Which option do you pick?

Option 1 - 10 year $320 million deal ($32AAV)

Option 2 - 6 year $228 million deal ($38AAV)

Option 3 - 1 strong starting pitcher with years of control, 1 bullpen arm with years of control and 3 top 100 prospects

LUIS GARCIA Jr

with chapparo playing well
With two young 1st basemen playing well in AAA
And with Luis Garcia playing better then he has ever played

I think the writing is on the wall that he is going to get traded. To me he is an amazing platoon player but not too much more than that.

What do you think we can expect from him in the trade market.

What can I expect?

- 1 young bullpen arm with years of control??
- 1 young starting pitcher with years of control??
- 1 top 100 prospect?
- are all three a possibility?

Trading CJ is probably the right move

CJ is a very good player, he's a very exciting player, I understand this would piss of the fanbase and would carry a lot of risk. I do believe at some point we have to stop losing all of our top talent, but I'll give some reasons why I believe trading him is the right move from a baseball prospective

You'd be paying him 30+ which is a valuation of a SS, CJ simply cannot stay at short. He is the worst fielding SS in the league and has shown no growth in that regard. Also i just want to add that if the contract comes in way lower than i expect just disregard all of this

Then you say put him at second, now you're paying 30+ to a second baseman which is just way way too much for the position, especially when youre a very good not elite player. 30+ for a 2B is unheard of. I also personally believe Mead should be the guy moving to second whenever we find a 3b

This is also CJs first year putting up legit good hitting analytics, in the past he has been uninspiring to below average in that regard, this is looking at full season samples where I recognize he has slumped in the second half of years. I was very encouraged by his start of season discipline, he was walking at a very good clip, but over the past 2 months he has gone back to a 5.4BB%.

If we extend him I won't be angry at all, I love CJ. But, unless he has some miraculous turnaround in the field I believe a trade is the right move assuming we get the package I believe we can, whether its at the DL or the offszn.
