later action-oriented ones.
For people who love CODE: Veronica: what makes it stand out for you? Is it the best "classic" Resident Evil, as reviewers of the era suggested, or is it the awkward bridge between two different versions of the series?

Re2 remake tattoo flash drawn by me with a kicker in the style of a Bert Grimm panther and Leon as a sailor Jerry pin up.

As mentioned in title, I cannot stand this game, I've finished it a couple times for various series marathons and on release and it never clicked for me - here's what I don't enjoy;
-multiple plot threads that never get a follow up
-peak of the gooner design era, Jessica's wetsuit defies physics so that she can get an ass cheek out in a zombie survival situation?
-aiming sucks (not in a fun way) because it was made for the spiritual successor to the Virtual Boy
-Buttfuck and Dipshit or whatever those two guys were called
-it adds techno Atlantis to the lore?
-and then sinks it in a bigger bioterror incident than Raccoon City that never gets mentioned again??
-scanning every single item in every room to get drops just to pad out time
-almost all of the non Jill segments are filler
-all the enemies have to move slowly to accommodate the original 3DS controls so there's very little variety, just differing amounts of wobbly and tanky
-one of the worst final bosses, no build up, boring gimmick fight
-that weird Conan O'Brien guy
-misspelled it's own title on the initial release spine
-no puzzles
Stuff I really liked
-Raid Mode

Seriously, the formula is all there and it's surprising they haven't done it yet. It would be a safer and easier bet than any asymmetric multiplayer mode they could come up with. Just give us our favorite characters and a bunch of weapons, drop us in our favorite locations, and let us fight our favorite enemies. They could even switch it up with different game modes and gameplay modifiers.
So yeah here's hoping that one day capcom decides to make this dream a reality.

Ever since I saw the release trailer of the code veronica remake on summer games fest I was really excited. With Claire Redfield being my favorite gaming character, I was so happy Capcom brought her out the basement.
I didn't get to play the original code veronica, because I got into resident evil maybe a little recently than others, ive only played RE2 and RE8 village. I didn't really have a good chance to play the original code veronica. RE2 is where I fell in love with Claire's character. Especially where it shows how badass, loyal, and how great of a parental figure she was. She's such a great character in my eyes.
That being said the new design of Claire looks absolutely gorgeous, and the game looks absolutely sick. I love the wing on her jacket, looks really cool. 2027 cannot come fast enough. I even already saved enough money to pre order it (when they open for pre orders) and I am just way too hype for the game.

Now that they are on sale and cost the same, I really want to buy either RE5 or RE6 but am getting mixed feelings and want to make sure I won't regret the purchase.... I don't have any friends to play with and want to try playing with strangers. I already played RE5 solo and the AI sucked, and the gameplay sometimes made me rage so bad, but I want to play with other people to see if anything changes... Is it really worth it to get RE5 for the co-op with strangers? Or is RE6 better for co-op? I want to have fun with other people lol... But RE5 is the one I am most interested on. And if anybody would like to play with me once I buy it that would also be uber cool. Thank you for reading!

Roughly 1-2 months ago I started playing RE 2. I went Leon A Claire B. Then I played through RE 4. Last week I did RE3 in 3 days. Now I completed 7. It also went rather quickly as I did it over the course of 4 days. It was very different but I enjoyed the vibes and how it’s kind of scarier. Biggest disappointment which I’m sure is not uncommon is how the flamethrower is absolutely worthless after Marguerite.
Ethan is basically a regular guy. Characters like Leon, Claire, Jill, Chris already have way more experience with guns and survival than the average person. So honestly it’s kind of a panic to navigate the house and go up against Molded with little ammo at times.
I guess I ought to play Not a Hero at the very least. Not sure I’ll do all the other DLC. Honestly I’d rather go straight to village at this point. So it’s been a lot of fun getting deep into this series.
As of now I’d rank the games I played like this
RE4>RE2>RE7>>RE3
Also out of curiosity the game progress bar on PlayStation is at 75% even after the main ending. To get 100 do I have to complete not a hero or do
I need to get ending 2. If it’s the latter I’d rather not cause its a lot of trouble over a noncanon bad ending.
