Discussion Trying to catch up with newer releases while being quite picky
Although I know some newer bands, I realised I've gotten quite out of touch with post-hardcore again and was hoping the sub could steer me right.
I've got two strands I'm looking for really, stuff on the more melodic or lighter instrumental side like:
Bouquet, Gatherers, Gouge Away, La Dispute, Commonwealth, early Movements, Brutus
And on the other side, shoutier or more scramz adjacent like:
Chalk Hands, Birds In Row, Rose Gold, Touche Amore, Initiate, Garden Home, Boneflower, State Faults
Important disclaimer - I do not enjoy swancore or high pitched clean vocals.

Discussion Recommend me actually emotional bands
If you don’t got one band but a playlist it works too. Bands that make emotional music, i like songs that have both scream and melodic clean vocal and guitars. Please help me because i’m not finding bands whose signature is this. If it’s emo nice. If it’s lowkey shoegaze nice. If its much more heavy nice. idc just emotional and melodic vibes.
An example of a song i like: Foxcult’s Haunted (https://youtu.be/e7EMt0HACtI)

Check Out My Band My band got to open for Body Thief and Postdrome 7/17
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My band, Sleep Paralysis Social Club, got to fill a local support slot for Body Thief and Postdrome in Richmond, Virginia at The Canal Club last weekend! This is a clip of us playing our song "metanoia," which came out in April. I saw Body Thief open for Saosin a couple years ago, when they came through Richmond, and my guitar player saw them play a tiny venue in Northern Virginia over a decade ago, so getting to play a show with them was wild. They were the nicest people, and absolutely killer live, if they're coming through your area, make sure to catch them.

Looking for songs/EPs similar to Bloom’s "In Passing" (Themes of grief & loss)
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for post-hardcore (or melodic hardcore) tracks and EPs that hit the same emotional level as Bloom’s EP In Passing. I absolute adore this band, and the way they explore grief, loss, and mourning on that record is just incredible.
Another great example of the vibe/theme I’m looking for is "Whispers of Your Death" by Counterparts.
Do you have any suggestions for songs or records with similar heavy, emotional soundscapes and raw lyrics dealing with grief?
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Any love for Renacer by Senses Fail?
This was the record that got me (back) into Senses Fail when it came out.
I was really into the direction they took with these songs.
Did anyone else get into this?
EDIT: the guitarist on this record, Zach, actually passed away recently.

Discussion What’s the deal with bands making an incredible first album, than completely changing their style, becoming a cringe millennial band, or just disappearing
For example: alexisonfire, saosin(although their newer stuff is OKAY, it’s just not like the first album), this armistice, dance Gavin dance and countless others
