Lost my best friend because of his wife

Me (27M) and my best friend (27M) have been friends since we were 12 years old. I was the best man at his wedding, I've been listening to him vent for years, and now we are done entirely because of his wife.

6 years ago he got on tinder after his first girlfriend broke up because she was transferring schools out of state. He met a girl who was 27 when he was 21, and the started having sex by the second date. She was pregnant less than a month later. Suddenly she was very religious and pressured him into marriage. Red flags started popping up constantly. This was her 4th engagement, she had the wedding planned out, she constantly spoke poorly of his friends and pressured him to take out loans for the wedding. He didn't have time for us anymore. Despite being homeless and in school and working full time I did all the wedding stuff despite knowing things weren't going great. All I heard was criticism about what I wasn't doing.

Afterwards we didn't see each other much. Only a few times per year. We texted often and still do. Every time we try to meey she made plans, so we had to change. Then she'd be sick or the kid would only for them to be fine once the plans were canceled. She made it clear she didn't like him having friends. Despite this we meet around 3 times a year, only 3 or so hours or she threatens him. Things aren't great at all. He's in massive debt, the house is filled with junk, and he's stuck doing everything on top of 60 hour work weeks at a chemical plant.

Last time we met a few months ago it took two reschedules. The whole crew together for some board games and a movie. She threatened to divorce him if he came, despite not seeing us for 6 months and one of our friends was about to go abroad for a year. He said he doesn't take it seriously because "she breaks every promise" but obviously something changed. I asked about a meet up in a month, he couldn't. Two months. Nope. Four. Nothing. She has completely forbid him from seeing his friends and he just doesn't have the will to push back.

I feel very numb. My friend group has whittled down to two now, and my oldest friend has lost the will to fight to see me. She won, he's miserable and all he can do is apologize to me when I don't think I wanna speak to him anymore

I married the girl four houses down, and even after all these years, I still feel like I don't deserve her.

I just need to get this off my chest because my wife is my entire world, and sometimes I feel ridiculously insecure because of how amazing she is.

We grew up in the same neighborhood, just four houses away from each other. I’ve known her since kindergarten, and she has been my absolute goddess since we started dating when we were around 14 or 15.

Back in high school, kids could be incredibly cruel. My wife was a bigger size back then, and she got bullied heavily for it. When we started dating, people used to mock me and call me a "fat loving man." I didn't care at all. To me, she was the most beautiful girl in the world. Seriously, she looked exactly like a cartoon character I always had a massive crush on growing up. She was perfect then, and she is perfect now.

But because she is just so beautiful, I still get extremely insecure around her. I constantly catch myself thinking that she deserves so much more than me, even though we've built this amazing life together.

We have a little girl now, and our mornings are my favorite part of the day, but it’s kind of a funny dynamic. I always wake up first and make breakfast for us. But my wife gets this hilariously "angry" look on her face when I beat her to it. So, every now and then, I actually pretend to be asleep just so she can have the joy of making breakfast for the family—she looks so incredibly happy when she gets to do it.

The main reason I keep getting up early to cook, though, is our daughter. My little girl absolutely loves my cooking, and seeing her smile is everything to me. I let my wife handle the cooking later in the day anyway, because when she cooks, we get the very healthy lunches hahaha. My daughter definitely prefers my breakfasts!

I guess I just wanted to put this out there. I'm a guy who married his childhood best friend, and I still wake up every day feeling like the luckiest man alive, even if I don't always feel worthy of her.

Lost my baby, an organ, my dignity, and everything else in two months. I don't know how to keep going.

Hi everyone, I’m 21F and I’m typing this at 8:45 AM because I haven't slept a wink and I can't stop crying. I just really need to let this all out.

About two months ago, my ex-boyfriend (26M) and I started having major disagreements because he wanted to get married and I didn't want to live with his parents afterward. We decided it was best to split, but we loved each other so much that we couldn't fully break it off. But I could tell he was getting bitter toward me.

I’m naturally a pretty playful, non-serious girl who just likes to have fun, and I think he initially liked that about me compared to his ex. But soon after our argument, I caught him talking to his ex again. When I confronted him, he wasn't even sorry—he claimed I had done the same thing to him in the past (which wasn't true, I just had male friends, but I cut everyone off for him anyway). I couldn't take it, so I officially ended things in early June.

Then on June 18th, I found out I was pregnant. By that point, he was already officially back together with his ex.

