I'm currently deciding between a gaming laptop like the Lenovo LOQ and a MacBook Pro M1 Right now, I'm leaning towards the MacBook because of its portability, excellent battery life, and the fact that it seems to hold up better in the long run. From what I've heard, many Windows gaming laptops become slower over time, are bulky and heavy to carry around all day, and usually have much shorter battery life.
What I am worried about is that macOS might not be able to run certain software that are commonly used in CS or engineering. Would choosing a Windows laptop be the better decision because of software compatibility?
For context, I'll mainly be using the laptop for programming, video editing, and Blender. I also plan to build a desktop PC within the next 1–2 years, so any heavy workloads like AI/ML training or more demanding projects would eventually be done on that instead. (I will be a day scholar)

So I just finished my 1st year board exams and I heard from many people that nust takes like 2-3 tests before 2nd year exams . Can someone good person tell me what to do or smth cuz I'm my whole social life I have never meet someone from nust . Plus Google is spouting random nonsense, it's saying admissions are open but the website is saying they are closed .

I heard about physical acceptance letters that are delivered to your address, but is it true that only people on the first merit list get them?

I’m waiting for the later NUST merit lists and I’ve heard that lists 8–10 usually come out around late September or even early October. Is that actually true? If so, isn’t that really late? Wouldn’t we miss a lot of classes by then? I’m also in a bit of a dilemma. My aggregate isn’t high enough to be confident about getting into NUST, but I do have a good chance of getting into COMSATS. Should I secure my seat at COMSATS first and wait for the later NUST merit lists, or is that a bad idea? I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been in a similar situation or got admission through the later lists.

I am so confused rn!
I don’t know which campus of nust has the best campus life, faculty and opportunities!
H12, MCS, CEME?
Tbh, h12 is so out of league for me bc my required merit ain’t that high.
So? CEME or MCS? Which one should I choose?
Which has more beautiful areas to visit, more better infrastructure, less strictness??
#nust #h12 #ceme #mcs

Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone.
My aggregate is 79.53%. Do you think I have a chance of getting into Data Science in the first merit list at NUST?
I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share previous years’ merit trends or their opinion.
Thanks!

Ik there are ALOTTTT of groups made and I know it's annoying, but this, THIS IS A PROPER GROUP. A group where we can get to know each other and skip the awkward phase where we have no friends. Jinka aggregate 70+ hai and joining NBS this year, join up.

My composite is 25+ but my math score is below that, it won’t let me add my score saying ke it needs to be in the 25-36 range when their website says only a composite of 25+ is required. Is anyone struggling with the same issue, and knows how to fix it?

I'm taking my NET on 28 july, and I'd really appreciate some feedback from those who have taken it recently.
How difficult did you find the test overall? Was it easier or harder than you expected?
Also, were most of the questions from 1st year or 2nd year FSC topics?
Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated

Congratulations to everyone at NBS! This is definitely a huge win. Great job to the admin team. It must have been a long process. Being only the third school in Pakistan to achieve this is even more impressive given how young NBS is.
For anyone applying for a master’s degree, especially an MBA abroad, be sure to mention this to the admissions team. It could help you receive transfer credits and waive some courses, which can make a big difference.

So i gave Dawood university entry test and secured good numbers and my cpn by comparions form last year is also good so i can get into evey field i want.
My full preference list (in order) is:
I have already taken a gap year so i need to take admission in Dawood this year my cpn is 64. while CSE last year closing was 67. so i dont think CSE is possible. i dont want to pursue BS programs and computer science Ai etc. so my option is electronic engineering i just need advice about my decison and other advice if anybody can offer better advice form their experience.
