This is an update to my yesterday's post..

I just came back home less than an hour ago. This is for the few people who asked me to accept orders for them and for the ones who couldn't order and sent money..

I have distributed and donated everything myself, I'll attach pictures. I've tried to only give the stuff to the ones who have actually been staying the nights there for many days.

A guy sent me a huge box filled with gloves and masks, which we collected it to the medic team there.

As much as it was wholesome, it was exhausting as well.

People loved the lassi drinks we gave them in this humid heat. We distributed dozens of protein bars.We had dozens of biscuits and cookies packs as well, and nobody wanted them, we'll ask them if they want it, and they'll show us the packs they already had, and laugh.

A huge THANKYOU to everyone who took initiative and tried to help. A friend and a guy I met here at reddit helped with the distribution, it wouldn't have been possible without them both.

The roads to the protest site were blocked so we had to carry all the bags and boxes for almost a kilometre.

The people were grateful to receive the stuff and thanked us. We asked them separately if they needed anything else, mostly asked for change of clothes and slippers. We went to karol Bagh and bought around 20 shirts and tees for men and women, and slippers for those who asked, with their given sizes.

So what happened with us today, several times when we were on our way to the protest with all the supplies, we saw the crowd running in our direction and we felt absolutely clueless, we didn't know what to do and we just stood there blank but thankfully nothing happened with us. all three of us came back safely.

Just left JM at 7 PM 22nd July. The way I got there - dropped off by uber to Lazeez Affaire in CP and the walked. You can also take auto. I believe the metro is all shut off. Guys, i want to start by saying HATS OFF TO MY INDIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS. People of all ages standing up against oppression and protesting in a peaceful way. The protest is very well organised. Volunteers are making queues, fanning protesters, passing out water and biscuits, picking io garbage. Everyone is being polite and disciplined. As long as the police stays out of everyone’s way, everyone is peaceful. People are singing, making speeches, and spreading the positive message of freedom. My advice: as long as the police are not there, you are safe. Try not going into the official stage area, as crowds are very thick and it’s tough to manage. I repeat: avoid going into the main protest area, it’s getting too crowded. Stay closer to the main road and you will have enough breathing and moving space. Carry a fan, ORS, hat, scarf, mask. Stay safe out there and take care of yourselves. If you see police, exit. Be kind to everyone there. Pick up your garbage. Support our comrades ♥️

They invited us to his residence, but we categorically declined. We are not going to anyone's house or office. A 'janata darbar' is being held here, and if the ministers want to talk, they should come to the people. The discussion should take place at Jantar Mantar. At the same time, we are reasonable people. If the government is concerned about security at the protest site, we are willing to meet at a neutral venue near Jantar Mantar. We are still waiting to hear back from them.

Hi Guys,

A fellow citizen here who has had the chance of being part of a protest in past.
This is kind of a guideline to protect you and the movement you are part of from unintentional harm.

1. Don't be in the front lines if you or your family can't afford lawyers or doctors, and keep a 10 metre distance away from any policemen or riot control force at any point in time.
2. If you see anyone throwing a stone or harming policemen in any way, run. Run away in the opposite direction of the police and at least 1 km away, even if the police is not responding.
3. If you hear people saying someone is dead, know that it is 99 (almost 100) percent fake.

Now the explanations:

1. Yes, you are revolutionary and you have thousands of people around you to make you feel invincible and righteous, but know that it takes one faulty tear gas shell/sound bomb/pellet (rarely used) to cause you permanent damage to your body. Not only that, sometimes when protesters themselves throw things from the backside, people in front are injured (in fact, I believe 60–70 percent of people injured are like this only). Also, if you are in front, there is a very good chance you get caught by police, and if not, then your photo.
2. Any protest is not only joined by good people of the country; it is also joined by the "tapori" and "awara" of your locality. Sometimes (or rather every time), what happens is when police fire tear gas or put barricades to stop any rally (like Jantar Mantar to Parliament), these tapori, when they see a crowd of 1000 people behind themselves, start throwing stones or tear gas back towards the police, and then police respond with a lathi charge (because now they are officially attacked). And here comes the not-so-fun part: when police catch you in a non-violent protest, you will be released in hours, but in these types of cases, when you are caught from the pocket of people involved in violence, it doesn't matter whether you did anything or not—police will beat the shit out of you or, worse, file an FIR that can stay with you for life.