What followed was a total nightmare. After endless blood tests (pricked almost a 50 times) and ultrasounds (6?) , it turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy, which my doctor said was life-threatening. I tried the medical treatment first and spent 4 days in the hospital dealing with awful side effects—pain, bleeding, ulcers, extreme fatigue, and severe gas pain. When that failed, I had to be rushed into surgery (another 3d at hospital. They had to remove my fallopian tube, and the doctor told me my remaining tube doesn't look great either, meaning this could happen to me again in the future.

My ex actually stayed by my side through the whole medical emergency and helped out financially, which I was grateful for, even though he was insensitive at times. But because everything happened so fast, I never even got the chance to process or grieve losing my baby. I just bottled everything up.

Fast forward to a few days ago. Going through all that trauma together brought us close again, even though we tried to keep boundaries because of his new girlfriend. But I’d be lying if I said I didn't still love him deeply. I couldn't move on like he did. So in a moment of total vulnerability, I asked him what we were, told him I loved him, and begged for him back. He said no.
So, I decided I had no choice but to try and heal.

Six days after my surgery, after being trapped in my house and completely consumed by grief, I just wanted to feel normal for two hours. I decided to go watch a movie with a male friend just to get out of the house. When my ex found out, he completely lost it. He started blowing up my phone, angry that I didn't just go straight home, saying I was disrespecting him and choosing another guy over him. when all I was doing was trying to save my own sanity.

He kept me up all night arguing, screaming that I ruined his "happy, peaceful life" with his girlfriend, and that my pregnancy ruined everything for him. Then he turned around and accused me of lying, saying it probably wasn't even his baby (which hurt so badly, because I have literally never been with anyone else). He called me horrible names.
Hearing those words come out of the mouth of the person I loved so deeply, the father of the baby I just lost, absolutely destroyed me.

Now, even though we aren't together and he is actively dating his ex, he told me that if I want any peace, I have to follow his rules:

  1. I can never go to a movie theater again.
  2. I cannot go anywhere with any man.
  3. I am not allowed to go to the gym.
  4. I cannot go to any university or outside events.

I feel so much shame, guilt, and confusion. A rational part of me knows I need to grab whatever tiny scrap of self-respect I have left and run away from him forever. But another part of me feels so broken and traumatized that I find myself wanting to apologize and accept his crazy demands, just to stop the pain even though I know going to a movie wasn't wrong.
I lost my baby, a part of my physical body, and my self-worth all in eight weeks. I feel so utterly humiliated and defeated, and I don't know how to move forward from here.

Edit:- thank you for all your kind comments support and encouragement, I’ve cut ties with him and will be seeking professional help. Again thank you❤️

We ruined our 8 year friendship in a single afternoon

My best friend Sarah and I were inseparable since 11.Everyone assumed we were a couple, but we were genuinely jus best friends. Her parents were extremely strict, but because they trusted me, we were allowed to hang out alone.

When we were 18, I took a break from our friendship because I needed some space for personal reasons. We didn't talk for months. During that time, Sarah got really sick and spent few days in the hospital.she told her friends not to tell me, but one of them accidentally brought it up. So I bought her favourite stuff and went straight to her house.

When she opened the door, she pulled me straight to her room. We were yapping like before. But then she told me that everytime someone visited her in the hospital, she hoped it was me. She started hitting me with a pillow while crying. I pulled her into a hug and gave her a quick kiss on cheek.

Something happened. One thing led to another and we started kissing and touching. Then her mom knocked on the door and invited to lunch. We stopped immediately. Lunch was awkward and I left right after.

We never talked about it. Over the next few weeks at group hangouts, vibe was totally off. She became distant and eventually started ignoring me. I tried to fix things, but she kept pushing me away, so I gave up and we went silent.

Months later on my birthday, she texted me and she confessed that around that time, another friend had tried to force a kiss on her after she rejected him, which freaked her out and made her pull away for all guys.

When I brought up what happened in her room, she said " it was you. I don't care"

Yet she insisted she had no feelings for me. Even though we both knew that wasn't true. She then asked, can you at least just be my friend?

Looking at everything that had changed, I told her no, wish her well and cut all ties.

It's been few years , but every single year on my birthday, she still texts me a birthday wish from one of her friends' phones.

I wanted to do something nice, the kids think its for content

Something happened on Saturday night that I haven't been able to shake off.

