Soon visiting Lucknow so kindly suggest your favorite Lucknow Mutton Biryani/Yakhni Gosht Pulao spots ✌️
Heard of Naushijaan, Sakhawat, Alamgir Hotel !! ( Are any of these good? )
Latest reviews let me know if possible, I’ve heard some popular biryani restaurants aren’t serving good biryani anymore and are just riding on their reputation

As someone born and brought up in the city for a good 30 years, I've come to one pretty uncomfortable but honest observation about the city - We are way too overprotective and hypocrite about our tehzeeb culture. Every other day I see comments complaining how 'Ab woh tehzeeb nahi rahi' and blaming their easiest target 'Purvanchalis' and 'new generation' for their cultural erosion. Let's be honest about a few things -
1. Lko has been a Tier 2 city way too long, it never got the IT boom exposure which leads to immigrants and hence influx of different cultures and demography.
2. The stagnancy helped in preserving the beautiful Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and adab that still defines this wonderful city.
3. As people around UP have started earning, of course they will move to a bigger city (in this case Lucknow).
4. People here are unfortunately so hypocrite and insensitive to other cultures, labelling them similar to how we 'UP-Biharis' get labelled in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
5. Either you should be confident of your culture and accept change while trying to blend others within yourself, or just stop cribbing for God's sake bcz the city is not your private yard. Ask yourself and your family not to shift to bigger cities (Delhi, Blr, Pune) and instead stay here as the 'cultural gatekeepers'.
6. Lastly, with social media influencers there is an exaggeration of 'Amma Lucknow aao' and Awadhi culture. Lko is great but not as great as you love to portray it.
Thanks!

Guys, I work remotely and have been doing this for around more than two years now. As exciting as it sounds, it also gets boring just being in your room working. And also makes you really lazy in the long run.
I am looking for cafes, because co-working spaces sound expensive and not so fun. A cafe where I can just walk in with my laptop, order a coffee and a sandwich and just spend hours working at one of the tables with good wifi. Have you all tried this and can you recommend places if you know any?

First time in Lucknow and I'm trying to understand what people actually pay for domestic help locally.
Online guides show wildly different numbers (₹8k vs ₹18k for similar roles). I lived in Delhi and have relatives in Lucknow, but that's only a few data points.
If you're comfortable sharing (anonymous is fine):
- City + locality/colony
- Part-time / full-time / live-in
- Duties (clean, cook, both, childcare)
- Approx monthly pay in 2026
- Optional: did you negotiate up/down vs what neighbors pay?
I'll compile and share a simple summary back here if there's enough interest.
Would a locality-wise salary guide have been useful before you hired?

I was on my way to Chowk from Hussainganj around 11 pm and on the bridge saw a huge crowd gathered.
from what I heard some Thar driver had hit a bike rider but don't know what happened afterwards and haven't seen posts about it online.

Hey, I just installed solar rooftop on-grid and although I had an old 2017 Smart meter, the dept said they cannot configure it to net-meter and they need to change it with the 'new Smart meters'. They have changed it but I have two primary issues -
1. It's a 2023 manufactured unit. I asked for a newer one and he said ki yahi sab jagah lag rha. (I assume ye unke puran dabbe and they anyhow need to get rid off it)
Anyone who has installed solar, is this smart meter thing normal and is there anything for me to worry about?

Hey everyone, shifting to IET Lucknow for MCA. Need a hygienic, simple homemade tiffin service (less spicy/oil) near Jankipuram/Sitapur Road due to health reasons. Any recommendations?
She's going to prepare for a competitive exam so she won't be able to join a regular university.
So is there any university affiliated to central university ( BBAU ) or affiliated to state university ( LU ) which can help me with that.. ?

I saw something about a chess tournament at Palassio. Does anyone have more details? Anyone else thinking of joining?
