While watching the movie, I asked my partner to sew me a yellow jumpsuit and she did! I made the mission patches and built Rocky to complete my Ryland Grace cosplay. I'm really happy with how it all came together and wanted to share here. I have some videos on my socials as well.

After watching the movie multiple times, something struck me. When Grace finally admits he’s not going back to Earth and will die in space, Rocky says “Why didn’t you tell me?” Not “Why you not tell me, question?—as you would expect him to say and is the grammatical structure he uses just before and after this. At first I thought that maybe the phrase was recorded at a later date and the actor forgot how to make Rocky sound like Rocky. But then it made me wonder if it’s intentional. Since there are other references to movies throughout this one, is it a nod to Luke Skywalker’s question at the end of The Empire Strikes Back: “Ben, why didn’t you tell me?” Honestly, I have to go with this explanation otherwise it’s quite a glaring inconsistency.

Since it seems that this fandom is allergic to happiness (I'm looking at you 'grace gets old and dies' comics) you get a funny meme.

I love Rocky and Adrian. These span over a while, my artstyle is super inconsistent. Also it features mark watney who I’ve made a whole AU for with friends (go Rylark!!!!). I took the Grace one more seriously lol, I had to edit some shorts onto my boy. I did it in about 3 hours on Roblox it was very fun!!

Why did Grace get lost on the Blip-A?

Because it was a - maze.

So I asked my grandma to crochet it to see if she could make this little Earth from the movie for me. She wasn't crocheting anymore, but she asked someone she knew to do it and handed it to me a few days ago. I absolutely fell in love with this little ball and I pick it up all the time. It makes me a bit sad when I show it to some people at work and they have no idea what it is.