I (32M) went out clubbing with 3 friends for the first time in 2 years. We headed to a new spot in town and drank a bit too much. At around 2AM, one of my friends was bent over a trash can puking his guts out, while the other two stayed with him to make sure he was alright but they were kinda smashed themselves as well.

I was only slightly tipsy and hungry, so I walked over to a taco truck parked outside the club. There were four or five college students hanging out nearby, and suddenly feeling generous, I decided to buy tacos for everyone. We ended up having a great conversation about the new club, the current mayor, and gossip, etc.

While talking, I noticed how hyper-aware they were. They kept glancing left and right. When I asked what they were looking for, one of them asked, "Where's the camera? You're doing this for content, right?"

I laughed and told them I was just a guy having a good night, I'm not an influencer. They nodded politely, but they still seemed on edge, half-expecting a camera to pop out from around the corner.

After my friend was done shooting rainbows out his mouth, we all called for Uber home. But after I got home, I didn't sleep for a while because that conversation kept replaying in my head over and over. It’s really sad that the younger generations have grown up in a world where genuine kindness feels so rare, they automatically assume it’s for content. For the first time in my life, I understood what my Gen-X dad meant when he said "I pity your generation" to me. Our struggles may be different but I genuinely felt that "I pity your generation" that night.

You kids have it rough too.

Step sister brought a guy back to my hotel room

I 16m went on holiday and was sharing a room with my two step sisters who are 16 and 19. I didn’t have a problem with this as I’ve known them since we were very young kids and they are basically sisters. However, on one of the nights my two sisters went out clubbing while I stayed in the hotel to try sleep.
They got back at around 3:45 in the morning and I woke up as soon as they got in. However, I wasn’t fully awake but I was still able to see that there was a guy in the room who was probably about 19/20ish. I still pretended to be asleep and pretended not to see it. However a few minutes later, the 19 year old and the guy went into the bathroom. At first I was like wtf but then I thought maybe they’re just trying to not wake me up as it would be quieter in there. However, I heard the shower go on. My 16 year old sister was not involved in this and was lying in bed on her phone. I said to her “wtf is going on” and she said “idk I don’t know this guy”. Shortly after, I thought at the time I heard moaning coming from the bathroom and I then said to my sister in the room, “this is fucking ridiculous and disgusting” and she said “I agree but I can’t do anything”. I then convinced her to knock on the door to get them to stop. She did knock and I heard my older step sister say “one second” before she walked in and told her I was awake and she needed to leave. Both her and the guy left. I spoke to my younger step sister and she said “ she said they weren’t doing anything sexual”. I then said “but we both heard the noises” and she said “yes I know”. At this point I messaged my dad who was long asleep just saying, “I can’t sleep in this room” at the time I just wanted to get out as I found it disgusting but didn’t know where to go. We then fell asleep and I woke up again what seemed like one or two hours later to hear my older step sister return again.

The following morning I was the first to wake up and my parents asked me how it was sharing a room with them. I kind of inferred something bad happened last night and with the text so they sort of figured it out and then I told them what happened. They were disgusted. About an hour later I got a text message from my older step sister saying she’s really sorry that she brought a guy in but apparently he was helping my younger step sister by carrying up to her room as she had stepped on glass and was hurt. She then said nothing sexual happened to me and she promised that and that the shower sound was on because they were washing sand off their legs. However, both me and my other step sister could’ve sworn that we heard moaning. Anyway I pretended I believed her and we carried on the holiday as normal as my dad said it’s just better to avoid it and believe that that was right to not stir anything.
Anyway I just wanted to get this out idk why

Hate being a woman.

I hate being a woman. I hate my body, my breasts, my face, makeup, dresses, skirts, bras etc. I hate periods, pregnancy, childbirth, thought of being a mother and wife. I hate being only seen as a body and only complimented on my body.

Hate always having to walk on eggshells and keep an eye on my surroundings. I hate everything us women have to suffer with. I hate how no matter what we do, we’re criticized - too feminine, not feminine enough, too emotional, too cold, too loud, too quiet.

I hate how our value is so often measured by beauty, youth, desirability, and what we can do for everyone else. I hate how pain gets normalized and how we’re expected to endure it in silence. I hate how unsafe the world can feel, how we have to think twice about things others never even consider.

I hate how so many dreams get overshadowed by expectations of marriage, motherhood, and roles we may never have wanted. I hate how exhausting it is to constantly fight to be seen as a full human being instead of a body, a stereotype, or a role to fill. I hate carrying anger, sadness, and resentment over something I never even chose.

