I posted yesterday but for the showroom unavailability in the locality has stopped me from buying the bike for some time.

Hey everyone,

I need to commute daily 60kms (its a highway) so

I need to buy a bike, so I don't have much time to research.

Budget: Up to โ‚น1.6 lakh (on-road preferred) Use: Daily commuting with occasional highway rides. Priorities:

Reliable and low maintenance

Good mileage

Comfortable riding position

Decent power for highways

Good service network.

Which bike would you buy in this budget, and why? Also, are there any models I should avoid?

  11. MT-15 V2 โ€” ~46 km/l โ€” โ‚น125/day
  12. Apache RTR 160 4V โ€” ~45 km/l โ€” โ‚น128/day

  16. Pulsar NS200 โ€” ~36 km/l โ€” โ‚น160/day
  17. Hunter 350 โ€” ~35 km/l โ€” โ‚น165/day

I have been thinking about buying a bike for a while and this machine attracts me the most. My friends are suggesting that I should go with a 350 as it is expensive to maintain and fuel prices are rising these days. My yearly running is around 4-5k km. My heart really wants to buy the 650.

#Review ๐Ÿ“ 22k ODO on my H'ness CB350 โ€“ Do I love it or hate it?

Thumbnail

After 22,000 km and around 2.5 years with my H'ness CB350, I still can't answer that question.

This is my first bike. Before this, I used to ride my friend's NS200 in college, and I absolutely loved it. When I bought the H'ness after a year , I instantly fell in love with its smooth engine, refined nature, exhaust note, comfort, and timeless looks. Every ride felt special.

But over time, I changed as a rider.

After riding bikes like the Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, I started feeling like I had outgrown the power of the H'ness.

On highways, overtaking above 90โ€“100 km/h requires planning. It doesn't have that instant punch I now wish it had, and the tall gearing can be frustrating, especially on ghat roads where you're constantly shifting gears.

At the same time, I absolutely love riding it through twisties. The mid-range pull in 3rd gear, the exhaust note echoing through the hills, and the smooth engine still put a smile on my face.

Things I don't like:

- Brakes have never inspired confidence, even after upgrading the brake pads.

- Headlight performance is poor.

- Suspension feels stiff.

- Honda service is expensive.

- some times it won't go above 90 no matter what in 4th gear

- Had a few minor oil seepage issues.

But here's the thing...

In 22,000 km, this bike has never stranded me.

It has stood by me in scorching summers, heavy rain, late-night rides, long highway trips, and countless weekend rides. It has always brought me back home safely.

Sometimes, when I see a Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, or Himalayan, I think, "Maybe I should've stretched my budget." But the reality is, stretching for the H'ness itself was already difficult because of my financial situation back then and present as well ๐Ÿ˜”

If you're someone who enjoys relaxed cruising at 80โ€“90 km/h, values refinement, comfort, reliability, and a beautiful exhaust note, this bike is genuinely fantastic.

If you're someone who enjoys aggressive riding, frequent highway overtakes, or wants stronger top-end performance, good low end grunt with pillion, you might eventually feel limited like I do.

So... do I love this bike?

Yes.

Do I hate it sometimes?

Also yes.

Maybe that's what a long-term relationship with a motorcycle feels like. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ

Would love to hear from fellow H'ness owners. After living with it for years, do you still love yours, or have you also started wanting something more?

#Query โ“ Almost set on buying NS400. Usage would mostly be highway and occasional touring. Best option for the price?

Earlier, i was considering cb350s, Dominar and T4. But now i'm thinking why pay more when one can get better for lesser price. Not to forget, Bajaj's service costs are also more affordable.

I didn't have a great experience at bajaj showroom as i recently went to checkout dominar, but bajaj showroom didn't have a dominar for display or test ride.

Hey everyone,

I need to buy a bike literally tomorrow, so I don't have much time to research.

Budget: Up to โ‚น1.6 lakh (on-road preferred) Use: Daily commuting with occasional highway rides. Priorities:

Reliable and low maintenance

Good mileage

Comfortable riding position

Decent power for highways

Good service network

I'm open to both new and used bikes if they're worth it.

Which bike would you buy in this budget, and why? Also, are there any models I should avoid?

Thanks in advance!

I need this to travel 30 km + 30 km= 60km daily

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Why do you think shumi ranks and appreciate triumph T4 than speed 400.

Post image
44 Upvotes

So i was watching this video in yt, where they talk about triumph downsizing their engines, and the impact of that change in every triumph 400 series. So interestingly at the later part of the video he mentioned that because of the engine change it's now feeling more meaningful and he ranks TRIUMPH SCRAMBLER 400X as his top pick ( it's obvious pick ) but after that interestingly he mentioned

" Triumph T4 as his 2nd best option in the triumph lineup "

I am wondering why he chose to put " triumph T4 " above speed 400.

Technically speed 400 is the better bike on paper and T4 is like the economical version or speed 400.

But why do you think? Any T4 owners or anyone who rides both speed 400 & T4 can tell me the point here ?

#Opinion ๐Ÿ’ญ Finally realised why people love naked

Post image

I only ride my brother's Honda Sp125 other than my e - scooter.

I have ridden Himalayan 411 for more than 50kms, it felt amazing, the posture and tall gears, it was amazing to ride.

Yesterday got to ride my friend's Pulsar NS200, rode it for maybe 2kms, she feels petite as f, more petite than sp125.

It felt so small b/w my thighs, I enjoyed it.

Never really loved naked bikes, i guess now I'll have to add one in the future.

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ Aprilia as a brand is a piece of shit. Read below.

The forks seals on my 2024 RS457 need replacement. The official stance from Aprilia is that they do not work on seal replacements and will only replace the entire fork which costs around 15k per fork.

Like any sensible person I tried contacting a well known 3rd party service place at Chennai because itโ€™s not that expensive of a fix and was informed by the 3rd party that Aprilia does not provide spares to anyone or a manual about the forks which tells them the fluid levels so they canโ€™t fix the issues. So the 3rd party cannot work on my bike without the parts and they canโ€™t even source a similar part from a different manufacturer because they do not have the details about the forks, oil level and manual.

Now my only option is to pay around 15k to have the entire fork replaced on one side.

I admired Aprilia as a brand and their pedigree in motorsport but this feels like a total ripoff!
