Vent How do you cope?

Hi all, first time poster here.

Diagnosed with PCOS this year after coming off HBC and TTC.

Feeling incredibly lonely and down about the whole situation at the moment and as much as everyone says PCOS doesn't mean you can't concieve it definetly makes it alot harder for those of us who have irregular cycles/anovulatory cycles.

None of my friends or family have gone through this so it's a very lonely space to be in, at an age where everyone is getting pregnant, close friend is pregnant with 2nd and other friends is due this week.

I've started to accept that our journey to have children is going to look alot different than some people but I'm still struggling to not feel like it's a personal failure of mine or that this is the universe telling me I shouldn't be a parent, even though logically I know that's not true as plenty of terrible people have kids!

Everything in terms of fertility appointments takes so long and I feel so frustrated and angry by the process, made worse by the NHS here in the UK having ridiculous rules around funding.

I don't know what I'm looking for here other than maybe to feel less alone and like this is a runt that everyone experiences in this journey!

Advice Needed How do you cope with TTC and the disappointment when it doesn’t happen?

My partner and I have been trying to conceive for 9 months, with monitored cycle and letrozole since march because of my PCOS that was diagnosticated a long time ago. I know it isn’t that long, but I can feel it starting to take a toll on my mental health. I was wondering how those of you who’ve been on this journey longer cope with it, and whether you have any advice.

I feel like my whole life revolves around TTC. During the TWW, I can’t stop symptom spotting or searching Reddit to see if anyone else has the same symptoms as me, only for each month to end in another negative test. Then, as soon as a new cycle starts, I’m back to tracking ovulation. I try not to obsess over it, but I just can’t seem to stop.

Lately, several people around me have announced their pregnancies. I’m genuinely happy for them, but at the same time, it feels like everything in my life keeps reminding me of infertility. My partner is full of hope, but for some reasons I am not (maybe to protect myself…).

I’m taking care of my relationship, and we’re still living our lives as normally as possible. The only thing that’s become difficult is planning trips far in advance, because we always end up thinking, “What if I’m pregnant by then?”

I’m lucky to have a wonderful family and friends. I have a full life, I exercise regularly, and I keep busy, but TTC is still on my mind all the time.

Do you have any advice on how to get through this without feeling so overwhelmed? What has helped you cope?

I’m considering starting a new hobby or activity in September, but I’m not sure whether it would really help. My fertility clinic also offers specialized counseling, but I already have so many medical appointments that part of me just wants something that helps me think about anything other than TTC.

Advice Needed ttc ☀️

Hi everyone!

I’m new here and wanted to share my journey and ask for some tips or anything at all.

My husband and I met with my OBGYN to discuss getting pregnant since I have PCOS. I’m a 26yo female and hoping to have my spring baby. They started me on Metformin 500mg and I didn’t even make it 2.5 weeks before having be removed off it since the side effects have been absolutely debilitating. Working as an inflight crew member I couldn’t even function so I was able to take medical leave to deal with all my appts for this. I was then put on Theralogix Onositol, continuing my prenatals and a thyroid medication (NP Thyroid) since my thyroid is all out of whack.

I just met with the dr again yesterday and they ran another set of blood work and prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone 10mg,Letrozole 2.5mg and a new thyroid medication (levrothyroxine 75mg).

Is there anyone that can share their experience undergoing these meds and if anyone got pregnant? Looking for anything and everything yall have to suggest here. No one in my immediate family has dealt with infertility and it’s hard to get them to understand the struggles. 💖

Seeking Success OBGYN suggested GLP1

Upvotes

We’ve been TTC for 10 months after a devastating stillbirth last year. We’ve been working with a fertility clinic doing letrozole cycles, letrozole with IUI cycles and follistim with IUI cycles. After 5 failed cycles, they are suggesting we move to IVF.

I had a new patient consult with a new obgyn who immediately diagnosed me with PCOS (I have a lot of the classic markers and I’m frustrated because I’ve asked this of many doctors in the past and have been gaslit). He said he was not shocked fertility meds and treatment aren’t working - high AMH with tons of follicles but rarely maturing right or ovulating.

He suggested I take a break from IUI/IVF treatment and try a GLP1 to reset my metabolic system. He said once I’m on it for 4-6 months, he’s 80% confident I’ll get pregnant on my own.

I’m torn between listening to him and taking a pause in fertility treatments and doing GLP1 or proceeding with IVF.