And you know what, that’s not even the half of it.
And any man that wants to deny this and be self-centered and a little pos can fuck off. Cause I’ve had enough with men.

I hate how the world tries to shrink my entire identity down to what my body can provide for others. I am a full human being, not a decoration or someone else's emotional dumping ground. I am tired of pretending this is normal when it feels like a prison.

Found out my dad is expecting twins and has a new wife

She’s 20. I’m 26 and he’s well over 50 and still married to my mother. He told us last week, I guess now that this new wife is expecting he couldn’t hide it anymore. I feel sick and horrified. He was always a shitty father and I never expected much of him but even then, this is just….I mean this girls younger than all 5 of his kids. I always joked that it would happen eventually with how common this is in my culture (unfortunately) but now it’s actually happened and I can’t believe it.

He couldn’t even do a decent job raising his first 5 and now there’s 2 more babies and a young and vulnerable girl that have to deal with him and his bullshit.

I’m tempted to warn her that he‘s an abusive piece of shit while she’s still young enough to leave but I don’t know how to reach her (she’s in another country) and everyone on her side and my dads side of the family support this engagement.

I‘m planning to talk to my friends about this when we meet up in 2 weeks but for now I just needed to get this off my chest.

edit: just to clarify, he left the country we live in for a few months and married her in our native country. It’s not legal where I live but it’s legal and considered a cultural norm in my native country. “going home on a business trip and marrying a second wife” is the immigrant equivalent of “gone to get milk” in my community.

Dating a white man who’s absolutely obsessed with Japan and jpop idols. I’m Chinese. Is this doomed? Is his type a Japanese lady? He visits Japan 3-10 times a year.

Upvotes

I (31F) went on 2 dates over about 2 months with a guy (31M), and I can’t stop thinking about something that bothered me.

He’s an engineer, and his biggest passion is Japan. I wish I’d known this before I met him because nothing on his Hinge profile mentioned he’s absolutely obsessed. We live on the East Coast, and he gets 30 PTO days a year and uses all of them to go there. He travels to Japan 3-10 times a year (he visited for a week during July 4th weekend, and he’s going back next month for Labor Day weekend), sometimes for a month, sometimes just for a long weekend.

He’s learning Japanese (he video chats with a Japanese lady who tutors him once a week), follows J-pop idols and flies to Japan for their concerts, and lights up anytime Japan comes up in conversation. He wants to talk about nothing but Japan when with me.

I’m Chinese American. I grew up in the U.S., but my family lives in mainland China, so I go back every year and have strong ties to my culture.
The thing is, my family’s history makes my feelings about Japan more complicated. My great-grandmother had extended family in Nanjing during the massacre, so I don’t have the same romanticized view of Japan that he seems to have.

What bothered me wasn’t that he loves Japan. It was that he showed almost no interest in my culture. He never asked about growing up Chinese American, my family, or my trips back to China. The only thing he really asked was what it’s like living in the U.S. given the tension between China and the U.S., which felt more like a geopolitical question than genuine interest in me. I also find it a bit tone deaf that he’s happy to talk up Japan so much to me when Japan’s biggest adversary is China.

Japan and China are completely different countries, and I’m not saying someone who loves Japan has to care about China.
I just couldn’t shake the feeling that his type is probably a Japanese woman, not me even though I’m East Asian. It felt like he’d invested so much time and energy into one culture while having almost no curiosity about mine, even though it’s a huge part of who I am.

He’s asked me to do a “home date” for date 3 and I’m already wary because for someone who’s really into Asian culture, he’s still imposing Western values while dating.

I saved a stray cat and got fired for it

I was walking out of my building a couple of weeks ago and watched an injured cat screaming as he was very obviously in a lot pain. His neck had a huge open wound that was still fresh & bleeding. I figured he must’ve been hit by a car for something to leave a wound so deep. Genuinely gasped at the sight of his severed neck. I knew I’d be late taking him to a vet. But after 30 seconds of thinking, I said fuck it. This guy didn’t have time. He could get infected easily with such an open wound. I went to the store nearby and grabbed a fancy (& expensive) cage. He was calm when I approached him and cooperated very nicely. I took a taxi to the nearest vet and he was treated overnight. Unfortunately, because I couldn’t keep a cat home, he had to be neutered and put in a shelter. We found a shelter for him later. Thankfully they accepted him and as a thank you gift I donated to them. The screams in his voice when I first saw him were genuinely heartbreaking. Still, watching him on the floor helplessly pawing at people and screaming for help breaks my heart. I’m rarely ever emotional but these things affect me. I have a picture of him that I took when he was injured. Just undeleted it to remind myself that no job could make me lose my principles. At that time, I sent a text to my colleague informing him I’d be late. But really I wish I didn’t even bother.

