This is a curated list manually assembled (by me!) each week. Things change, and sometimes I make mistakes. Please double check all details at the venue site before you go!
If you want your show to be considered for the list, please use the submission form (link in my bio and on TheSoundRochester.com) - if you did not submit your show, it may not be included. If you’re not included in the list, please don’t take this personally, I’m human and sometimes I miss things.

Hi all! My name is Lee im 24 and based in Rochester. Im disabled with POTS and multiple other issues. I need to find someone to "body double" with me when I go to the gym.
I hate being out alone but I have to go before I work at 8am or after 4:30 pm most days so going with any people is hard. I need new friends either way but is anyone up to being gym buddies?
Im not great at exercising but I NEED to for my health so being a bit knowledgeable about how to stretch well or how to use weights would be handy but I just wanted a chill bud to go to the gym with!
If it matters I am nonbinary fem presenting in case people would feel uncomfy somehow.
Oh I also go to either the east ave one or perinton cause ive been swimming but if we do mostly dry exercise ill be going to the henrietta or eat ave location

My husband has a very specific dinner craving: pancakes, eggs, mozzarella sticks, and pizza logs… all in the same meal.
We used to go to Golden Fox on Culver Rd, but it seems to have closed. It was one place that could satisfy all of those cravings at once.
Is there anywhere around Rochester that can make this combination happen?

No one was hurt... this time. Apparently some kids were playing chicken with a train in Fairport. Train had to stop, the crew had to be replaced because they were so shaken and it held up foot traffic on Main Street for over an hour. (Cars already couldn't use it due to construction.)
If you have kids, please teach them better than this. I did plenty of stupid things when I was their age. I think everyone did. But we NEVER would have done this.
Edit: This is not my video. I found it on YouTube. There is a rail fan area where the video was taken. I figured someone would have it online e at some point.
I wasn't right there when it happened. I was close enough to see the train stop but not what had occurred.
Firetrucks and EMTs showed up within minutes. I didn't see any police but I suspect they were on the other side taking witness accounts.
Edit 2: As of about 5:30 today (7/22) the news picked up the story. The police are very much aware of the incident and are looking to speak to the children and their parents. You can read all the reporting here: https://www.whec.com/top-news/video-shows-kids-refusing-to-move-off-fairports-main-street-tracks-as-train-approaches/

Now, I’d like to start this with saying I’m 25, female, pansexual
But how tf do people make friends these days 😔 I have always struggled with making friends, even from a young age. But, it seems like these days people are always just ghosting after two conversations, or have ulterior motives.
I am very blunt, but kind. I am the type of person that always helps others, and expect nothing in return. I am pro BLM+/LGBTQIA. I spend my weekends sometimes helping with the House of Mercy with feeding the homeless. And I work 25/8.
Places/recommendations?

Hi I am a local contractor that constantly gets calls for small handyman jobs. I do not have the time to get to these smaller jobs. Looking for a reliable and smart handyman or handywoman who can take on a little extra work. Thanks

Looking for recommendations for an exceptional male therapist in the Rochester, NY area.
This is for a 58 year old man who is going through an extremely difficult emotional crisis after an unexpected pregnancy. He's normally outgoing, social, resilient, the life of the party, and has never been someone who struggles with anxiety or depression.
Over the past month, he's become a completely different person. He's had severe insomnia, says his mind won't stop spinning, feels like he's in a dark place, has withdrawn from people and activities he normally loves, says he doesn't want to see anyone, talk to anyone, or do anything, and is overwhelmed trying to process what he sees as a life-altering change.
I'm looking for a therapist who is especially good with men facing major life transitions, grief, trauma, or overwhelming stress. Ideally, someone who is direct, experienced, and connects well with men who normally would never consider therapy. Experience helping men navigate unexpected pregnancies or similarly life-altering situations would be a huge plus.
Personal recommendations would mean a lot. Thank you.

I have had spectrum for about 15 years but it cuts out a lot. My Internet bill is $55 a month after a $20 promo ($175 total for my Cable subscription and Internet) I know Greenlight is available in my neighborhood.

Hi, I need help looking for an event space. I am planning a formal event with the expected capacity of 100 people, but have only been given a budget of 700 dollars. I can't seem to find any place that would work out. Does anyone know of good venues they'd recommend. We had a great space available but it just got booked before we could reserve it and now I am at a loss and cant seem to find anything else. Any recs would be appreciated

I moved to Rochester, New York about 4 months ago from out of state (no connections here), and I just purchased a pair of roller skates. I want to know is there a place in the area that could customize them with graphics?

I've consulted Google, but I'd appreciate any recs for a competent and kind doc who specializes in liver problems. A beloved family member is in need. Appreciate any help you could give!

Six assailants. New York sets the threshold for gang assault at three. Any bets on whether DA Brian Green has the willingness to live up to his oath and faithfully enforce New York law?

My partner and I have just bought a house in the east side of Plamyra. We’re looking for a trash pick-up service in the area.
We’ve gotten quotes from Casella and Dependable, but would like to ask if anyone knows of other services.
Thanks in advance!