Seeking Success How to not lose your mind!

Hello!

First time posting on here but I just wanted to surround myself with like minded people to stop myself going insane.

I stupidly told one of my close friends we were ttc at the same time they were and I’ve just found out she conceived on their first month of trying whereas I’m on month three (and probably out this month too as negative 11DPO). My husbands sister is also pregnant and I think he was hoping that we’d be pregnant at similar times to have cousins close in age which is another pressure!

I had a diagnosis of lean PCOS and possibly mild adenomyosis the end of last year and it’s just made me realise that our journey is probably going to be very different to all my friends. Which is obviously okay, but makes me quite wary of sharing anything with friends and family going forward so avoid comparing things.

I didn’t realise how hard finding out she got pregnant first time would hit me and my husband thinks I’m being silly given we’ve not really been trying long ourselves (which I realise too). I think it’s just the fear that it may not happen for us or might be quite a long stressful journey that’s making me feel quite down.

Anyway sorry for the long winded waffle and if anyone has any success stories of pcos/adenomyosis to pick me up I’d be ever so thankful! Or any advice on how to not lose your mind in the ttc process!

Has anyone gained weight on letrozole?

Upvotes

I did 5 days of letrozole, then another 5 days at a higher and I’ve already ovulated. Since then, I’ve noticed the scale going up a bit, and I’m trying to figure out if it could be related to the medication/hormonal changes or if it’s more likely just from eating more recently.

If you did, when did you notice it? Did you feel like you gained weight during the 5 days you were taking it, or did it happen later after finishing the medication/around ovulation?

I’m trying to figure out if my recent weight gain is related to letrozole or just because I’ve been eating more lol

Wanting to hear your experience!!

Good afternoon,
I’m looking for your experience on monitored cycles, we’ve been ttc for 2 years now with no luck I was diagnosed with pcos but our fertility dr said everything came back normal for both me and my husband, we’re starting monitored cycles with letrozole, trigger shot, and progesterone. Hoping to hear your experience with this or similar and how successful or unsuccessful it was.

Sad Disappointed with no positive ovulation with letrozole

Today is CD 16. I took letrozole 5mg day 5-9. My OPK went to 0.5 on day 13 and its back to 0.1 now. I am so frustrated that its not happening with this dose as well. My spotting stopped on day 15, so I had hoped to have a mature follicle to produce estrogen that stopped spotting. There is no scheduled usg to say whay is exactly happening but i have blood draw on day 23.
How many days after last letrozole did you ovulate?

Advice Needed Want to start TTC & coming off BC

My husband and I want to start trying to conceive. I have been on birth control since I was 15 (I am now 30) for PCOS and I am obviously anxious of how my body will react. It’s been so long since my body hasn’t been on the pill!

Was anyone else also on birth control nearly half their life and then went off to try to conceive? Other meds I’m on include Spironolactone, Mounjaro and Jardiance and I will have to stop those soon too. I know everyone is different but wondering if there’s anyone out there with a similar situation or combo of meds as me.

Advice Needed Taking progesterone and heavy bleeding

Hi everyone. I recently saw my gyncologist because I have been bleeding like 4 weeks at a time with about a week or so break in between "cycles". I previously met with him to talk about these anovulatory cycles, and I tried taking wegovy for about 7 months and lost 10% of my body weight like he recommended. My periods honestly got worse over that time and I'm still not ovulating. He recommended me taking progesterone to help with the heavy bleeding, and since I'm ttc we were going to do a cycle of letrozole as well. I asked him if I needed to wait until my next break in anovulatory bleeding to start the progesterone and he said no that it should stop and bleeding should start again, at which that time I should call him. I'm now on day 6 of progesterone and my anovulatory period has not stopped, and if anything has only gotten heavier. Has anyone else experienced this and should I be worried? I'm concerned im going to miss "day 1" to call my doctor so I can progress with letrozole. Thanks for any advice.

Advice Needed Glp1 and ttc

Im curious has anyone used a glp1 medication and gotten pregnant? How many months were you on the medication? Did you notice a change in your body ie signs of a normal cycle etc? How much weight did you lose what weight did you conceive at? How long after stopping did you conceive? What conditions are affecting your fertility?

If you were tracking lh still did you notice a clear shift in your cycle becoming consistent? When did you start having positive lh tests?