Fast forward to yesterday. My boss called me in to his office to tell me he felt disrespected that I was 20 minutes late on a meeting with him and therefore I’m fired. It made me laugh to be honest. I told him to his face I had no regrets showing up late which clearly angered him more. In hindsight, i genuinely wish i was even more offensive to his stupid fucking face. Pete, if you’re reading this, fuck you and fuck your ego. Literally can’t overstate how worthless this job feels to me compared to the cat’s wellbeing.

I’ve started volunteering for an orphan shelter to fill in the time. I spent the past week extremely sick & have heavy treatment of my own to go through. A good time to remind myself that no pursuit has outweighed my strife to be a good human. And I’m glad I don’t regret losing that job.

My mom is the most useless person I've ever known and I am genuinely questioning her purpose in this world

This is just a bit of a tangent to get some things off of my chest. Recently, I have been dealing with a situation with my family. My younger sister (18) is in need of a reconstructive surgery for her leg. Long story short, her leg cannot heal properly on its own because of a defect that was most likely the result of smoking / drinking during pregnancy. Basically she needs to get this surgery now or lose her ability to walk by the time she is 20.

For most people, I would think the choice would be obvious, but my parents are basically shouldering the cost onto my younger sister which would put her at risk of medical debt at such a young age. They value being able to afford their cigarettes, alcohol, and pizza more than their daughter potentially becoming disabled and refuse to pay for the surgery themselves. This has INFURIATED me. According to my sister, my mom has been the one "in charge" of figuring the details out because she is a stay-at-home "mom". Well, she doesn't do anything. She just sits on her ass all day, watches reality TV, and smokes cigarettes.

Despite living across the country, I am the one who is stepping up and helping my sister figure this out so she isn't set even further back before she even has a chance to live. For most of my life, I have been the one parenting my younger siblings because my parents refuse to. I sacrificed so much of my childhood and freedom because I was told that it was my responsibility as their older sibling. I didn't realize how demented this thinking was until later on in my life. I was essentially forced to be a teenage mom by the time I was 12 until I left home at 19. I have four younger siblings who completely depended on me for all aspects of their lives. I had to bathe them, feed them, play with them, help them with their homework, walk them to the bus stop, pick them up from THEIR school after I finished my day at my school, among other things. When they needed something, they came to me. This is why I absolutely dreaded whenever my mom told me she was pregnant. And it is why I really struggle with the concept of having my own children because I feel like I have just recently become an empty-nester.

But this situation made me realize that I am STILL parenting even hundreds of miles away. Why do I need to be the one to do this?

It just makes me think about my entire childhood and how USELESS of a person my mom is. The only thing I remember her doing is sitting on her ass, watching TV, sucking her fucking thumb, and smoking cigarettes. She never went to college, never had a real job. Now she doesn't have a job AT ALL. She doesn't take care of the animals at home. She doesn't take care of the kids (my sister does that now). She doesn't even CLEAN. Their house is so disgusting. I'm just genuinely like, what is your purpose on this Earth? How can someone be so content with literally doing NOTHING all day and accomplishing nothing. Genuinely it disgusts me that I am even related to her.

All she is good for is getting pregnant and giving birth. After that, her job is done. She just takes up space. Maybe this is harsh and I don't want to be the person that is like, "You NEED to contribute to society in some way". But for someone like her, I get so frustrated. Why does she get to just take up space? Am I being too harsh and unreasonable? This scenario makes me feel crazy, like I can't even believe it.

i try not to bring it up to her anymore because it just ends up in a fight but this time she brought it up, then proceeded to walk away sobbing. i feel so disgusting, guilty and ashamed. i don’t want to be like this either and i wish she’d understand that.

edit: thank you for the kindness and support, it means so much to me.

i think i have a cancer

yea thats pretty much. im exhausted all the fucking time to the point i spend most of my time in bed. just the idea of getting up drains me. im itchier than a mfer, got moles the size of dinner plates that have grown rapidly over the last year and “bruises” under my big toes that have been there since january (it’s july now). i have a dermatologist appointment in september but i have no idea if they’ll take me srsly. im 23, i thought i had more time.

