What wire is this? ABS and brake light on dash

Hello, on my 2008 Toyota Camry LE 2.4 I have recently gotten the ABS and brake light on my dash. Also the speedometer would drop to 0. The temperature gauge has also been affected but it drops to C only and goes back to the middle. Have been keeping an eye on the coolant.

Was told the ABS module will need to be replaced, was going to attempt to but I am a bit nervous as I don't have those readers that can program it.

Quoted $700 for the fix.

Just noticed this wire connected to the module thats corroded and can't find a diagram of the name. Please help

EDIT: Thank you all for your responses I appreciate it! I am definitely not mechanic savvy lol, brake line* is fine after all. Will be letting the pros fix codes

It’s been my assumption that local mechanics don’t work on Teslas. Wrong or right?

Having more choice than just Tesla service is important, I think.

It came off a little bit but now I can't get it either back on or the rest of the way off. New ideas?

ford fusion 2009 SE

edit: Sorry for camera angle, vehicle has a slight power steering leak. chased down the leak and found the boot to the inner tie rod to be broken and fluid coming out of the rack when inner tie rod fully extended.

My question is if the issue is the broken boot of or the rack itself

2020 Chevy Express AC issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a 2020 Chevy Express with about 200k miles.

Recently the AC has been acting strange.

While driving down the road the AC is ice cold.

But once I stop somewhere and I'm idling I can hear the AC clutch kicking on and off and the temperature that blows out of the vents is just like ambient Air temperature and kind of muggy.

I took it to a shop to get the AC recharged and according to the shop they said that all the levels were good.

I was curious and I found an old A/C Pro DIY gauge.

I plugged it in to check to see what it reads while the compressor cycling on and off.

But it's pretty much pegged out at the max whenever I read the gauge.

I will try to attach a video. In the video you can hear the compressor clicking on and off when the gauge goes up and down.

Any suggestions on what I should look at next or have another shop try to recharge it?

Stripped oil pan bolt

Post image

Hi! Just got my maintenance done and they told me I need to replace my oil pan because the threading is stripped. I asked to see the screw that’s stripped and it def looks like they miss-thread the screw. What do you think? I don’t think I should pay over $600 for a new oil pan when someone messed it up. Speaking to the manager tomorrow but it sounds like they’re trying to blame wear and tear. It clearly doesn’t look like wear and tear. I have a Toyota Prius, 2022, get oil changes every 5k miles. Has a total of 93k miles on it.

Which wires for seat belt buckle?

Post image

Just cut this under-seat wiring harness off from the floorboard of my 2003 Camry, which wires correspond to seat belt buckle? I'm converting from power seats to a manual with power lumbar support and a 4 wire buckle, as my power seat had a 2 wire buckle. The new seat is from a 2005.

Once a year i need to add freon/refrigerant into the system because it is leaking and mechanics cant find where… also i can hear the fan almost all the time at max speed when ac is on.

Can this AC radiator which is clearly damaged be the reason for that 2 things?

Rav4 not starting after driving through puddle

0 Upvotes

There was a rainstorm this weekend and I drove through a big puddle a little faster than I realized. There was a big splash but kept driving with no issues.

I got to my destination and when I left awhile later, my car took an extra couple clicks to start. I thought it was odd but the car ran fine so I didn't think too much of it. This starting issue lasted another 2 days. Extra clicks, but started and ran.

This morning when I went to start my car it wouldn't start. Just a bunch of clicks. I figured since it lasted this long, it's probably just a coincidence and the battery was probably just dead. So I cleaned the corrosion off the terminals and tried again, no luck.

Then I got a jump from my mom's car and still no luck. Just clicking.

So now I'm on reddit feeling a little defeated and worried my entire engine is blown from a puddle.

My next steps I think are to pull the spark plugs and see if there's any water. But I'm spent for now and thought I'd post about my situation to see if y'all have any insight or advice. Thanks!

What does this look like engine oil or any other car fluid?

Post image

1997 ford f150 xl might be asking a stupid question what do you think this is? Sorry if the picture isn't the best but kinda hard to see the puddle of oil on the driveway but I touched the fluid and it gives me the feeling the truck we are using is leaking engine oil. Any advice helps please and thank you. The piece of grass is the only thing that I know isn't coming from the vehicle. It's also more tiny little puddles in random spots and we haven't parked it differently.

Battery temp fix? 2015 Buick Encore

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello! Just need some quick advice. I changed my battery out and we couldn’t get the screw back into the hole that holds the bar that goes on top of my battery to hold it down. I work the next three nights (I live 15 minutes from my job) and won’t be able to take it to a shop until after. Will the zip ties be a semi-safe temporary fix just until I can take it somewhere?

Plastic cap stuck in brake line at master

0 Upvotes

2010 Ford Fusion 3.0

Some idiot (it me) managed to get a plastic cap from a master bleeder kit into the brake line where it connects to the master cylinder. Its wedged itself 2-3 inches in at the bend (pretty sure it's still in there at that spot but hard to tell)

Tried a vacuum, drawing air from the bleeder tube inside the line, it won't come out. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I don't have an air compressor, looking into that now

Master switch issues?

Upvotes

Okay here's a bit of backstory. My gals driver side window wouldn't roll up a few weeks ago. Took it into the mechanic cause I was kinda busy and mostly lazy. They quoted me 900 dollars for a master switch. Anyways they rolled the window up and said they disconnected it for some reason. sent me on my way because no way I'm paying for that. Fast forward to now I ordered a used master switch,(this is a 2005 Acura mdx btw) just installed it and now none of the windows will roll up or down. But I do hear a clicking sound anytime I try to activate the driver side window but no clicking sound for any of there others. Any ideas what the issue maybe?

Low Engine Oil Pressure?

0 Upvotes

I have a 2015 Citroën C3 Picasso Exclusive. The car has fairly high mileage.

Recently, after driving for a considerable amount of time, the STOP warning and oil warning light come on when I slow down, usually when the engine returns to a low RPM. The warnings do not normally appear when the engine is cold or shortly after starting the car.

When I first noticed the issue, the engine oil level was extremely low. Since then, I have:

  • Refilled the engine oil;
  • Had an oil flush performed with a flushing additive;
  • Replaced the oil with new oil;
  • Replaced the oil filter;
  • Had the oil pressure sensor cleaned.

However, the problem is still happening after the engine has been running for a while.

What would be the best next diagnostic step?

I have an 06 mini cooper that started a misfire last Friday, I replaced the spark plugs and nothing changed so I just replaced the coil pack today when it arrived, the car seems to be running fine now but still has a check engine light for the same misfire, is there something that I am missing here as a non mechanic?

is this normal?

I recently got my rear passenger brake changed (pads and rotor). Tried doing it myself but snapped the bracket bolt. Anyways brought it to my mechanic he swapped the pad and rotor and extracted the bolt. I received the vehicle but noticed the hub looked like this. Is this normal? I don't grease the hubs when I do my own job.