I have pcos and hypothyroidism i take my thyroid meds and starts a glp1 recently. I just tracked my first positive lh test but I believe it is too soon for this to be affected by the medication. I still track because I am trying to find a pattern and signs of ovulation.

Im aware no babies while on a glp1 or for 2 months after.

Seeking Success PCOS regular cycle TTC looking for advice

I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow to discuss options.

Has anyone had regular periods 24-31 days with pcos? What did they give you to help you TTC?

We have been TTC for 1+ year since our MMC, I’m willing to try whatever the consultant recommends, I’m just curious what other people went on and did it work?

Advice Needed Can duphaston (oral progesteron) raise bbt?

Hi everyone! I started taking duphaston 2x per day on Monday on the request for my doctor to get my period or support pregnancy if it happend. Last week I had some strange spotting (which I never had and called him and the nurse told me it was normal) but no bbt spike until today (i was lazy and skipped yesterday 🤦🏻‍♀️). In some articals it says duphaston cannot raise bbt, and some say it can, so I was wondering if this rise of temperature is a sign I ovulated or no! I will post my bbt chart in the comments!

Advice Needed High Inflammation with insulin resistance and PCOS

Hi All, this is going to be a long read but I really appreciate any advice from this community which has been helpful since last couple of months.

I have been TTC since May 2025 and had a chemical pregnancy in January 2026. I noticed irregularities in my ovulation being delayed leading to delayed cycles. My fertility clinic has diagnosed me with PCOS although missed the reason as to what is causing that.

Around may 2026 through my own laboratory tests I realized my hs-CRP is high around 6.4mg/l with homa IR index of 5.9 ultimately diagnosing me with being Insulin resistant.

Starting from June 1st, with the specialist nutritionist I started a healthy diet aligning with my cycles to reduce my inflammation, insulin resistance. Since the diet started I lost 4.2kgs weight since I started my diet partially also due to Metformin 1500mg which I have been on since June 15.

Yesterday I got another blood work done and noticed my insulin resistance came down to 2.4 reducing significantly, but surprisingly my inflammation Hs-CRP has further increased to 7.3mg/l (I expected it would slightly reduce due to reduced insulin resistance)

In Oct 2025 I started with levothyroxine 25 µg as my TSH was little above normal (4.49mU/l). In February 2026 this came down further below 1.60mU/l but yesterday test results show my TSH jump to 3.64mU/l essentially doubling and free t3 as of yesterday is 3.13ng/l and free t4 is 1.60ng/l

I am really confused why my thyroid increased despite taking medication and is that the sole reason for my inflammation? Or can it be anything else?

I have noticed I don't have any egg white cervical mucus during my ovulation and sometimes it is none dry unless I dig it with my finger. For sex we cannot proceed further unless we use a lubricant.

I have an appointment with my reproductive endocrinologist in 2 weeks but I'm looking for some experience or answers here to guide me into a right path. I'm gonna bring up the question of silent endometriosis and ask if it's worth checking but otherwise I don't have painful periods or pain while intercourse situation.

One thing is I'm constantly tired and can literally sleep all day. I observed that during night time I feel warm despite the weather being cold whereas during daytime I can sleep with a thick blanket, windows closed but the same thing during night time is impossible. I sometimes even sweat during my sleep.

Any pointers from anyone is highly helpful. I'm take metformin, prenatals, vitamin d, vitamin B12, coq10, NAC

Thank you!

Need advice after metformin messed up wife's cycle

So we are 37m 36f, trying since last 6 months. Our family doc prescribed her metformin twice daily & she has been taking it since last 1 month. She has no diabetes or PCOS, doc gave it saying it helps chances of conceiving. Now, she usually has been getting her periods on 8-11 of a month for last few months, this month she still hasnt got her period (its 22nd now) & preg test is negative. So the metformin has messed up her period dates & by extension, Im not able to know the ovulation dates which is usually 25-27 of a month for her.

Has anyone got any experience on advice on this?

Wtf is my doctor talking about

PCOS and miscarriage rates

Background: I was on the pill for about 10 years and then went off 3 years ago when we started trying to conceive. After a bit of being off the pill, my periods became irregular and I was diagnosed with PMOS. Once I learned more about it, the insulin resistance made a lot of sense to me and tracked with symptoms I had been experiencing, even on the pill. I got treatment and have also been going to a fertility specialist.