its also a real kick in the ovaries to be Black and potentially have skin cancer like dude… i couldn’t be spared this one thing 😭

anyway, i have no idea what to do or how to spend the time between now and my appt. im so tired, my body hurts more and more everyday, i cant bring myself to do anything. everything costs double, triple, quadruple the amount of spoons (energy) it did before. im so tired that my forearms are getting heavy and exhausted holding my phone up to type this.

if u’ve had/have cancer, especially if ur a Black woman, was this how it felt? what do i do? what do i tell the doctor (im in the great us of a 🙄)? how do i deal w this?

i promise im not like a hypochondriac or anything. im just really scared.

My best friend got his first girlfriend now he’s insufferable

Dude got his first somewhat serous girl friend at the age of 21 and now he keeps talking like he’s the love doctor or something. Dude lost his virginity 3 months ago and he keeps talking about how great he is at sex and he keeps trying to give us sex advice.

He keeps saying stuff like “I don’t know dude you just probably don’t know what it’s like to be in love” when I tell him I’m not interested in finding a relationship right now

My last relationship was 4 years long, I’m 24, I have a lot more experience than him. When it comes to relationships and sex etc.

Also they call each other “baby”, not babe, “baby”. Makes me sick

She seems like a nice girl tho.

about to be the loneliest birthday of my life

Ive got about 30 minutes until the clock strikes midnight and its the 22nd and Im turning 24... and Ive never been more alone in my life. Post grad I moved to a new town far away from all friends and Im fully alone in the US (international student). I miss celebrating my birthday with my parents and now its a wierd time where the new job is starting but im so broke due to rent and all living expenses I cannot even go anywhere. So im just chilling in my room right now typing this up and trying to explain my feelings to myself. Idk what I can do tomorrow or even at midnight to make this day feel even a little special. I just wish I wasnt completely alone for thousands of miles. Its as if I can go in a 1k mile radius to anywhere and absolutely no one will recognize me. Kinda crazy to think about. And Ive been extroverted all my life but its usually been in somewhat organized settings i.e highschool, uni, groups etc and rn, since Im not a drinker or bar goer idk how to make friends around this place.

What's the most embarrassing date you've ever been on?

I'll read every single story. 😅

Whether it was a first date disaster, an awkward misunderstanding, getting stood up, or something so embarrassing you still think about it years later... let's hear it.

I just now got my very first permanent job at 31!!

So I just got my very first (well not really first) permanent new job at Whole Foods!!

I HAVE worked for Amazon before as a blue badge and now a white badge but I obviously can’t work for both so I have to quit Amazon now to work at Whole Foods.

This is my first FOREVER PERMANENT JOB!! I AM SO FREAKING EXITED!!!

I’ll be staying here at Whole Foods for as long as I can. I work as a Flex Shopper hoping to add more hours in the future because I would rather work while I’m still young and then when I’m older I could always reapply to SSI if I lose it in the future. Which I probably will anyways if I move out of here on my own without telling anyone.

So I plan to leave here in September 2027! I just want to get out of here ASAP.

My friends’ obsession with body image is making me not want to hang out with them

I (25F) just spent a weekend with my long time friends by the sea and it was mentally exhausting. The only thing they talk about is how fat they look (they have very little body fat and are skinnier than me) and what they eat. They refuse to take pictures when they don’t feel “Instagram worthy” and whenever we eat they go on about how guilty they feel. I’m not judging at all as I myself understand what it’s like to have issues with body image, but this is making me not want to hang out with them for more than a evening because it’s literally what they talk about all the time and it has a bad effect on my mental health as well. I wish I could help them but it’s impossible to change their minds when they have all this self hate inside.

Coming to terms that I'll die single

Even though I (F24) wouldn't consider myself bad looking or a bad person, I've never had a boyfriend and it's making me feel like I'll be alone forever, which I'm still working on fully accepting and live with it. Every time I'm interested in somebody they're just not into me. The people who show interest they only want my body and not really getting to know me. I don't remember the last time I even had a crush on somebody because I know it won't end well for me. The few people who show real interest, I just can't reciprocate the feelings no matter how hard I try. It always makes me sad to hear stories of my friends with their boyfriends or exboyfriends and I never have anything to add to the conversation other than my last failed attempt on dating.

I really just wanna fully accept I'll never have a boyfriend but I still try and look a person I know doesn't exist
