Today’s the day. I’ve decided to announce that for the past 10 months I’ve been pouring everything I have into a passion project.

It’s an anime / graphic novel series built on the famous public domain characters every generation grew up with — flipped completely on their head. Season 1 (which is pretty much complete) is Winnie-the-Pooh reimagined as a Kill Bill–style revenge bloodbath.

The Kickstarter drops soon, and it’s stacked — hoodies, tees, and one-of-one original pieces from a few legendary artists. I’ve even got some well-known supporters who’ve already helped me out a ton along the way.

Here’s all I ask: you don’t have to buy a thing. Just share it. Send it to everyone you know. A Kickstarter lives or dies in its first week, and the people closest to me sharing it is what makes or breaks this. 🍯🐻⚔️🩸

Ive recently gotten into the daredevil fandom and seeing the lack of an animated show ive decided to step up. As an animator myself this shouldnt be hard, right? well since its 3d i need to learn blender. Ive found meshes, models, everything i need but rigging it is a PITA. So please support me on my journey to animating my new favorite superhero by telling me what scenes i should animate and possibly help me too! Daredevil: The Animated Series

it dosent really have a 90's theme to it, but im planning on giving it my own style. Please give me any tips you have as it could help me go one step further on doing something for myself and the daredevil fandom. I dont care if ill be monetized over this i just wanna make a daredevil series.

After being inspired by incredible movements like this, and learning to use csp, I thought "I don't know how to make things look conventionally good or readable, so I'm going to make the best feeling movements i can and capture a pure vibe in the same way these guys can, and if i can pull it off, the readability won't matter to people."

When I've asked people before if my art makes them happy, one thing I've been told is that it isn't readable. I could've tried to argue with them that that isn't the point, and that would've been pointless because the animation should've been able to prove my point for me. There have been times when I gave into haste and started rendering something before I thought the movements made me feel anything, that's what I know i should improve on.

On an older post, I got this one comment by u/Kilazur I think about a lot

"Layman here, I barely know anything about animation or show production. But you focus your question on the "feeling" a viewer may get. The 2nd element in your submission (the pencil-drawn combo attack gif) FEELS really good to watch. It has impact and strength, and the timing is impeccable. But I don't understand half of what's happening. Is that a bad thing? I don't know. In my mind, if a fight scene feels super nice (and I mean SUPER NICE) to watch, it's not a problem. When I watch such a scene in a show or an anime for example, I usually go back and play it again, multiple times. If most viewers are like me, this works in your favor, because rewatching such scenes helps understanding them."

I'm beginning to maybe think that I'm in a very small minority of people who feel this way, and if I want to find success, I'll have to pivot my style slightly, which is what I've already been doing and it's been fun. I thought this stuff was interesting lol.