Question: After two cycles of timed intercourse with Letrozole, I was able to conceive. But after 6 weeks I miscarried. My understanding is that PMOS increases the chances of miscarriage. However, my doctor said that PMOS does not increase likelihood of miscarriage and that age is actually the cause of what they had previously attributed to PMOS. Does anyone have any idea what study or research she might be referring to here?!? I just want to understand more about why this happened.

Lupron only trigger and Provera after retrieval

Hi all! Anyone else do a Lupron only trigger and told to take Provera post egg retrieval? I have high follicles and estrogen. I keep see mixed info online. Some say Provera will make my period come sooner others said it won’t come until I stop Provera. My clinic said my period is expected within about 7 days of retrieval. I did a mid luteal phase stim start.

If you did Lupron only trigger and took Provera after retrieval, when did your period start?

Advice Needed Elevated LH before Provera, still getting positive ovulation tests on period

My LH and estradiol were elevated a few weeks ago at an appointment with my doctor so I knew my ovulation test would flag a positive. I took ten days of provera and started my cycle three days after taking the last dose. I’m on day 2 of my cycle now and getting ready to start letrozol tomorrow. My doctor wants us to try the meds for three months and then come back for a follow up.
My concern is that I’m still getting positive ovulation predictor tests. The positive line is lighter which is easing nerves some, but still very positive. I’m nervous that I’ll never get a neg so I won’t know when I actually do ovulate. Any similar experiences and tips would be appreciated.

Advice Needed Benched before my first Letrozole/IUI cycle (A1c, TSH, and a vaccine hurdle). Did your RE make you wait 3 months?

Hi everyone,
I’m 28, diagnosed with PCOS, and we are prepping for our first Letrozole + IUI cycle. I just had my Day 3 baseline labs and ultrasound, and while my reproductive hormones look like textbook PCOS and I'm ready to go, a few other hurdles popped up that are going to delay my start date.
I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the waiting periods and would love to hear how your REs and PCPs handled similar numbers.
Here are my Day 3 labs:
FSH: 6.72
LH: 10.86
E2: 47.11
TSH: 3.71
Fasting Glucose: 121
HbA1c: 6.3%
On top of the metabolic numbers, my immunity panel showed I need the Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, which I found out carries a mandatory 1-month benching period. My husband is also getting his SA and bloodwork done by the end of this month.

I am asked to book an appointment with my PCP to address the blood sugar, A1C and to get vaccinated.

For those of you who had similar baseline hurdles:
How long were you benched? Did your clinic strictly make you wait the full 3 months to retest your A1c before letting you start Letrozole, or did they let you proceed sooner if your daily fasting glucose dropped?

Who managed what? Did your PCP handle the Metformin and thyroid meds, or did your RE take over all of that?

The vaccine wait: Has anyone else had to get a live vaccine right before starting? Did you just use that 30-day wait to get used to the Metformin?

Any advice on navigating this phase or questions I should specifically ask my PCP/RE would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!

How often to BD around peak? (Daily vs Every other day)

My doctor recommended doing BD every other dayspecifically Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday. However, I hit my peak on Monday, so we added Monday to the schedule.

Now I’m debating whether we should still do Tuesday as originally recommended, or if that might be too much. I'm just worried that doing it back to back might not give his sperm enough time to recover. (His SA was normal) I’ve heard that doing it every day can lower sperm count and quality.

What do you guys think? Should we stick to the plan and do Tuesday too or rest?

also do you guys usually do everyday or everyother day?

Working out during ovulation while TTC? (Heavy lifting & hot yoga)

Do you still work out like normal around ovulation and during the TWW (two week wait) when TTC?
My doctor said any workout is fine, including heavy lifting and even hot yoga. she just mentioned to stop hot yoga once I get a positive test. Are you guys still sticking to your usual workout routines, or do you scale back during this time?

Metformin / letrozole 2.5mg journey

Trying for a full year and nothing. Periods had gotten long and irregular. Multiple lh surges with a weak progesterone rise. Diagnosed with pcos/pmos in March. Started metformin and inositol in April. After 3 months cycles were definitely getting shorter, and ovulation was happening with less lh surges. Fast forward to July and I took my first round of 2.5mg letrozole. My inito chart is beautiful this morning!! Looks like I had a strong ovulation on day 14 followed by an immediate progesterone rise on day 15! Hoping this is the cycle for us!!
