Official presets from Blight Town, Novumora, Space Weather and Grapevine Gossip!!
Hey all! I'm sure you've seen my posts about the amp sim i made for swancore called The Swan. Just wanted to hop on here and say it's officially got real, genuine presets made from the bands listed in title. And there are more to come! I'm really excited for the guitarists in the swancore community to try this out. I really believe its a game changer in terms of quality and getting usable tones right off the rip. If you ever struggled with getting decent swancore tones with your typical amp sims then this will be a breath of fresh air for you.
If any of the bands who contributed to the presets are on here and see this, THANK YOU!
And again thanks to everyone who's given it a shot. If anyone wants or needs a link to it please leave a comment!
Would also love to hear things you'd want out of a swancore amp sim!

The Fall Of Troy - Doppelgänger (2005)
I just want to share my journey with swancore.
Some years ago I found Dance Gavin Dance by accident. At first I didn't even know what swancore was. I just knew that something in their music was different. The crazy guitars, the clean vocals mixed with screaming, the technical riffs, the unexpected changes... I became completely addicted.
After that I started searching for bands with that same feeling. That's how I discovered that there was actually a genre around this style. Then my hyperfocus started lol.
I listened to Hail The Sun, Eidola, A Lot Like Birds, Wolf & Bear, Royal Coda and many other bands. Every new band gave me that same feeling of "I need to hear this again." There is something about swancore that makes my brain obsessed with certain parts of songs. Sometimes I replay the same section five or ten times because it sounds so satisfying.
Eventually that journey brought me to The Fall of Troy.
I know they are not exactly a swancore band, but after hearing Doppelganger I completely understand why so many people say they were such a big influence.
This album is insane.
It sounds like a post-hardcore band possessed by Rush. The guitar work is so technical and chaotic, but somehow everything still makes sense. The riffs feel like they are fighting each other and then suddenly they come together perfectly.
And Thomas Erak's screams... I honestly think these are some of the most aggressive screamed vocals I've ever heard in a post-hardcore album. They fit the chaos of the instruments perfectly.
I can't stop listening to Doppelganger now. And my favorite song is We Better Learn To Hotwire A Uterus... the final riff hits! Not gonna lie.
It's funny how one random Dance Gavin Dance song ended up taking me through all these bands until I finally reached this album.
Did anyone else have a similar journey into swancore? And if Doppelganger influenced your taste, what band came next for you?
I just wish that Dance Gavin Dance comes to Brazil tho...

I spent the last year building an amp sim specifically for swancore. It’s officially out today.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A while back, I started building an amp sim because I was tired of forcing general-purpose metal plugins into the glassy, articulate guitar tones I wanted for swancore and post-hardcore.
After about a year of development, artist testing, and a lot of revisions, The Swan is officially available today.
This video is one tone from the plugin in a full musical context.
It’s available for Mac and Windows, includes a free 7-day trial, and the introductory price is $49.99 through July 20.
Full disclosure: this is my own commercial plugin.

Kuroi Ledge by A Lot Like Birds - this is a very important song
I'm not entirely sure what possessed me to post this, but I have to give major props to this song. It's a song about suicide, yet at the same time it feels... uplifting? Hopeful? Ecstatic? I don't know how to describe it but as someone who has spent pretty much their whole adult life struggling with depression, this song makes me actually feel something to live for. It's an absolute masterpiece. I think it has actually saved my life on multiple occasions. Kurt, I fucking love you and what you're doing with Royal Coda. Cory Lockwood, I know you left the music industry but the legacy you left behind is unforgettable and just know there will never be anyone quite like you (as amazing as Andy is doing with the band). Franzino, Ben, Butter, and Arrington too - you guys too, you all created a timeless piece of art and should know that you have saved at least one life in mine

I spent the last year building an amp sim specifically for swancore. Here’s how it’s sounding.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been obsessed with those glassy cleans, punchy rhythms, and expressive lead tones from bands like Dance Gavin Dance, Royal Coda, Eidola, Hail the Sun, etc., and I always felt like getting there required way too much tweaking across different amp sims.
So I decided to build one that focuses on that style instead of trying to model 100 different amps.
Let me know what you guys think! My website is in my bio if you want to join the waitlist for early release

Did anyone listen to Sable by Deftones?
Felt pretty swancore as far Deftones go. Would have loved to see Kurt Travis or Jon Mess return the feature favor on this song
EDIT: I just learned Kurt was supposed to feature on Briana which was one of my other favorites of the leaks

Isles and Glaciers is the rocks pirates of swancore
Niche but any one piece and dance Gavin dance fans? Yk it makes sense bc they have some of the biggest names in post-hardcore/swancore/emo but they were abolished after a short but generational encounter
