MBTI isn't the most scientific theory of personality, but it still describes individual differences between people fairly accurately. Even ignoring sites like 16 Personalities that just give you a Big 5 test with MBTI labels.
No theory of personality is perfect, there are many ways to describe people, so even if MBTI isn't the best theory out there, having another slightly different way to describe people is useful, right?

last time i did the test, it said i was an INFP :3
im not huge into the MBTI specifics, but i find myself drawn to INTJ types a lot! (At least characters)
there’s just something about how smart/collected they are that i really like! And they also seem like sweet softies deep down. Idk! Lmk which type u like the most and why :3

ENTJ, INTP, INFP, ENFJ, ESTJ, ISFJ, ISFP, and ESTP vs. INTJ, ENTP, INFJ, ENFP, ISTJ, ESFJ, ISTP, and ESFP. Who wins?
(I am referring to literally any contest. Soccer. Jeopardy. Dodgeball. Chess. Staring contest. Thumb war. Pillow fight. Brawl to the death. Tic Tac Toe. Anything.)

To me what other types could supposedly analyze well by seeing connections and all consequences but is not a Ne user and uses symbolism? Part of me woudl say ISTP's. Then xSxJ types, especially one's with Te, ISxJ's and one's with devloepd Ne. To me ISTP's could see how A leads to B leads to F (alhtough they may not see that A leads to B or C or B or C leading to F). THe mystype happens when peopel isnist aht Sensors can't be analytical.

obviously not that rigorous of a discussion as we know that typology doesn’t necessarily imply causation for levels of income, and that the study most likely used mistypes. however i was inclined to think Te users would overall just be the highest earners, but this chart seems to show that any of the four EXTX types have an advantage salary wise, even though EXTP are not Te valuing. is there a reason for this?

The title pretty much sums it up lol.
I just don't trust myself well enough to take a quiz about myself if that makes sense. I'm not 100% sure if I am self aware enough... I've typically resulted an INFP in the past and have developed into INFJ in more recent years.
I've always felt kind of disconnected from the results. On a surface level they were accurate in regards to surface level traits but in the deeper dive I was more like "errr... I dunno so much". I understand you're not supposed to fit your type to a T, but for those results being my type I wasn't too sold that I really connected with them as much as I see other people connect to theirs.
If someone could somehow assess me like a one-on-one discussion that'd be something I'd value/trust more than myself lolol. If anything like that or anything similar exists, let me knowww. I trust this community because I figure the people in it are more educated than I am. I'm just an MBTI enjoyer lol
good day!

Hey my fellow INFP's globally. Yk what, I luv you all. I love your kindness and your ability of going out of your way to help others.
I love your compassion for others.
You guys are as precious as others.
Your emotions are precious, they come directly from you soul.

Oliver Chris is an English actor well-known for his roles in everything from The Office and Green Wing to The Crown and Rivals. I was watching some of these press interviews for Rivals earlier and thought he had an interesting energy and wondered what his type might be. I can have a guess myself too but I wanted to see other opinions.
I know it's tough to type celebrities when we're only ever seeing them at work, and especially based off one interview (I'd be happy to provide more but I know it's a big ask just to ask you to watch one if it's a celebrity you don't know!) But if you could have a guess based on what we're seeing here at least I'd be grateful!
Thanks :)

This is a meme from boo app, I think, I don’t know if the Ni doms are the wrong way round because I’m currently mistyping myself as INFJ but I’m not a hard worker at all, I think that INTJ is more of a hard worker, I know it is stereotypical but..l

I'm creating a plan to leave the digital world and imerse myself in the real one.
I'm an INFP and I love the INTP and ENTP one. So I want to know where I can find them, the places they frequent.
r/mbti • u/Jumpy_Ad3688 • 1d ago
I noticed that people take a lot of interest in INTPs, ENTJs, ENTPs. These are supposed to be rare species lol. I also noticed that INTJs fascinate people in rl, but they get much lesser questions on the losts like “ask INTJ”

I’ve been reading through descriptions of all of the cognitive functions and I keep switching back and forth between which ones I think I display the most. I’ve tried taking online tests to be pointed in the right direction but the percentages between each function is always around 50/50. They all sound the same to me honestly. Like, “you perceive the world using your senses” or “you perceive the world by making connections (but to make those connections you have to perceive the world using your senses)” clearly I’m exaggerating, but that’s pretty much how all of it sounds to me😭 Does anyone have any tips on how to better conceptualize the cognitive functions. I think my main issue is that I’m overthinking.

