It’s a momentous occasion being back in the park tonight. The smoke will be shining, the army will be singing, and the goals will be flowing. Unfortunately, the return comes at a time when the blazers’ future in Portland could not be more at risk, all because of a greedy fuck by the name of Tom Dundon.

If you’ve been following anything having to do with the blazers, chances are you already hate him. If not, you still might be aware of his schemes to bleed the Blazers dry. So why don’t we show him how we really feel tonight after the anthem?

This is a podcast Cifuentes did five years ago in Norway. It starts in Norwegian, then quickly switches to English. It's basically an hour and a half of Cifuentes talking about how he wants his teams to play. The thing that has me most excited is that he never uses words like "mentality" or "fight" or "courage" or "intensity." Instead -- and brace yourself for this -- he talks about tactics. He talks about how his team would play in this situation, how they'd play in another situation, so on and so forth.

After two years of a coach whose only strategy was "play harder," we're now getting a guy with an actual plan. Multiple plans, to be honest. And he talks about how these plans need to be altered, depending on the players you've got. It's just incredibly refreshing and makes me so excited for what's coming. I feel like we might have one of those coaches who come in and completely change the entire culture of the team.

Like I said, the podcast is an hour and a half long, so I'll understand if you don't want to listen, but if you DO listen, you might be as stoked as I am.

It was great seeing us dominate Seattle this weekend but I was thinking earlier about if we would see the same result with velde in. I’m not a Velde hater but I’ve been disappointed with his decision making in the final third. Is that just a result of not having good direction from the coach? Does the new system Cassidy laid out work better with him? He’s a great player so I’m hoping he adapts well to the new system but i was curious what other people thought about it

Also as a side note it was great to see our other DP DDC thrive this past weekend in the new style. He worked really well as a facilitator

Looks like there’s a strong chance of rain, lightning, and thunder from 6:30ish to 8:30ish tomorrow. Anyone know when or if they’ll delay kickoff or postpone the game?

At the 27:00 minute of today's Soccerwise podcast, Tom Bogert says the reason Thomas Christiansen re-signed with Panama is because the Timbers didn't hire him. According to Bogert, Christiansen wanted to come here, but the Timbers wanted Cifuentas.

Neville's vacant position has been filled. His replacement can lead the Timbers to glory.

I was gifted an authentic Clive kit jersey a few years ago for Christmas, it has a “Timbers” print in the front and no number or name print.
Last year I wore it through the airport repping on a trip to see family, and caught the smallest fabric fringe on the mid-low right belly side.
I have 1 or 2 club patches laying around.
I’m just looking for some opinions on some options:

Is it worth the degradation of the jersey to cover the fringe with a patch instead of paying for someone to stich it back together. I might have a friend that could do it for on a discount.
I was curious if anyone’s tattooed their kit or if the majority believes it’s a sin?
Im open to ideas for name and number print to add as well, I’m a little bit Mora fan of older under dog players or deep cut players, but im a little obsessed with Surman haha.

I found this Masterclass video when poking around to learn more about the Timbers new head coach. Seems like he has some preference for a 4-3-3, flexibility to bend the system to the players, and a capacity to identify and articulate weaknesses of the opponent.