But the main reason I am telling you to run away from these stone pelters is that isolating them is the only way to stop them. If you try to tell them to stop, they won't listen (why?? rage, rumour, invisibility of the crowd, don't know).

1. Rumour, the most dangerous thing that may have killed more people than the plagues combined. Remember I told you someone threw a stone at police? Know why he did it? Well, he heard someone was killed by police. Yes, in protests people get beaten by police, tear gas is thrown, due to which many go unconscious, which some people think means they are dead, and hence the rumour.

Now, don't see this as fear mongering. It's completely safe to go to a protest. It's the only way to keep the power balance between the "small folk" of a country and the governing body.

It has taken thousands of years of humanity to get here; otherwise, even in good "Rhaenyra" rule in King's Landing, people are killed for merely writing things on walls.

And remember one thing: 1 lakh people outside Parliament doesn't affect Modi as much as the whiff of 100 people shifting their vote to Rahul Gandhi, Kejriwal, etc.

She being the CM of Delhi, where the fuck is she.

in the morning before i left my house, i got a lot of DMs from people either asking about the routes and the situation on the ground or offering to donate things for the protest.

i replied to most of them saying they could donate anything that might be useful at the site, and that if there was anything specific we needed, i'd contact them directly from the protest site.

all of them offered to donate, and that's highly appreciated because it's people like them who are making all of this possible by supporting the cause.

in the morning, u/_jarib asked me to buy some Real juice tetrapacks and donate them. he couldn't order them through blinkit or anything himself because the service was unavailable due to high demand. so i bought the juice packs from a local shop near my house, travelled with them to the protest site, and donated them there.

while i was in the metro i saw the tweet that DMRC has shut down 16 stations in total. No exits allowed.

But thankfully there was one station, the New Delhi Metro Station which came in clutch due to being a major connectivity station as it connects to the indian railways New Delhi Railway Station. so ig that's why they couldn't shut it down.

it was 2kms away from thr jantar mantar protest site so i tried rapido but no luck so i walker in the scorching heat carrying the juice box.

i reached after 30-40mins and as soon as i entered around 12–12:30 pm, it was hella crowded. way more crowded than i expected it to be for just noon.

slogans everywhere, people openly criticising modi and dharmendra pradhan and demanding his resignation, and so many posters of Bhagat Singh. the frustration was visible and audible everywhere. people from all kinds of backgrounds had gathered for the same reason.

i joined the crowd and, after donating the juice packs, started shouting slogans with everyone else. it felt so good. that feeling is honestly hard to explain when thousands of people are demanding the same thing with the same emotions and the same sense of urgency. shouting together and asking for accountability.

after a while, i saw a volunteer cleaning up trash while wearing gloves, a mask, and carrying a trash bag. so i asked her how i could volunteer too.

she told me i could just go to the medical camp, collect the supplies, and start cleaning. as simple as that.

so i went there, grabbed the stuff, and spent about an hour cleaning. i filled three black trash bags before finally feeling exhausted and taking a break. i lay down on the ground near the medical camp with some other people to rest because the heat was absolutely killing me. i drank multiple electrolyte tetrapacks, had a few digestive biscuits, and kept fanning myself with a hand fan to cool down.

pro tip: come to a protest with a full stomach. don't do what i did lol.

and definitely don't do what i'm about to say next.

once i cooled down and felt better, i started helping out at the medical camp without anyone asking me to and without me asking for permission. i helped a few people who came in with bruises, scratches, and minor wounds.

later i realised there was an insane amount of medical stuff behind the tables. everything had to be sorted, packed into boxes, and moved around. ORS supplies in one box, dressing materials in another, and these weren't small boxes either. they were huge cartons.

it was honestly crazy seeing how much people were donating. the supplies were literally overflowing.

so i messaged u/Affectionate_Drink50 and told her that we desperately needed storage shelves because managing everything was becoming really difficult.

without a second thought, she started sending me pictures and asking if she should order them. the internet was terrible there, so we were going back and forth trying to communicate.

eventually i confirmed it, sent her my name and number, and she called me. she explained everything very nicely and politely and then sent me the tracking link.

i left the main protest site and headed towards the road, only to realise the crowd had easily tripled since i arrived.