While I was trying to figure out which of two types I am, I came across the idea that my child function might explain why I never feel intelligent enough.
Even though the people around me constantly tell me I'm smart, I still feel like I'm in a never ending pursuit of knowledge, research, and learning. I have a persistent fear of not knowing enough.
That's what my child function looks like, what does yours look like?

How did you guys got the picture or understanding about the golden pair, I am not so sure where this theory actually come from but on an online people mostly talking on romantic relationships way.
But for myself that I browse searching what I got is Golden pair, silver pair or pair theory more likes between combine 16types per 16 there are some unusual combine and unique that born to be the pair theory but separate the meaning I got.
For example golden pair is talk about pair between their shadow cognitive function that mean to be compliments but in same picture that not necessarily opposite attract directly but more likes opposite admiration such as ENTP-INTJ but the romantic relationship seem more likely to fit with sliver pair that mean by opposite complement so we mostly may see a lot of romantic mentioned about INTJ-ENFP more than INTJ-ENTP(INTJ actual shadow Cognitive function type?)or some similar case such as INFJ/ENTP or ENTJ/INFP but you guys don’t need to take it seriously that mostly my personal observations.
The sliver pair description that make different from golden pair to be more directly with romantic is complementary on each weak cognitive function and help each other on strength that the other could complement similar to how male/female relationships stereotype work likes male view straight on women who gentle that may opposite with them that could make them left the gentleness with the women and women may view analysis on male beside something that opposite from them in stereotype way that she is gentle maybe the tough could make different beside he may be kind inside but his straightness may make her feel safe in the way that her gentle may handle with conflict not very well.
So to me golden pair may more likes partner that mean friendship or your mind homie who really well to watch your back and do the impossible together and sliver pair seem most close with meaning of romantic relationship.
/actually you guys don’t need to be that serious when two people have story with each other romantic feelings could possibly happened in many relationships so even in theory I did heard somewhere too that the golden-pair is actually the pair with weak opposite complement likes for INTJ is ENFP not ENTP the shadow types so for myself I don’t really sure which one is reliable source too.
So feel free to spread your thoughts guy.

ignore your stack!
for me, i guess it goes ti = ne > fi > si > te > ni > fe > se? might not make much sense but in my head it does! can’t really explain how or why with actual words but i thought about it a lot.

I’m an INFP and my idea of heaven is a conference room with a lot of like-minded people where we just gab and gab and gab about our shared interests and have (polite) debates and affirm each other.
All with unlimited coffee and snacks.
And we all retire to our houses (one house per person in Paradise) that look like we’re in the suburbs.
And that’s like our only job: to gab and be nice to each other and expand each others’ minds.
Compensated for with coffee and housing.
How about you guys??

I have an INFP bf and I feel like I clash with him constantly somehow, so I'm wondering if there's any type I would theoretically get along with more naturally, or what is it that makes our personalities clash and I cannot change but need to take a different approach towards it instead?
Not planning on leaving, just curious in general.

I know what the letters say about me. But really the more I sit with it, the more I feel like MBTI can't contain a person as fluid as me. Some days I'm introspective and artistic, other days I'm spontaneous, I have such a rich inner world, how can four letters capture that?
I feel like I'm several types blended into something this here framework just wasn't designed for. Maybe some people fit neatly into a type, and that's fine for them.I'm not trying to be different, I just am.
Was anyone else disappointed in this way?