there were people everywhere.

the roads were completely covered with people, and cars and scooters were barely crawling through the crowd.

thankfully i managed to coordinate with the delivery driver, and we eventually found each other in the chaos. he handed over the shelves, still unassembled and packed in large boxes.

i carried them back to the medical camp and everyone got excited seeing them arrive.

before assembling the shelves though, we really needed to organise everything first.

and trust me, it looked like a truck had been unloaded upside down.

so me and the rest of the medical team spent hours sorting and segregating supplies. by the time we finished, it was already night, and we decided we'd assemble the shelves tomorrow since everyone was planning to leave after dinner.

there was also some music playing in the background throughout the day. it felt a bit weird at first, but then i thought, why not? people needed something to lift their spirits. and soon enough the slogans became even louder.

after the sorting was done, we realised we had a huge amount of sanitary pads.

so me and my volunteers (friends now) decided to distribute them among people while heading towards the exit. by the time we reached the end, we'd managed to give away the entire pile.

kudos to one volunteer in particular, who is only 15 years old and was helping me and another volunteer throughout the distribution (both of us are 21).

after that, we walked back to rajiv chowk metro station, which had reopened, and headed our separate ways.

no violence as such today, and i'm genuinely proud of that.

the students are still fighting, still standing their ground, and still loud as ever.

and i hope this brings something good for all of us and justice for the 21 lives lost because of this bs education system.

ps: you can actually come alone, only if you arrive early before 10 because after that police starts shutting down things. and ss long as you stay within the protest premises, its very safe. don't let that stop you, come alone if you cant find anyone because you'll find someone here for sure. A LOT of friendly people.

I am surprised that people are shocked by the attack on students.

The BJP and Delhi Police were always like this. They attacked Left students at JNU. Delhi Police protected the assaulters instead of the students and let those criminals roam free.

They brutally assaulted students and Muslims protesting against the CAA in 2020. They helped the BJP carry out a pogrom in East Delhi using the same playbook. They brutally assaulted students in Jamia. CCTV cameras, vehicles, and libraries were destroyed. In UP, the BJP-controlled police even shot protesters on sight. Many people, mostly Muslims, have been jailed under draconian laws without any trial for the last six years, while BJP leaders who gave violent, riot-provoking speeches on camera in the presence of Delhi Police are now ministers.

During the same pogrom Delhi Police beat one Muslim to death, and while he was dying, they forced him to sing the national anthem. The video was shared on social media, yet Delhi Police is still unable to find the officer who murdered him.

They attacked farmers in 2021.

Not to forget how Kashmiris were subjected to brutal pellet guns that blinded hundreds. Manipuris have faced extreme brutality, with the police siding with BJP-backed groups.

Tribals were shot by the police and branded as Naxalites simply for protesting against the occupation of their land by big companies.

I sympathize with the protesters. In fact, I have joined them at Jantar Mantar. What surprises me is that people are reacting to the treatment of students by Delhi Police as if it is something new.

No, it isn't. They were always like this. An injustice to one is an injustice to all. Oppressors become emboldened when they are allowed to do horrible things to one group. Eventually, they can and will turn against other groups as well.

I'll end this rant by repeating these lines from the legendary poet Rahat Indori:

I follow a few people who have been involved in this protest from the very beginning and have been going there every day. The videos that have surfaced are very limited, and almost all of them are from outside Jantar Mantar because entry inside was blocked that day.

The people who were inside couldn't even record videos because they were beaten very badly. In a situation like that, recording wasn't really possible. Some people even had their phones broken.

One person was beaten so severely that they couldn't even open their eyes. 🥺 I wish all of it had been recorded so people could see how brutal the police were and hear the disgusting abuse they directed at the girls.

Instead of carrying a phone, I guess people should wear a spy camera so everything gets recorded.

I'm also extremely angry because even many elderly women were beaten very badly.

And my gut feeling is that the BJP might do something even worse within the next 24 hours, so please stay safe and don't go alone. Please don't take elderly people with you.

Hi everyone, first of all thank you so much for your generosity to send foods and water bottles. Really you all are so good and lovely people.

But i seriously request not to send food now there is already enough and abundant food available. And even some food is getting wasted. I have seen it from my own eyes, people are not taking food, I was trying to distribute but they all are already full.
